Redria
name: The name ED/Fullmetal will make a Redria Section ID.
Whiteill
name: The name RX-190 will make a Whiteill Section ID.
Dressing
Room: If you have at least 10,000 Meseta in your inventory, when you
load your character you will be allowed to enter the dressing room to change
your head (Android only), hair color, costume color, and more. However, you
cannot change the proportions or name of your character.
FMV
sequences: To view two FMV sequences (one when you create a character and
one new sequence), remain idle at the "Press Start" screen. After
the background pulses four times, one of the FMV sequences will start.
Hard
difficulty setting: Successfully complete either episode under the normal difficulty
setting to unlock the hard difficulty setting for both episodes. Note: Get
to level 20 or higher to unlock the hard difficulty setting in online mode.
Very
hard difficulty setting: Successfully complete either episode under the hard difficulty
setting to unlock the very hard difficulty setting for both episodes. Note:
Get to level 40 or higher to unlock the very hard difficulty setting in
online mode.
Ultimate
difficulty setting: Successfully complete either episode under the very hard
difficulty setting to unlock the ultimate difficulty setting for both
episodes. Note: Get to level 80 or higher to unlock the ultimate difficulty
setting in online mode.
Control
loading screen: While going online, move the Analog-stick or C-stick
to move the light around the screen. When entering an area, move the Analog-stick
to turn the tunnel or the C-stick to change the tunnel's speed.
When you are loading or leaving
a quest, and the loading screen has appeared (the strange atom), move the Analog-stick
to slowly move the atom or press A to change its color.
Chair
in Lobby: Hold X and press A while standing in the lobby to
create a chair that matches your character. Press A to move forwards
or use the Analog-stick to turn. Press B to get rid of the
chair.
Hint:
Name creation: The following characters will not change your section ID, no
matter how many times you use them. For example, the name "Wolfe"
creates a Whitill section ID. If you add "x or Z," it will remain
the same. "Wolfexxx" or "WolfeZZZ" creates a Whitill
section ID. Character order, position, and count do not matter. For example,
"WolfexZx" or "xWolfeZ" will create a Whitill section
ID. The characters are: P F Z 2 ( < d x n. Each one is case sensitive.
If you choose the name
"Mike", you will be a Viridia. If you want to be a Whitil, enter
the name "P.N.03." If you want to be an Oran, enter the name
"Frosty". If you want to be a Skyal, enter the name "Old Man
Fu". Try different names for different classes. Note: Spaces and any
other letter, number, etc. will change your class.
Hint:
Switching from lobby to lobby: If you are having trouble switching from lobby to lobby, go to
the booth. Go to the change block press X. If there are 100 people,
then it will let you in only if you are in the lobby, and not at the
beginning when you sign in. Alternately, if you have someone's card, search
for them. Go to "Meet User" and it will transfer you to that
block.
Hint:
Avoid walking near traps and enemies: Normally, you cannot run when near a trap or enemy. To avoid
this, press Start to display the main menu. You may now run again.
Hint:
Avoid mine field damage: When in a level with a trap mine field, hold Start and run
through. You will not get hurt.
Hint:
Fun with traps: If you hate waiting around for Rappys to get back up and you are
an Android, set a fire/explosion trap by them. Run to the other side of the
area. As soon as they get up to run, the trap will go off and you can grab
the items.
If you are being attacked by
multiple enemies, herd them into a group then run away from them. When you
are about 10 to 15 feet away from them, set a trap and turn back towards the
enemy, so that the trap is between you and the group. Fire a shot at the
trap to set it off (like the preset traps in most levels). The effect of
your trap will still go off, but you will have a bit more control over it.
Hint:
Slip through blocked and laser blocked doors: This trick requires a Saber, Brand, or no weapon at all. Go to a
corner of a blocked or a laser blocked door. Face the corner, then start
attacking. Keep doing this, and you will eventually slip through the door.
This trick is useful for getting to new places early. Note: This trick is
difficult to execute.
Hint:
Ice break: When you are frozen by an enemy, trap, or Boss, move the Analog-stick
Up and Down, or Left to Right very rapidly to break
free of the ice. This works very well when fighting Bosses with Ice Element
attacks such as the Gol Dragon or Sil Dragon. This trick also works in
battle mode.
Hint:
Unlimited number of Mags: Note: At least two controllers are required for this trick. Make
multiple characters and enter cooperative mode. Have one character drop his
or her Mag and the other pick it up. Go back and recreate the person who
dropped the Mag and go through the process again until you get as many as
desired. Note: You can also do this for Meseta.
Open a new character file, then
create a character that you do not care about. Have them go into a two
player game, and have them drop their Mags. You now have extras at your
disposal
Hint:
Change Mag: Get MAG to level 200 and trade with someone else. Get them to use
a Star Atomizer and it will evolve into something else. Do this as many
times as desired.
Hint:
Different Mags: Open a new character file, then create a character that you do
not care about. Have them go into a two player game and make them drop their
Mags. You will have extra Mags. Feed them only one type of item only and you
will have many different Mags.
Hint:
MAG fourth evolution formula: This works best if you started a new MAG. First, give it
Monomates, Dimates, and Trimates to boost the ATP score. Do this long enough
to get attack to 50, then use Anti-Paralysis for a while to boost DEF to 20,
and at last DEX to 30 (50 + 30 + 20 = 100). Your MAG will change by your sex
and Section I.D. number. Also, once the MAG changes, it will never change
again. For example a male Viridia will get Deva. If you change your MAG in
different orders, make sure you get a 3 Photon Blast. Once it changed, it
will not get a Photon Blast.
Hint:
Getting Al or Pal Rappies to appear: You must have access to the second tier of quests in order to do
this. Select the Fake In Yellow quest and go through the first three areas
with Rappies, killing them off. Once in the fourth area with Rappies (where
you meet the doctor in the Rappy costume for the second time), there should
be a huge amount of Rappies dropping down. Drop a Telepipe and examine them
all to see if any of them is an Al (or a Pal under the ultimate difficulty
setting) Rappy. If not, enter the pipe to town then quickly return to the
area. The Rappies will drop again. Repeat this procedure until eventually
one of the normal Rappies turns out to be a rare Rappy. It is recommended
that you have the ability to use Ryuker when doing this, as it is cheaper
then going back and forward to pay for Telepipes (350 each).
Hint:
Addslot: The best way to find an Addslot is to first go into multi-player
mode. Try to have a Redria, Oran, Viridia, and a Yellowbeeze. This increases
the chances of any player finding an Addslot. It also helps if you are
playing under the normal difficulty setting.
Hint:
Akiko's Frying Pan: First, complete all the Hunters Guild missions. You need to also
do claiming a stake. After that, go to Secret Delivery and talk to the man
near the transporter. He will give you an emblem. Then, finish the mission.
Next go to Value Of Money and talk to the person. They will give you
clearance to be in the "Weapons" group. Finish the mission, then
go to Gran Squall. Talk to the person finish that mission as well. Next, go
to Lost Bride and do the same. Then, go back to Secret Delivery and go near
the stores. You will see a fat lady. Talk to her and she will give you
Akiko's Frying Pan. Note: When the guard asks you what weapons should make
you feel like, say "Enthusiasm". Also answer "!!"
whenever someone asks you a question.
Hint:
Kireek's Soul Eater: You can do this only once per difficulty setting. To get Kireeks'
Soul Eater, you need to play "Dr. Osto's Research" quest. Then,
after you get the information at the end, talk to Sue. If she asks your
name, say "No". After you finish that quest, go to the
"Unsealed Door" quest. You will meet Sue again. Talk to her and
listen to what she says. Then, complete the quest. Next, go to the Waterfall
Tears. After defeating Anna, continue on to Cave 2 (same quest) and you will
eventually meet Kireek. He will greet you, then you will have to fight him.
After you defeat him, go to the "Black Paper" quest where he will
try a rematch in Cave 1 of this quest. Note: You are in the dark in this
battle. When you defeat Kireek in that battle, you will meet him again in
the "From the Depths" quest. In that quest after you separate from
Ash, go back to Ruins 2 (in this quest) and go as far west you can. You will
confront Kireek for the final time. It is recommended that you equip some
armor, shields, units that can withstand Dark/Draw/Shadow or whatever that
weapon is made out of, or use Razonde (or Zonde, if that is all you have).
When you defeat him you get to keep his weapon for your accomplishment.
Hint:
See Flowen: Defeat Olga Flow with a Red Weapon and then go back to town via a
Telepipe. Return and Flowen will be there. Note: You must be playing online
or offline multi-player mode. It is only in these modes that you can go back
to town after the Falz/Olga Flow battles.
Hint:
Yamato: To get the Yamato weapon, kill the dragon under the very hard
difficulty setting and the Sil Dragon under the ultimate difficulty
setting..
Hint:
See Red Ring Rico: Defeat Dark Falz with a Dark weapon then go back to town via a
Telepipe. Return and Rico will be there. Note: This where you get Red Ring
in Ultimate. Note: You must be playing online or offline multi-player mode.
It is only in these modes that you can go back to town after the Falz/Olga
Flow battles.
Hint:
Defeating Dark Falz: This trick only applies to forces. Make sure you have a high
level MAG -- level 100 or more with a lot of power. Also have two Scape
Dolls with you. Before this fight, learn Grants level 1 or higher. First of
all, destroy the mines. On his next giant form, keep using Grants on him,
but always make sure the pointer is on him, and not on the mines that he
fires out. When his first easy form is destroyed, make sure you have Resta
and Grants customized, plus Difluids and Dimates. There is only one good way
to defeat this form. Stay directly next to him when he is moving. When he
stops, get as many Grants in until he fires the photon beams at you. Then,
heal and cast more Grants until he hits you again. Then immediately heal and
repeat this until he starts moving again. Stick to his side, and repeat this
until he is dead. For his last form on Hard +, just use Grants. This can
hurt him when invisible and cast Resta when you are hurt.
Hint:
Defeating Dark Gunners: When you fight a group of Dark Gunners, look around and you
should see a red one called "Death Gunner". If you attack it, the
others will be paralyzed for about five seconds. If you destroy the Death
Gunner, they will be paralyzed for even longer.
Hint:
Defeating De La Rol: This trick only applies for forces. Before fighting the caves
Boss, get a MAG of level 100 or more from a friend, or just train it. Have a
friend who can buy Rafoie get it and give it to you. Make sure your MAG has
a high mind. Learn it, then when fighting the Boss of the caves, you can
attack every section of his body doing about 70 damage to each of them. You
can even hit him when he is not at the side of the boat.
Hint:
Defeating Dragon: When battling the Forest Boss, the Dragon, it is possible to
dodge him easily. When he burrows, run up against the wall. Chances are he
will not hit you. If he does come for you, it is easy to dodge by running
left or right against the wall.
This trick is recommended if
you are a Force/Hunter, although it might work with a Ranger. First of all,
make sure you are at least level 5, with a good MAG (MIND high) so you can
learn Resta. If you can get two MAGs (by creating a character, and taking
his MAG in two-player mode), it is a good idea to specialize a MAG in the
MIND area just so you can learn the techs (Rangers/Hunters), Also, have
Dagger/Saber/Cane and Monofluids. Get to the Dragon. Circle around him so
that he does not stomp you, and attack his feet. Daggers work best here, as
they can do about 30+30 damage. That way, you are safe from his fire. He may
fall while you are attacking him. Dodge if needed, but to get the most out
of the attacks, get hit, use Resta, and attack again. If he flies, stay
underneath him, except when he is landing. After awhile, he will burrow into
the ground. If this happens, activate the map to see where he is and try to
dodge him. About the second time he does this, he may change direction and
try to hit you. You will eventually defeat him. Remember to use Resta when
you are weak. As long as you have TP, you will survive. Also, you can try
casting Shifta and Deband, Jellen and Zalure. If you have a Varuna (MAG),
Kalki or a Vritia, it casts Shifta and Deband for you, even if you do not
have it.
Hint:
Defeating Dubchics: Notice that they return to life. After killing a Dubchic, a brown
orb with yellow rings around it should fall to the ground somewhere in that
area. Destroy it and all the Dubchics will be destroyed.
If you find a room with
Dubchics and they keep coming back to life, keep attacking them for about
three minutes. They will actually die and you will get experience from them.
Hint:
Defeating Garanz: When you are in Mine 2, you will probably encounter a Garanz.
When he shoots his missile, run behind him and he will eventually kill
himself. Note: You can get extra experience when this happens.
When fighting with a Garanz or
Baranz (depending on your level), lead them into a wall. When close enough,
the missiles they shoot at you should go straight into the wall. This will
allow you to attack the Garanz with no danger of being hit.
Hint:
Defeating Gol Dragon: You should be about level 15 if you are a Hunter and have Resta,
an Autogun, and Monofluids to restore your MP. When starting the fight, keep
shooting at any part of his body. When he is up in the air and is about to
land, get away from him or the rising floor will hurt you. His first attack
on the ground should be an elemental breath attack. It consists of a fire
breath (the weakest one), an ice breath which freezes you (the most
dangerous as you can easily die while you are frozen), and a lightning
breath which paralyzes you for a short while. When he does the breath
attack, walk towards him until you are under his attack and shoot at one of
his body parts. He should eventually take flight again. If he starts
spinning in the air, then he is using his elemental ball attack. Like the
breath, it consists of fire, ice (still the most dangerous), and lightning.
During this time, try to evade as many as you can and heal if needed. After
this, he will land again. Keep repeating the previous steps until he roars
and goes underground. When he re-appears, there will be two of him.
Fortunately, one of them is a mirage but it can still hurt you. You can tell
if one is a mirage by killing it. When a mirage dies, you will see a bluish
flash and it will disappear. The mirages also have a lot less HP. If you
kill a mirage, the real one will be by itself again. Just keep attacking and
evading as best as you can until it is dead.
Hint:
Defeating Monests: Using any type of handgun on a Monest in a three combo weak
attack will cause it to endlessly recoil and not produce any Mothmants.
Hint:
Defeating Nano Dragons: Use Zonde and it will either fly up then down, or use its beam
attack. If you are fighting three of them, you can stay out of the way or
exit the room. They should then start to attack each other.
Hint:
Defeating Pofuilly Slimes: It takes a long time to kill a Pofuilly Slime. Instead of having
to hit it once waiting for it to pop up again, use a paralyzing or freezing
weapon.
Hint:
Defeating Rag Rappys: When you see a Rag Rappy sitting, quickly hit it with a ranged
weapon. It will run. You can hit it again to get an item.
Hint:
Defeating Volt Opt: Volt Opt is more difficult than in the Dreamcast version of the
game. If you are an Android, you will get shorted about 8 out of 10 times
that he shocks you in his first form. Kill the center thing that hangs off
the ceiling. Once that is down, shocks stop occurring more often. Shoot Volt
Opt in the monitors when you see him. When the poles appear from the ground,
find the red pole and take it out. If not, you will get a nasty shock that
could short you out for awhile. Repeat these steps with 10 Monomates and 10
Dimates and you should be fine. Once his first form is done, he will become
a huge red robot and have multiple attacks (but no more shocking). He
usually starts by turning his missile pods towards you, and fires them after
three seconds. You can avoid the missile by running around Volt Opt (get a
3-hit combo in before he fires them, then run). He will then turn his laser
sights on you. Do another 3-hit combo and run. Keep running and when you
hear him powering up, he will drop a huge pole on you. He does this three
times. Yet again, you can avoid this by running. He will chase you with the
laser sights twice. After that, he will heal himself by about 40. During
this time, attack him heavily. He will then switch over to his front and
shoot a floating ball at you. Do not stop running or you will be imprisoned
in dirt wall while he charges up to do his ultimate attack. If you get hit
with this ball in multi-player or online mode, call someone over to. They
can get you out by attacking the dirt walls. Repeat this to defeat him and
get good experience.
This trick applies to forces
only. When fighting Volt Opt, make sure you have Gizonde and a lot of
Dimates. When Volt Opt hovers past the screen, use Gizonde three times on
each screen (when you are about level 15-20). It will break each screen,
doing lots of damage to him. You can do this to up to three screens at a
time, even the ones he does not stop at. Do not worry about the thing in the
middle; just let it paralyze you and heal afterwards.
Hint:
Defeating invisible enemies: Immediately after a warp, a few bluish transparent streaks will
appear where the beast has transported. That is where it will be, and you
can strike it down.
Hint:
See Boss die: If you want to see the Boss die without the intermission
sequence, generate a photon blast and use it immediately as the sequence
starts. The animation for the photon blast will stop the intermission of the
Boss dying. When the blast is done, you will see the Boss die in regular
view.
Hint:
Easy experience: Go to the Mines under the highest difficulty setting possible as
a Human or Newman. Once you find a ring of floating enemies Ryuker back to
Pioneer 2. Put Ryuker and Gizonde (Normal to Very Hard) or Rafoie (Ultimate)
on your customized attack menu. When you warp back to the Mines, cast Ryuker
and proceed to cast the spell mentioned previously until all the enemies
explode, except for the leader in the center. Before the leader of the ring
warps away, you warp back to Pioneer 2 through the Ryuker you cast when
entering. When you get back, heal for 10 Meseta if needed; otherwise get
back in. When you return to the Mines, the ring of enemies will return
because the leader was never killed or left the room. Set another Ryuker and
repeat this for awhile. It may be boring, but if you are trying to catch up
to friends or starting to get into the doldrums of Ultimate, then this is a
very fast way to level up.
Hint:
Quicker technique levels: Use the following trick to gain higher levels of techniques
without waiting for your levels to add up when you cannot find MIND
Materials that often. First, have an armor that has four slots. It does not
have to be the best one. Take four Angel Minds + or ++ and equip these to
your armor. Then, equip a weapon that increases your mind stats. Your mind
stats will jump at least 64 points, up to 68 with the Angel Minds alone. Add
the stats from your weapon, and you can then take on new techniques. Use
them to gain the "spell", then unequip everything. Your stats will
drop back down to normal but you will still know the techniques. If you are
lucky, you can take a MAG, increase its mind stats, and equip that MAG,
adding an extra 100 points to gain even more technique levels.
Hint:
Using advanced weapons early: Evolve a Mag by a higher level character. Then, go into
multi-player mode with a lower level character. Drop that Mag and have the
lower level character also drop his Mag. Pick up the opposite Mags. Note:
Rudra boosts ATP, while Kailki boosts MST.
Hint:
Turn animal body parts into weapons: D the Doc's Secret Plan quest. Before you start the quest, talk
to Dr. Montague then finish the quest. After you are done, go to the
Unsealed Door quest. Do not go to Portal. Make sure you have your animal
body part with you. Dr. Montague will be next to the portal that takes you
to the principal. Talk to him and he will turn your item into a weapon.
Hint:
Recover from Grass Assassin attack: If you have been stuck by A Grass Assassin, you cannot move. If
you want to attack from either side or behind you, usually you cannot.
However if you hold the direction you want to attack from then press the
button to attack, you will be able to attack in this direction, even if
stuck by the Grass Assassin's attack.
Hint:
Cheap kills: If you are having trouble in a room, try running out of it and go
back in. Some monsters will probably go into a dormant mode and allow you to
get off a hit or two before they retaliate. This is especially useful
against Garanz.
Hint:
Refill health: If you are a robot in the game, you can refill your health after
receiving damage from an enemy. Find a safe place to rest and remain in that
spot for a least a minute. Your health meter will go up a little bit at a
time.
If you are playing as a Froce
or a Newman, you have the ability to refill your TP. Find a safe place and
wait for it to go up.
If your short on money or just
do not want to pay the 10 Meseta to heal, go to the Hunter's Guild. Once
there, talk to the person behind the counter. Then choose and start any
mission. Once the mission is loaded, your HP/TP are fully healed. Talk to
the person behind the counter again, and choose to cancel the mission. Note:
This is useful if you want to do an area again, such as the Forests, without
having to reset the game. Once you are ready, talk to the person at the
Hunter's Guild that is behind the counter. Choose "Load", then
quit any mission and all areas will have been reset.
Hint:
Fighting invisible enemies: Use the environment to help you. Enemies such as Sinow Zoa can
easily be spotted by their reflections on glass or water, as well as the
targeting system. However, that can be unreliable at times.
Hint:
Dodging De Rol Le's Energy Balls: After De Rol Le has shot his timed mines onto the raft, go to the
upper right hand corner of the raft and face directly to the corner at the
edge. Do not move until De Rol Le is done with the energy balls. This works
about 80% of the time. If you are online, this may not work because other
players may do the same thing. It only works if one person is in the corner.
Hint:
Resta Dodge: If you time the technique Resta correctly, you can avoid almost
any attack. The trick is to just cast Resta before your enemy attacks, but
long enough that you can gain life; otherwise you will just get hit.
Hint:
Easy Meseta: This trick requires an empty file and two controllers. Create a
new file, give the character any name, face, color, etc. Return to the
player screen and select multi-player. Have the new person drop the items.
You should get 300 Meseta some Monomates, Monofluid, and a Mag. Keep
repeating this until you can buy the item you want.
If you are at a very high
level, there is a quest found in the Ruins where you have to test out a
weapon which will give you 9,000 Meseta each time, and it only takes about
five minutes.
Open a new character file, then
create a character that you do not care about. Have them go into a two
player game, then have them sell all of their items. Make them give you all
their money.
First, make a character that
you will use all the time. Then, make a second character. With both
characters, complete all the Quests (for the forest). Then, go into
multi-player mode and give the first character every item from the second
character. Note: This will get you extra Monomate, Monofluid, Monogrinder,
and possibly Digrinder.
Hint:
Easy HP or TP: To refill any HP or TP bar, start any quest/mission at the
Hunters Guild in Episode 1 offline. Then, have the woman make a note to
cancel the job.
Hint:
Easy level gain: If you want to gain some levels without much effort and are
around a 25 to 40 level range, try going the forest levels under the hard
difficulty setting. You can usually get about 8,000 experience points from
it.
Find someone who has played the
game longer than you have. Ask them if they can give you a high powered Mag.
With this Mag, you can start using weapons from the Ruins (if it is at a
high enough level). Also, you can join in a multi-player effort. If you are
a Ranger, you will have an easier time then a Hunter. When a teammate has
weakened a monster, aim and go for the kill shot. You should move up levels
easily.
Since Hunters are naturally
stronger than Forces and Rangers, they have an advantage. To gain levels
quicker, defeat the Caves 3 boss. Hunters can use an effective Sword or
Partisan against him by hitting all of his parts. After that, talk to the
Priciple and go to Mines 1. You can now do a great deal of damage on the
Mine 1 enemies. They are weak. The only three to watch out for are Sinow
Gold, Sinow Beat, and Granas. The basic enemies in the mines area give about
15 to 22 experience points. By the time you get to Mines 2, you should have
already gained a couple of levels. Mines 2 also offer a great deal of
experience.
Go to the Forest (under the
hard, very hard, or ultimate difficulty settings depending on your level).
Enter a room which has a Monest (or Mothvist in ultimate) and killall the
Mosquitoes without killing the nest. Once the nest stops spitting out
mosquitoes, return to town via Telepipe or Ryuker. Return. The nest will
spit out more mosquitoes. The experience given varies depending on
difficulty, but the ultimate mode mosquitoes give about 230 experience
points each.
Play in multi-player mode with
a group of either high levels or low levels. Play through the game as you
would in solo mode. Many of the monsters are harder to defeat, and you will
get five points extra experience per how many people are on your team. By
the time you complete the game you should be at level 20 or higher,
depending how many monsters you have killed. Note: When you make it to hard
mode, you will start finding special weapons earlier because your luck
points are being evaluated as a team and not individually. Then, when you
play in solo mode you will be able to pass through it without problems.
Use a weapon that can confuse
an enemy. Use it on a Honest and when the little fly things appear, they
will be confused and will kill each other giving you the experience.
When you fight a Pofuilly
Slime, use Barta or another Ice technique on it. The enemy will duplicate
into two. You can then make a copy of the copy (you can only make one copy
of the original). You can create a total of six Pofuilly Slime. The copies
will give you double the experience of a normal one.
If your gun has a name with
"Master", "Lord", or "King" you will be able
to equip a bullet that takes experience from an enemy on all your shots.
Some guns also have other abilities.
If you are at a low level and
need experience, redo the forest level repeatedly. At the end of the level,
do not talk to the principal. Choose to quit the game, then start the game
again. All of the creatures will be there again, as well as the items. This
will work in any level.
Use this trick If you are at a
low level and need more experience. Join or create a team with people that
are at high levels, or make sure people with high levels join your room if
you create one. Have them accompany you to defeat enemies. Hit each enemy at
least once. After hitting the enemy, run and let your teammate defeat it.
When the enemy dies, you will gain experience. Do this as many times as
desired. Note: Do not die and return to Pioneer 2 or this trick will not
work.
Get Red Mechguns, and after
completing the Two Towers quest, add the King attribute. Doing this will
possibly be the fastest level up imaginable.
Hint:
Easy materials: Get a character that can easily kill monsters in the Normal
Ruins. Take him, and go through every Ruins under the normal difficulty
setting. You should be able to find, on average, five materials. Def
Materials and Mind Materials are more commonly dropped because certain
creatures seem to drop them more. This is also a good way to improve lower
level characters. Take all material found and give them to that low level
character in Multimode.
Hint:
Easier Boss battles: If you are having trouble with Bosses and want to avoid going
through the enter level again after dying, use this trick. Use a Telepipe or
the Ryuker technique at the entrance to the Boss. If you die, then you can
just go over to the bank and find the teleport that you made. Go through it,
and you will get back to the Boss.
To kill the Bosses from the
forest, cave, and mines faster, you can use weapons like the Saucer or use
Rares such as Slicer Of Assassin. Keep using hard attacks, and in about ten
minutes it should be dead.
This trick requires the
techniques Fole and Barta. Go into the Boss' lair and start attacking it
with heavy and normal attacks. When you hit the Boss at least twenty times,
start using the Fole technique (a fireball) or Barta (a freezing technique)
until the Boss is dead. This should take about ten minutes. Make sure you
have many Monofluids and the technique on your action menu.
Note: This trick only works
with characters that can use throwing weapons such as the Slicer, Spinner,
Rappy's Fan, etc. Equip the throwing weapon. Then, go to the Boss for the
Forest, the Caves, the Mines, the Temple, the Spaceship, or the Central
Control Area. This will not work for Dark Falz or Olga Flow. Stand in front
of the Boss so that as much of them is in front of you. Then, repeatedly
perform Heavy Attacks (use Special Attacks if they do more damage and you
have a high accuracy stat). The weapon will travel along the entire length
of the Boss, repeatedly hitting them. Note: This also works to a limited
effect with guns that can shoot multiple enemies.
Hint:
Easy kills: In some areas, (particularly Seabed), a fence will block your
path and you must go around it. Note: These are not the electronic fences.
Some enemies, due to their low AI, will keep walking into the fence. You can
easily hit them with techniques like Foie or a long reach weapon like a
Partisan.
Use the following trick to
force enemies back. It only works with guns. Equip any gun. When you get to
an enemy, perform Heavy Attacks. This will force the enemy back slightly.
This is most effective when you have a low attack power and a group of
enemies is moving towards you. It will keep them away while you kill them.
Hint:
Hunters Guild missions: If you successfully complete all the Hunters Guild missions, you
will have access to all of the missions all over again. If you complete the
mission again, you will be able to keep playing it repeatedly.
Hint:
Weapons from monsters:
If you obtain a special item
such as G-Assassins Arms or Bomma's Right Arm, go to the Unsealed Door
mission. Talk to the person standing to the right of the portal to the
principal after all missions are complete. He will turn your item into a
weapon.
Guilty Light is a very
powerful photon launcher. You can get one from a Hidelt, the Ultimate form
of Hildebear.
For a Rappy's Fan, take a
Rappy's Wing to Montague. It is a rare slicer.
Talis is a Cane type weapon.
A Chaos S. in Ruins Three will drop it under the Very Hard difficulty
setting.
Graviton Plate is heavy
armor. A Gillchick will drop it under the Very Hard difficulty setting.
A Nano Dragon will drop a Red
Slicer under the Ultimate difficulty setting.
Hint:
Finding rare weapons: The best place to find rare weapons are at the Dragon (Episode I)
under hard mode. You can find such weapons as Crush Bullets and Musashis.
Its recommended that you enter hard mode at level 30 or high to be
effective..
If you are level 20 or higher,
choose the hard difficulty setting. Then, go to the warp and go to Forest 1
and 2. Over here, you should be able to find a very special weapon. If you
do not find it here, you will most likely be able to find it in the caves.
Once you have it, go to the Tekker or the person that reveals what a unknown
item is. Take it to him, and he will probably be able to figure out what it
is. Most likely, you will not be able to use this item if you just turned
level 20.
Some rares are only for one
single ID. However, when you enter a guild quest, the atom represents your
ID for that quest. Press A when the atom appears to change your ID
for that mission. This allows you to get the ID only weapons.

Hint:
Finding Dragonslayers: You can find Dragonslayers in a multi-player game under the
ultimate difficulty setting. Use a Redria character and an Oran character.
The Redria will find lots of weapons and the Oran can get them tekked. You
can find lots of Dragonslayers and Cross Scars.
Hint:
Finding Pouilly Slime: Note: This trick works best with the Forces or any character with
any Ice-related attacks. When you are in Caves 1 through 3, you will find
the Pofuilly Slimes. Attack them with the Ice attack and they will
duplicate. Repeat this until you find a Pouilly Slime. They are red and will
usually drop Resist/Light. Each Slime will only duplicate once, and if all
of them stop duplicating, use a Telipipe/Ryuker and leave the board. Return
and they should start duplicating again.
To find a Pouilly Slime (red,
not the blue), have a weapon with either an Ice attribute (Ice, Freeze,
Blizzard, etc.) or Fire attribute (Fire, Burning, Flame, etc.) and use the
extra attack on the monster. There is a good chance the first hit will miss,
but will cause it to make three circles, each within another, appear in the
middle of its body. Use the extra attack again at anytime while the circles
are present, and another slime will appear. Note: A Pouilly Slime will not
always appear.
Hint: Sonic
Adventure 2 Battle reference: Do "The Fake In Yellow" quest. After speaking to the
scientist for the third time, go back and talk to the person who briefed you
on the mission. Do not get the Mesta. After talking to him, go back through
the portal. There will be three Rag Rappys that you can talk to. Stand
against the wall with the waterfall in the background. Soon, a Chao will
appear. After it talks to you, go back to Pioneer 2. There will be a Game
Boy Advance on a pole where you can download games from a Game Boy Advance.
If you download the Chao Garden
data and upload the Chao to the Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Chao Garden, you
will get a rare Tails Chao.
Hint:
Game Boy Advance downloads: Complete the following tasks when playing an online quest to
unlock a min-game that can be downloaded through the 'Pioneer Warehouse'
online quest.
Chu Chu Rocket: Finish the
Reach For The Dream quest with an "S" rank.
Nights: Finish the Dream Messenger quest.
Puyo Pop: Play the Gallon's Shop quest and touch the glowing orb (near the
Medical Center).
Glitch:
Blind enemies: In a level such as the Mines, are Sinow Beats and Golds. Try
walking against the wall of a room. If done correctly, the Sinow will act as
if you went out of the room and will warp back to their starting point. You
can then simply kill them from there, and they will not attack.
Glitch:
Forest dragon: This trick works on all dragon difficulty settings. When the
Dragon starts diving into the floor, he makes a lava hole. If you stand
right on the edge of this hole without touching the actual lava, but are as
close to it as you can when the dragon charges at you underground, he goes
straight through you without hitting you. This works because when the dragon
collides with the hole nothing happens, and when you stand on the hole, you
are considered part of it.
Glitch:
Play as Dragon: If you have a red cursor for your character, you can be the
Dragon in the Forest level. Find someone to play with, and start the Towards
The Future mission. Talk to the girl by the bank and get the code that she
has. Then, go to the machine in the Forest and talk to it. When you go into
the Boss room, you will be the Dragon. Note: You will die when the Dragon
does.
