"Delete Game Data" in the options menu.
Boss

have a Golden Ring in all stages (Act 1, 2, 3 and vs. Boss).
Change
color settings: Press R at the "Press Start" screen. In the
upper right corner, the game will display the color setting that you are
currently on. Press R again to change the color settings. There are
three color setting: "Game Boy Advance", "Game Boy Advance
SP", and "Game Boy Player". The color settings optimize the
color for the system that you are using.
Hint:
Defeating Eggman: Play as Knuckles and Tails. Have Knuckles as your lead and when
you face Eggman, use Knuckles' glide. Having Tails as your partner will give
Knuckles more elevation on his glide, allowing you to hit Eggman's weak spot
without any elevation help from the hands or the balls that fly around.
Use the following trick to
defeat Eggman at the Alter Emerald easily. Select the Sonic/Tails combo.
After you defeat the sub-Boss robot, you will face a giant robot Boss. An
easy way to defeat him is to use Tails' Tag Action in the air. You will
start flying. Use Tails' spinning tails as a weapon against Eggman. You will
hit him a maximum of three times. Beware of his hands, though. The more you
hit him, the more attacks he will use on you. The two you should really
watch out for are his hands trying to remove two of the ground tiles; and
when he uses the red metal balls as ping-pong balls. This can help you get a
gold medal in the Alter Emerald level and get to the Nonaggression level
easier (if you have all the Emeralds).
Use a team consisting of Cream
and Tails/Cream and Knuckles in story mode. Continually fire Cheese the Chao
at him to blow him up quickly.
Hint:
Eggman as partner: After collecting all the Emeralds, play the "Final Boss
level" with Sonic as the leader and anyone else as your partner. Once
you change to Super Sonic, Dr. Eggman will become your partner in order to
help you defeat the final Boss.
Hint:
Easy height: Have Tails as your partner. If you missed an elevated platform or
area during a level, use Tails' Tag action on the ground. About 95% of the
time you will be able to reach what you fell off from. Note: This can also
be done to access certain areas of the Act faster.
Hint:
Moonwalk: Your character can run backwards by holding R and
preparing the Tag Action (do not use it). Run and jump in the air. When in
the air, press the D-pad in the opposite direction you are running
and do not touch it afterwards. Your character will run in a direction and
he or she will be facing the other way. This is best done as Sonic, as he is
the fastest character.
Hint:
Grind with a surfboard: Put Sonic as the leader and Amy as your partner. Grind on a rail
and Sonic will grind with a surfboard.
Hint:
Better springs: Play as Amy or have Amy as your partner. Hit a spring with the
"Hammer Attack". The spring will give you more of a boost.
Hint: Sonic
The Hedgehog reference: In Zone 2, Sunset Hill, the music that plays is a remix of Green
Hill Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog.
Hint:
Finding Chao: Two of the best character combinations for finding Chao are
Knuckles and Tails (Knuckles can glide and climb walls, and with Tails as
his partner he can go just about anywhere); or Tails and Amy (this allows
Tails to fly much higher for those hard-to-reach spots.). Sometimes a Chao
can be underwater. Sometimes you can find a Chao in the Zone Map (where you
go into the Act Rings.). If you go to the Chao Garden in the Sonic Factory,
and press Select, you can see what Chao you have and do not have. If
the missing spot where a Chao should be is marked with a "1", you
will find it in Act 1. A "2" means that you will find it in Act 2.
If it is in Act 3, it will read "3", and the "M"
indicates that you will find it on the Zone Map.
