lives: Press Select, B, A, B, A, B(2),
A(2) during game play.
Hint:
Alohamora spell: Hermione teaches you this in the common room after Quiddich
practice. It opens locked doors with pictures of stars on them.
Hint:
Flipendo spell: Professor Quirrell teaches you this spell in your first lesson.
It is a spell that shoots a ball of energy in a straight line. This spell
can push objects, stun enemies or break containers.
Hint:
Flying spell: Allows you to move some stones and statues.
Hint:
Lumos spell: Lights the area for a few minutes.
Hint:
Transfiguration spell: Taught in transfiguration lesson. Gets rid of object (files of
books etc.) that are put over switches by turning them into birds.
Hint:
Alternate ending sequence: Get all fifteen Folio Magi cards and get the final card from Ron.
Get 600 House Points so Griffindor wins the House Cup. A new ending sequence
will appear.
Hint:
Extra life: Locate a Berties Every Flavor Bean(s) and take it/tehm. Clear the
area and then return and the Bean(s) will be there again. They may be a
different color than last time, but will give you more health.
Hint:
Chess challenge: To get past this challenge (McGonagall's), you must wait until a
chess piece is on a pressure plate, then immediately hit it with a Flipendo
to freeze it. Ron will take care of the remaining one. Do not, however,
touch the pieces, even when they are frozen, or you will lose one lightning
bolt per touch.
Hint:
Get rid of flies: Look around for a Fly Catcher (a big green plant that moves) and
lead the flies to the plant.
Hint:
Defeating Troll: Get close, and when it raises its club, back off and hit it with
the Flipendo spell. Then, knock it into the largest hole on the far left.
When the troll gets mad and
opens his body, shoot him with a Wengardium Liviosa spell (the one that
makes objects fly) four times. He will hit himself on the head and die.
You need two Grand Wingglewed
Potions. Attack him with the fourth spell on your list (the one that costs 3
magic points). Make sure to be at level 16 or higher. If not, go to the
classroom on the left to train.
Hint:
Defeating Voldemort: After the challenges, you meet Quirrel in a room. He is actually
the enemy. To defeat him, get him to destroy the four large pillars in the
room. The best way is to stand behind them, wait until he shoots, then move
behind the next one. When they are all gone, you both will fall into a room
with lots of rocks on the floor and the mirror in the middle. He will walk
to the top of the room and shoot at you. Use the mirror as a shield (it
bounces his shots back at him). After awhile he will levitate rocks at you.
Again, use the mirror as a shield. When he moves to the bottom of the room,
keep the mirror between you. Shoot the mirror once with Flipendo and it will
swing round and you can use it as a shield again. It will not be long before
he is defeated.
Hint:
Pumpkin Pasties: Collect three Pumpkin Pasties to get an extra health point added
on to what you currently have. For example, at the beginning of the game you
have five health points maximum, but can increase that to six by collecting
three Pumpkin Pasties. To see how many Pumpkin Pasties you have, press Select
and scroll with R or L to find them in your inventory.
Pumpkin Pasties can be found at
the following locations:
When you are learning the
Alomora spell from Hermione, win the challenge. She will give you a
Pumpkin Pasty.
After getting Alomora Spell,
go to Hagrid's house. Immediately before you get there, go down. On the
left side is a small patch of brown dirt. Go through there (through the
trees) then unlock the chest.
In The Dungeons (Snape's
place), go up near where he has the bookcases. Up and over to the right is
another Pumpkin Pasty.
Go to Green House 1 to the
right next to a tree. Go down into the secret area and defeat all enemies
(gnomes, turtles, etc.). When you defeat all of them, go south and do the
same things. When you are done, a Pumpkin Pastie will appear.
On your way to the Trophy
Room (through the side passage) for the duel with Draco, you will reach
the edge of a pit somewhere near the top of the screen. Do not fall --
just aim a Flipendo into the darkness somewhere towards the left side of
the hole. If you hit the switch, a bridge will appear. Cross it and unlock
the door. Once you get through, a Pumpkin Pastie will be waiting for you
at the end.
Hint:
Flipendo spells against teachers: Some of the teachers will deduct house points if you hit them
with the Flipendo spell. For example, if you hit Snape with the Flipendo
spell you will lose 4 House Points each time.
Hint:
Secret area: In the grounds, find the Glasshouse No.1. Go down, walk to the
left, and you will enter a secret area.
In Snapes' room. go north of
the cauldron. You will see a bookshelf. Press Up and the bookshelf
will move away.
Hint:
Secret passage: In Snapes class, go up to a bookshelf and press A or B.
It will open, but you have to have all the spells because there are statues
blocking the way.
Hint:
Students stand still: Once you get the flute, play it at other students and they will
stand still until you stop.
