Kongo Jungle stage:
Successfully complete the game in 15 Minute Spar mode.

The easiest way to unlock the Kongo Jungle stage is to choose a 15 Minute Spar in stadium on one player mode. Play as Donkey Kong and stand on the bottom panel of the stage in the middle. Do the Hand Slap (Down + B) and hold it for the entire 15 minutes.

Mushroom Kingdom II stage:

Alternately, successfully complete adventure mode with five characters.

Poke Floats stage:

Alternately, play 200 multi-player matches.

Yoshi's Island stage:
Hit over 1314 feet in homerun derby mode with any character.

When this stage is unlocked, Yoshi's shield will be a Yoshi egg.

Random stage select:
To unlock the "Random Stage Select" option in Additional Melee Rules, first unlock all of the stages except Battlefield, Final Destination, and the three Past Stages. This allows you to decide which stages will be included and which will be omitted when you randomly select a stage.

Alternately, complete classic mode with all characters.

All-Star mode stages:
Every character in All-Star mode has a specific stage you fight them in, even if it is not their stage. Eventually, you will fight two opponents at a time, and then three opponents at a time. Use the following trick to find out what stage you are going fight in. On the little path with the three hearts and the teleporter to the next fight, there are small TV screens that appear behind the teleporter. These screens show you what opponent(s) you are fighting next. When it shows two opponents, you will be in the stage of the one on the left. When it shows three opponents, you will be in the stage of the opponent in the middle.

Yoshi Island stage preview:
Zoom in closely on the Metal Mario trophy. You can see what vaguely looks like a picture of the Yoshi's Island stage.

Big Blue or Mute City stages: Hidden mines:
Once you get a Motion-Sensor Bomb, throw it on the platform that you fight on. If it does not explode before the platform goes under the track, if you step where it was it will blow up.

Big Blue stage: Cameo appearances:
While fighting on the racers, look for car number 7, the Blue Falcon (Captain Falcon's racer). Also look for other F-Zero and F-Zero X cameos as well, for example Red Gazelle. Note: They also appear in Mute City, but you need a very quick eye to see them.

Big Blue stage: Run with the cars:
Select "Giant Melee" under "Special Melee". Next, choose either Fox (recommended), Falco, or Captain Falcon. Put on Bunny Hoods only. Then, go to Big Blue and get a Bunny Hood. Go down on the track and run as fast as you can. If done correctly, you should be able to run as fast as or faster than the cars.

Brinstar stage: Split level:
While fighting in the Brinstar level, you can see some cell-like objects on the bottom piece of rock near the right half of the level. Use Fox's Down + B attack to destroy the cylinders and cause the level to split in half.

You have to destroy all the cylinders on a pocket near the right-hand of the field. Use Down + A attacks as well as Pokemon and some B moves with certain characters.

This trick works best with a good smashing character. Enter the Brinstar stage in any mode (multi-player mode recommended). There are three interactive breaking points on this stage. The first two are the same; they hold up the left and right platforms and look like pinking appendages. If you break them, the platforms will drop diagonally. The last is on the bottom of the stage. This part is best done with a bombing character (for example, Bowser or Yoshi). You will notice about ten greenish cylinders in a flat pile on top of each other. Bomb the cylinders enough, and they will separate then the stage comes apart. This looks very effective but the broken pieces regenerate after awhile.

Brinstar stage: Easy points:
Hit Samus until she gets to about 80% damage. Also damage yourself to about 80% damage. When the lava rises, make Samus get hit. She should fly off the screen. Then, do the same thing before she dies. You will get the Comet Mystic and Lava Clear bonuses and keep your life.

Brinstar stage: Fall through acid:
Go to Giant Melee under "Special Melee". Go to Item Switch and put only Super Mushrooms. Go to Brinstar and get a Super Mushroom. Once you are that big, wait for the acid to come up and go on it. You will actually fall through the acid. It is almost impossible to get back up unless the acid is just about to go back down.

Corneria stage: Destroy Great Fox's guns:
Go to the Corneria stage with any character. Go down to the guns directly under the front of the ship. Do an attack that will connect with the guns. Do this enough times and the guns will explode. Now no one can stand on them after a fall and recover. Be careful, as while you are trying to do this, the guns might charge and send you flying.

Play as Fox and walk him over the edge with the guns. Jump two times and then press Analog-stick Up + B. You will hit the guns and a flash will appear on them. Then, press Analog-stick Down + A and that flash will appear again. Repeat this a couple of times and the guns will explode. However, when you do this you will fall through the guns and die.

Corneria stage: Avoid falling:
If you are falling, jump up onto the guns on the bottom left side of the stage if you cannot reach the edge.

Corneria or Venom stages: Listen to Corneria transmissions:
Play as Fox or Falco. Press Down, and if done correctly, you will be able to hear transmissions from your fellow wingmen.

Corneria or Venom stages: Wingmen backup:
Select Fox or Falco. Call the team by pressing Left, Right, Left, Right. If done correctly, Fox will kneel and mumble some things into his communicator. The team will appear, with a small chance that their Arwings will open fire on any or all opponents. This does not decrease the chance of you getting hit yourself.

Corneria: General Pepper billboards:
When you are on Fox's ship flying over the city, look over the edge. You may have to pause and zoom in. On some of the billboards, there are pictures of General Pepper from the Starfox series.

Flatzone stage: Alternate pause screen:
To get a different pause screen, go into the Flatzone screen and pause game play.

Flatzone stage: Game And Watch system:
Pause game play in the stage and zoom out to see that you are fighting in a Game And Watch system.

Flatzone stage: Tool kill:
Hit the falling tools towards your opponent. Your opponent will die nearly every time.

Fourside stage: Instant KO:
Start a game in versus mode with Yoshi as the CPU player. Make sure he is on level nine and begin the match. Yoshi should make a short jump and narrowly miss the side of the building. His move is one which disables him from any further jumps, so he instantly falls to his death. Note: Only use one Yoshi because the game will start him far away from you at the problematic building.

Kirby's Final Cutter (Up + B) has the ability to blow up opponent downwards when he falls back. Using this trick, go to the Fourside stage and stand on either end of the central building. When your opponent jumps between the building use Final Cutter. If successful, you can blow anybody down to death with no hope. There is no way to recover when an opponent performs this trick.

Kirby Past stage: King Dedede appearance:
Look closely in the background. King Dedede from the Kirby games is floating in the background. He floats all around the background, so he may be behind Wispy, the tree.

Kongo Jungle: Klap Trap cannon:
Play in melee mode and select DK Island: Kongo Jungle. Sometimes when the Klap Trap is flopping down the river, it can fall in the cannon and blast in the center of the stage or on the sides.

Jungle Japes: Cranky Kong reference:
Look in the window of the house in the stage to see the silhouette of Cranky Kong moving back and forth.

Mushroom Kingdom: Danger sign:
Select versus mode and go to melee. Pause to the very left or right of the stage then press the Analog-stick Left or Right to see a danger sign.

Mushroom Kingdom: Easy items:
Find the location with a group of brick blocks and "?" blocks (if you have the items on option set). You can get many items with the items on option in versus mode. Break all of the blocks and they will return as "?" blocks.

Mushroom Kingdom II: Powerful weapon:
Catch Birdo's eggs then throw them at your enemies. It will almost always kill them.

Mute City stage: Destroy the F-Zero racers:
Place motion sensor bombs on the track. If the F-Zero racers hit the motion sensor bombs, they will explode, leaving a black cloud of smoke. You can also blow them up with strong smash and special attacks, such as the Falcon Punch or the Donkey Kong Punch.

Onett stage: Van message:
Go to the right of the Onett stage and take a look at the Onett Message Board. It should have a warning message about a guy in a black van driving recklessly through the town. However, if you take a close look at the black van when it passes, able to hit you, it says "RUNAWAY", as in the Runaway Five, a band famous throughout Eagleland.

Onett stage: Message on sign:
In multi-player mode, there is a blue house with colorful flags on it. To the right of the house is a skinny tree. Get in front of it then press Start. Turn the camera to the right to read the message on the sign.

Pokemon Stadium stage: Alternate appearance:
Play a match and once displays the leader of the match and the time remaining at the back of the screen, you will see a small flashing icon. When you see this, the stage will change to the element of rock, water, fire, or grass. Note: This does not work in training mode.

Yoshi's Story stage: Extra food:
Go to versus mode with any character and select the Yoshi's Story stage. When Fly Guys appear, jump and kick them. They will drop the food they are carrying. You can also use other moves, and even throw items at them, however jumping and kicking them works the best.

Trophies

Trophy arrangements:
Hold L and enter the Collection to arrange your trophies in rows. Hold R and enter the Collection to arrange trophies in a circle. Hold Y and enter the Collection to arrange the trophies in a triangle.

Trophy list scroll:
Press X to scroll down your trophy list, or press Y to scroll up.

Trophies:
The trophies that you win in adventure mode are different than the ones won in classic mode. The ones in classic mode give you tips about the character(s) who have won adventure mode.

Each character has three trophies, one standard and two smash. To get the standard trophy, complete classic mode with that character. To get the smash trophies, complete adventure and all-star modes with that character.

In the Underground Maze level in adventure mode, do a throw move on almost anything (such as Likes, Octoroks, and ReDeads). There is a good chance a trophy will appear.

There are trophies for all the Nintendo fighters. There are two for each, Smash trophies, and Regular trophies. To attain Smash trophies, complete adventure mode with any character. To acquire a Regular character trophy, complete the classic mode with that character. Regular trophies give a description about the character and tell which game/country they are from. Smash trophies list two of the character's attacks and attributes.

Go to training mode and select Link as your character playing against any other character. Go to the Great Fox level with the frontal view. Set your opponent on "Evade" and get him or her to drop to the lower wing. Once your opponent is down there, change them to "Stand". Push him or her cornered to the side of the Great Fox. It helps to put on three characters, because one will appear behind you on that lower wing and you can push him towards the other opponent you have cornered. That one will act as a barricade to keep you from moving backwards as fast, but is not a necessity. Repeatedly press A while against the cornered opponent until you start swinging the sword wildly. If you press Abutton fast enough, you can get as much as 49 combos.

When you are in the lottery for trophies and have about 10% or less chance of getting a new trophy, raise the amount of coins that you are putting into the machine. Your percent of getting a new trophy can go from 0.07% to 99.9%. It varies by the amount of coins added to be put into the machine.

When you go to the lottery and have a low percentage, insert one coin and hold as many buttons as possible. You will get a new trophy about 50% of the time. If it is a very low percentage, add more coins until it gets to at least 10 to 15%. You will save coins and get new trophies.

The easiest way to get all the trophies is to play classic, adventure, or all-star mode. Each time you complete the game with a character, you will unlock that trophy. Also save your coins and enter them one by one in the lottery machine, even if you get repeats. The easiest way to get coins is to complete the classic, adventure, and all-star mode with all characters; unlock all the levels; and complete all the events. When you complete a special event you can unlock a new level or trophy. By completing the game with all characters, you can get well over 150 trophies. The other 50 trophies appear at random in the lottery or during game play (look for trophies laying about).

Keep repeating Pikachu's A move while moving the CPU with controller two towards Pikachu.

Try getting it from the trophy machine in Lottery.

Motion-Sensor Bomb trophy:

Mr. Resetti trophy:
Kill more than five CPU opponents in cruel melee mode. Mr. Resetti is a little mole-like character with a miner's hat and a pick ax. It is marked as "future release" and when you reset in the future for any reason he will lecture you.

To get the Mr. Resetti trophy easier, select Kirby. On one side of the stage, jump as high as possible then slam on opponents. Quickly maneuver to the other side and do it again. Repeat this back and forth to take off enough damage to kill more than five CPU opponents.

An alternate way to get the Mr. Resetti trophy is to pick Pikachu and jump to the left platform. Use his Lightning attack (Down + B) to hit two, or possibly three, of the wire frames. Then, jump continuously and continue using the Lightning attack until you are knocked off the stage.

Another way is to play as Roy in Cruel Melee. When the match starts keep using your Up + B attack on them, as it is very effective. However it is still very difficult not to get hit too much.

Mute City trophy:
Get over 10,000 meters as the total distance walked by characters.

Paper Mario trophy:
Hit over 1476 feet in homerun derby mode.

Sandbag trophy:

Barrel Cannon trophy message:
Look at the bottom of the Barrel Cannon trophy. You will see the message "2L84ME" (too late for me).

Revealing Princess Peach adventure mode trophy:
The Princess Peach adventure mode trophy is the only one that you can rotate to see her underwear under her dress. This also can be done with the Zelda Adventure trophy.

Third eye on Daisy trophy:
Go to the trophy gallery. Go to the Daisy trophy and zoom in on her forehead. Turn to the back of her head then tilt the trophy over so that you see the bottom of the trophy. You will encounter Daisy's third eye. Keep zooming in until you see it.

Earring on Link trophies:
On any trophy of Link, zoom in on his ear. If you look closely, you can see his earring just as it appears in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Mario symbol on Racing Kart trophy:
Zoom in on the middle of the Racing Kart trophy's steering wheel. You can see the red "M" Mario symbol.

Super Metroid reference on Metroid trophy:
Look at the Metroid trophy. Zoom into the trophy as far as you can. Make sure the brain of the Metroid is low, and not high on the screen. Take a very close look at the picture. You can see an elevator from Super Metroid. If not, try viewing from the sides or look a lot closer.

Game systems:
Go to the Trophies section and select "Gallery". Look back at the wall. You should see two Game Boy Colors, an Nintendo 64, a Super Nintendo, a Gamecube, and a Donkey Kong game.

Alternate game systems:
Set the language to "Japanese", then go to the trophy collection. While you move the camera around in the background, you can see the Virtual Boy and the original Japanese Famicom systems.

Hidden trophy appearance in adventure mode:
When playing in adventure mode, when you find a trophy and get near it press Start to zoom in on the trophy. A "?" will appear on it to keep you from seeing what the trophy looks like.

Disappearing trophy:
In adventure mode, when you get to the part where there are platforms with Koopas and Goombas over the water, you can see a trophy under one of the platforms. If you go under there to try to get it, the trophy will be gone.

Alternate trophy background:
Zoom in on a trophy, then press Start to change the background.

Events and actions

Extra Events (#31-#39):
Complete the first 30 events and unlock Jigglypuff, Luigi, Dr. Mario, Falco, and Young Link.

Extra Events (#40-#50):
Unlock all characters in the game.

Event #51:
Clear all the other events.

Completing event mode #13 (Yoshi's Egg):
To easily complete event mode #13, pick up the egg then repeatedly jump back and forth over the stage.

While on the boat, just stay away from the egg. Do not worry if you are on the edge, as you have unlimited lives. Once the ship crashes, get the egg and run up the platforms, avoiding the enemies.

Completing event mode #21 (Ice Breakers):
Choose Donkey Kong as your character and begin the Event. Go to the closest pair of Ice Climbers and press Z to Grab. Hopefully you will grab Nana, the one in pink. If you do not, try again until you do. While holding Z, go over to the edge of the castle, jump off, and throw her sideways. She should die, and if you are quick enough with the paddle, try to regain ground. You should have around 30 or 40 seconds left to deal with the other one. This may require a few attempts.

Completing event mode #22 (Super Mario 128):
Use Pikachu and do his Down + A smash the entire time.

Completing event mode #27 (Cold Armor):
Start by running directly to the rightmost part of the level and wait for the Metal Samuses to follow you. When they are directly next to you, jump up and start using your B + Down move on their heads. Instead of using one bomb then falling down, keep bouncing up and you will be able to put down another bomb, which will put you in a loop. Keep doing this until the level starts to turn. When this happen, jump onto one of the small floating islands. Stay here until the little island gets to the bottom. Stay there and the CPU characters should keep killing themselves trying to get to you. If they are not all dead by time the island comes back around, jump at them and start doing the bomb hop again until the island start moving once more. Then, jump on and repeat this again until they are all defeated. If done correctly, you should still have all of your lives and little or no damage.

Completing event mode #29 (Triforce Gathering):
Zelda will help you in your battle. If she gets KO'd, the battle is over. Use your hookshot to reel him in and use a spin attack.

Completing event mode #34 (Seven Years):
Go to the left edge of the rock at the left of the stage while Link is at the other side. Wait for Link to jump above. When he down slashes at you, let him hit you and he will bounce off the rock, making him jump off the stage. Repeat until this event is completed.

Completing event mode #35 (Time for a checkup with Dr. Mario and Peach):
Hang on the edge of the level and they will follow you. Then, use your Up + B attack and they will fall. Try to get up. If Peach is the only one remaining, when she goes after you, fall then hit her with your Z attack. Then, use Up + B again and she will fall first. This may require a few attempts.

Completing event mode # 37 (Legendary Pokemon):
When the event starts, go for the Jigglypuff and KO it because it is the only one who can pick up the Pokeballs. After that, simply defeat the remaining enemies. Note: A good character to choose is Donkey Kong. Use his Down + B attack to quickly KO the enemies.

Completing event mode #42 (Trouble King 2):
In this event, Luigi has to fight a very big Bowser. He is very difficult to defeat. However, when Luigi walks to the right (on Squirtle's neck) and faces left, Bowser will come down. Go little slightly and grab him, but do nothing. In one second, Bowser will repel and fall to his doom. Repeat the same process to complete the event in less than ten seconds.

Completing event mode #45 (Game and Watch Forever):
Go on top of the house in the Flatzone and use Mr. Game and Watch's smash moves (A + Left, A + Down, A + Up, and A + Right) to kill the attacking enemies. This usually works because the enemies only have one way to get to you, from the front, and you will not get any surprise attacks from behind. Note: This may take a few attempts, and you probably will only have one life at the end of the match, if you win.

Completing event mode #49 (All Star Match):
To easily complete this event, use Kirby to suck them in, then walk off a cliff. They should die just before you do, and your death will not count. However, when doing this to Pichu, it will also kill you.

Completing event mode #50 (Final Destination Match):
As Donkey Kong (recommended) or Bowser, continually do the B + Up attack on Master Hand. Each well timed hit should do 30+ damage.

Recommended characters to use in this event are Mewtwo, Mr. Game and Watch, Pichu, Pikachu, Kirby, Link, and Young Link.

Select Falco and start by attacking the left (Crazy) Hand -- do not bother with the right (Master) Hand yet. Jump into the air and press Left or Right + A and Falco will do a multiple kick attack. When one of the Hands comes after you with an attack from the back of the screen, forward jump into the air twice and then press Up + B to do the Fire Bird attack. You should rocket high into the air and well over the Hands. If your timing is good, you should be able to press Down + B and hit the Hand with that attack without any damage. Keep doing Falco's kick attack; eventually you should drain the Hand down to 0%. Kill the left (Crazy) Hand first is because he has the craziest attacks. The right (Master) Hand has somewhat predictable attacks and are a lot easier to avoid. Staying airborne is a great way to dodge a lot of their attacks. Stand off to the side when the left (Crazy) Hand wants to drop bombs or go berserk,. If you feel confident, you can even try attacking the right (Master) Hand, although it is not recommended for most players. When the Hand does the laser attack, do not stay in front and try to avoid getting hit. Instead, try to get behind the Hand and continue doing the kick attack. They can only hit you from the front.

Use Yoshi and his Down + A multiple kick. Each time you hit one of the hands, you can take off roughly 20 to 40 HP. Using this technique, you should have no problems taking out the hands in a few minutes.

Use Ganondorf. Get under Master Hand, since Crazy Hand moves more. Keep doing his Smash Up attack. Do not bother charging. It is more efficient to do it quicker. Move if they attack. Since he hits twice each attack will do about 30 to 50 damage. Once Master Hand is defeated (about 30 seconds), do the same to Crazy Hand. However, make sure to dodge his attacks since they are more powerful. You should be able to defeat it within one and a half minutes. If you practice, you can defeat it within one minute.

Use Ganondorf. Go under the Hands when they are off guard, then tap Up + A to do the Up Smash Attack.

Play as Gannondorf (preferably) or Captain Falcon and do the Up + A attack. When charged up, it will do a lot of damage. Wait for a Hand to do the laser attack.

Use Samus and her Flamethrower attack on one of the Hands until it dies. If you charge it up, it can almost take out a good 50 HP of one of the Hand's life. When one of them is performing the Finger Laser attack, it is a open target for Spin Kicks (A + Up in air). As soon as you kill one Hand, run out of the other Hand's range of attack and fire Charge Beams/Missiles at it. Killing Master Hand first is recommended, as it is harder to hit Crazy Hand with the Flamethrower/Spin Kick attacks. Also, when the Crazy Hand is dropping bombs and going crazy on the floor you can easily fire Missiles/Charge Beam or charge the Charge Beam during the attack.

Choose Roy, and every time they do an attack, use Counter. It should do as much damage as they would have done to you.

In order to defeat the Master Hands easily, pick Princess Peach. Use her ability to float in midair to dodge most of the Hands' attacks, such as the Double Clap, Double Pounce, or the Slap across the screen. With some luck, you will be able to defeat one of them (Master or Crazy Hand), then repeat the process.

Choose Kirby. When the match starts, have them come near you, but do not have them attack. As soon as they are close, float up on top of them and use Down + B. As soon as they get hit, press B to become Kirby again, and press Down. As soon as you land, float back up. Then, when they get up and bunch up, use Down + B again. Keep doing this, and you will usually win. This will work best against Mewtwo and Giga Bowser. Then, if Gannon survives, and the others do not, go head on head with Gannon. He should not be that difficult on his own, however he has a handicap against you.

Completing event mode #51 (The Showdown):
Start the event as Jigglypuff. Immediately start flying and descend upon Giga Bowser and press Down + B to do her Rest attack. If done correctly, it should make a screaming noise and send Bowser flying. Jigglypuff will fall asleep, but she will quickly be attacked by Mewtwo or Ganondorf and will wake up. Keep repeating the process of flying over the stage and using the Rest attack on Bowser until he has lost all three of his lives. It takes at most two Rest attacks to send Bowser off the stage. If you maneuvered this skillfully enough, Jigglypuff should have two lives left and Mewtwo and Ganondorf should each have three. At this point, run to the edge of the stage, wait for your two enemies to follow you, then fly over their heads to the other end of the stage. Repeat this process, flying back and forth across the stage and continually grabbing items to throw at Ganondorf and Mewtwo. If you fly high enough over their heads, they will never reach Jigglypuff and you will take no damage. However, watch out for Ganondorf's jumping grab attack. Look for Pokeballs and other cheap items to hurl at them. It may take a long time, but eventually the two remaining fighters will fall. Keep in mind that hand-to-hand combat does not work well with them, since they have a handicap against you. Cheapness is the key to this event.

Use Jigglypuff and you can easily clobber Giga Bowser, Mewtwo, and Ganondorf. Fly up above them, and when you fall down, use Jigglypuff's B + Down Rest attack when you just barely touch them. Rest will nearly kill them on the first try.

Select Mewtwo. Giga Bowser will always be in the back or middle. Mewtwo or sometimes Ganondorf will always be in the front. Jump up twice and press Z or A(2) to make Mewtwo do his Psychic move. Make sure you hit Giga Bowser in the head and keep moving towards the edge. Giga Bowser will fly to the back and you will be on the other edge. Repeat until Giga Bowser has been defeated three times. If you are lucky, Ganondorf and perhaps Mewtwo will have died at least once. Then, fight as usually to fight both of them. Note This trick is not for beginners.

Knock Giga Bowser off the edge. Sometimes he will try his fire breath on you and fall to his death.

Use Jigglypuff's Rest attack on Giga Bowser to get rid of him. If a motion sensor mine appears, you can either get it yourself or let them get it. They will throw it, and one or more of them will hit it, usually resulting in a rather humorous explosion. This may also give you a few free K.O.s. For Ganondorf and Mewtwo, jump over them continuously and hit them with items. Focus your attack on Ganondorf. He is stupid, but powerful. If he dies first, you do not really need to fear Mewtwo, as a few Smashes or Special attacks will bring him down.

Use Jigglypuff and try her Down + B move to send Giga Bowser flying in only two hits. You must be close to your enemy for this to work. Try to use items to take down Mewtwo and Gannondorf.

Select Kirby. Hang off the edge of the stage, jump off, float back up to the edge, jump off, float back up, and repeat. Hardly any of Gannodorf's, Mewtwo's, or Giga Bowser's moves will hit you. Eventually, if Gannon is closest to you, he will do his Up + B move and fall to his doom, losing a life. If Mewtwo is closest, sometimes he will power up up a psychic wave, Bowser will push him off and Mewtwo will not get back on. Bowser will just jump off and will not be able to get back on. Repeat this method until only one character remains (most likely Mewtwo, as he does not stay on the edge very often). Just jump onto the stage and battle him until he dies, or just jump over him, and wait for items to launch at him.

Select Yoshi. Use his high jump to stay off the ground and repeatedly do the Yoshi Bomb (Down + B). Target Giga Bowser before Gannondorf and Mewtwo.

Start as Fox, wait a moment, then press Down + B and dash through Mewtwo, Giga Bowser, and Ganondorf. Wait until they are all clumped together and near you, then jump off (preferably on the right side). Then use Fire Fox (Up + B) directly toward the trio, hitting them. They should fly slightly up and you will be on the left of them. Fire Fox toward them back and forth until they fly away or, for the impatient, get them to around 150 to 190 each, then Smash them. They will fly off to their doom, and when they return, get them clumped together again. Repeat the Fire Fox technique over until they are gone. Note: This trick can also be used with Falco.

Select Captain Falcon, and do not be afraid to fight. Try to knee Giga Bowser as many times as you can while in mid-air. This will send him flying, and hurt him substantially. Eventually, you will kill him three times and have one or two lives remaining. From here, you must fight Mewtwo and Gannondorf the "old fashioned way," but they are incredibly easy. This strategy requires someone who can recover quickly in a battle while playing.

Use Kirby. At the beginning of the fight, waddle over to the left edge of the stage. Drop off the side and continuously float off the side of the bottom of the stage. Giga Bowser and Ganondorf will humorously trip over each other and fall to their doom. Do this for the remainder of their lives. When the two are gone, simply defeat Mewtwo with the items and your smash attacks.

Start as Fox and jump in the air. Use Fire Fox straight through Giga Bowser. Repeat this continuously until Giga Bowser dies three times. Mines and the guns help a lot when trying to kill Giga Bowser, Mewtwo and Ganondorf. Once Giga Bowser is dead, you should have about one or two lives remaining. Fight Ganondorf and Mewtwo as usual, as if in a normal battle. They are weak without Giga Bowser, and can be defeated in about four to five minutes.

Select Jigglypuff. Take out Giga Bowser first with a rest attack (B, Down). If done correctly, he will die instantly. If not, the second try will kill him. Then, get on the opposite side of Gannondorf and Mewtwo and use Rollout (B). Gannondorf will dodge it, but Mewtwo will get hit while charging his Shadow Ball. It will take about six attempts to defeat him. Finally, use your Sing attack and a few Smash Attacks (A, Right, Left) to finish Gannondorf.

Select Donkey Kong. Take out Giga Bowser first with a few Giant Punches (B). When he goes flying, attack him with another Giant Punch. Repeat this until Giga Bowser has been defeated. Then, take out Gannondorf with Headbutt and Smash attacks while he tries to use his attacks on you. Finally, take out Mewtwo with items, Giant Punches, Headbutts, and Smash attacks.

Select Bowser as your character. Enter the battle and when the first opponent and Giga Bowser (who is almost always in the middle) get in range, use your Fire Breath (B). Keep using it until your breath will no longer reach them. Then, get out of the way by either attacking with Whirling Fortress (Up + B) and sliding on the ground past them, or by jumping and hitting Giga Bowser with the Toward + A attack. After that, use finesse. Whenever they knock you into the air, as you are coming downwards counter with the Bowser Bomb (Down + B). Also, have most, if not all, attacks target Giga Bowser first. Once he is defeated, Mewtwo and Ganondorf will be little trouble. While Giga Bowser is still alive however, avoid his attacks. If you do not do this, the other two are very likely going to join in and triple team you. After Giga Bowser is gone, you can concentrate on the other two. Avoid Ganondorf's attacks, especially Warlock Punch. Mewtwo will go down fairly easily, as his weak defense and light weight will make him very vulnerable to Bowser's incredible brawn. With Ganondorf, try to outmatch his speed by using quick but strong attacks. Your best bets are Whirling Fortress and Fire Breath. Bowser's defense should also allow you to stand even Ganondorf's Greudo Dragon attack at up to 180% if you are lucky. Note: A good way to deliver the final blow against any of the three fighters is to get a "Spin Attack" power-up and throw it at them. They will perform a spin attack and be stunned momentarily. Use this time to perform a Smash Attack and send them flying.

Play as Zelda. At the beginning of the match, walk towards the left side of the platform. Wait a moment for all three of the other characters to come towards you. When they get very close (before they can hit you), do a double jump and then use Zelda's teleportation move (B + Analog-stick Up +Left or Right, depending on which end of the platform you are on) to teleport through the three characters. Keep dodging and teleporting until you get the correct items to throw at or use against them. Some of the best items are those that keep them away from you, but rack up damage, such as a well placed bumper ball, a machine gun attack from the super scope (you do not have enough time to charge it), a red shell, and well placed bombs. If the trio is far enough away, you can even use Zelda's little exploding ball trick (B + Analog-stick Left or Right). Note: Never change into Sheik. Although Sheik may be a better fighter, she cannot teleport as far as Zelda. Running, and not fighting, is the key to this strategy. Try to take out Gigabowser first. Also, if you are skilled, you can bait Gigabowser and Gannondorf into killing themselves. Go to the very edge of the platform, double-jump up and away from the platform, then teleport. If timed correctly, Gigabowser may use the Bowser Bomb to try and kill you and Gannondorf will more than likely try to knee you in mid air. Gannondorf will then be unable to move and fall to his doom, and Bowser will not have any other choice but to die. You can try to get them to do it at any time, but it works best with the Bunny Hood because you can stay well out of their reach. Mewtwo may even fall off once in awhile. Otherwise, fight him one on one after you have killed the other two in order to win.

The easiest way to defeat Giga Bowser, Gannondorf, and Mewtwo is to use the most unlikely character with one of the strongest moves, Jigglypuff. Jump into the air and on the way down, use the Sing attack (Up + B), then hit the opponents with her Rest attack (Down + B) six times each to remove them from the level. Note: If you do not hit the attack correctly, Jigglypuff will go to sleep and be open to attack.

Use Fox, and repeatedly use Fire Fox (Up + B). Aim it at Giga Bowser until he is in the 200s then use Up + A to defeat him. Then, avoid the other two. Find a corner and rapidly press B until they are also very weak. Then once again use Up + A to kill them. Repeat this as many times as needed.

Use Peach. As soon as the match begins, start to float at either the right or left side of the stage. Mewtwo will randomly charge his Shadow Ball as the rest will follow you until they reach the edge of the stage. If done correctly, Mewtwo will eventually fall as he is charging his ball. Even though they are all at level 9, Mewtwo is the stupidest one in the match. He will not stop charging until it is fully charged. He will be pushed off the stage without moving a muscle. Mewtwo may be stupid, but killing him first should increase chances of winning by 50%. Once he is down, never do this again in the exact same match. Ganondorf will have learned your strategy and will use his Dark Dive. It may not be powerful, but he will continuously use it until you get KOed all three times. Instead, go for Giga Bowser. Use your Stiletto Kick (Down + A in air) or your Crown Smack (Forward + A in air). Never smash attacks until Giga Bowser is defeated. Also use Parosol if needed. Giga Bowser is the easiest to kill. Ganondorf is the hardest to destroy. There is no easy way to kill Ganonorf with Peach.

Play as Roy. Hold B and smash Giga Bowser with your B attack. It should do major damage or kill him. Keep doing this and Bowser will soon die. When Bowser is dead, kill Mewtwo and Ganondorf by holding B and smashing them.

Play as Falco or Fox. Use the Up + B attack at Giga Bowser. It will eventually weaken him enough so that you can kill him. Continue doing this until he is gone for good. Defeat Ganondorf next, then kill Mewtwo the same way.

Use Jigglypuff to fly up in the air and press Down + B to send Giga Bowser flying. This may not work the first time, and may need to be repeated. Once Giga Bowser is out of the way, you will have Mewtwo and Ganandorf remaining. Jump high from end to end to avoid from getting hit. Then, wait for good items to KO them.

Adventure mode: Avoid fighting Link:
During adventure mode, there is a level in which you must find the Triforce to end the level. If you encounter Link's Sword though, you must fight Link to proceed. If timed correctly, you can jump over the sword and not have to fight Link. You must jump very high and far if you do not want to encounter him. This can save a lot of time.

In the Underground Maze in adventure mode you will go into certain rooms that have a master sword in them. To avoid fighting the Link in each of those rooms, walk close to the room. The screen should move and it will show if it has the Triforce or the Master Sword. If it does have the Master Sword, run away from the room and find another entrance.

Adventure mode: Link vs. Link:
In the underground temple level, go all the way to the top as Link. There will be platforms. Jump and wait on the top one. Wait for about five to ten seconds and you will go to a level where you fight the wire-framed opponents and Link.

In the Event Level "Link's Adventure", you have to fight a black Link. Some gamers may recognize him as the Water Temple mini-boss from Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. He is actually the final Boss in the second Zelda game created. Even the name of the event refers to this, as the original game was titled Zelda 2: The Adventure Of Link.

Adventure mode: Hide from oncoming cars:
When doing the race stage and you have no place to hide from the oncoming cars, just duck to avoid being hit.

Adventure mode: False room:
In the second walk through level, when you see a room with a sword it is a false room. However, if you see the Triforce, it is the finish. When you have to cross a false room and do not want to fight, jump to the other side.

Adventure mode: Defeating giant Donkey Kong:
Under the very hard difficulty setting, select any character. Dr. Mario is recommended because his Up + B attack kills teams in one hit. In the second stage (Kongo Jungle), after the two little Donkey Kongs you will fight a giant Donkey Kong. When the match starts, do nothing. Almost all of the time, Donkey Kong will do a jump attack of some kind (usually Spinning Fists) over the gap between the main platform and yours and fall in. As an extra bonus, you will get 53,900 bonus points for the level.

Adventure mode: Alternate music:
Choose Roy and the Underground Maze music will be his theme instead of what it normally plays.

All-Star mode: Defeating Luigi:
When fighting Luigi alone, stand still where you are and watch what he does. About 95% of the time, he will dive off the screen and die all by himself. This keeps you from getting hit and reduces the chance of getting killed later in the game.

All-Star mode: Easy win:
Use the following trick to finish the All-Star matches In event mode. Choose Kirby as your character. When the match begins, go to the edge of the stage and face your opponent. Taunt (Up) your opponent until it approaches. Then, use Kirby's sucking power (B) to get them. While your opponent is in Kirby's mouth, turn around, and walk off of the stage. If done correctly, your opponent will die and the screen freezes, preventing Kirby from losing a life. Repeat this until there are no more opponents to defeat.

Defeating Hand:
When battling the Hand with any character, go to the wrist. Use the Up + A attack. Charge as far as you can, then make sure you hit him on the wrist. If done correctly, the battle will be much easier.

Dodging Master Hand moves:

Finger Poke: Dodge Roll three times
Finger Laser: Step behind (near the wrists)
Bullet Fire: Dodge Roll one or three times (depending on HP)
Finger Drill: Use Stone or Jump up (in the air) very high
Slap: Use Stone, Jump up in the air, or Dodge Roll once
Catch, Puncture And Throw: Dodge Roll once
Slap Down: Use Stone
Fist Down: Use Stone, or Dodge Roll four or five times
Finger Spin: Use Stone, or Dodge Roll once
Flying Fist: Use Stone, or Dodge Step once
Walking Fingers: Use Stone, Dodge Step or Roll, or Jump up in the air high.

Your moves are as follows:
Stone: B + Down.
Dodge Roll: R + Left or Right
Dodge Step: R + Down
Jump: X(6) +B +Up or Y(6) + B + Up

Dodging Crazy Hand's moves:
Note: They are same as Master Hand's moves except for the following.

Spider Walk: Use Stone, Jump up in the air (twice), or use Dodge Roll or Step
Berserk: Stand where you are, or use Stone
Bomb Drop: Run left or right, or use Stone

Dodging projectiles:
When in the air, you can dodge any projectile attack or thrown item by pressing R + Left or Right. While on the ground, you can dodge projectiles by pressing R + Down.

Winner Out and Loser Out: Changing characters:
Press Analog-stick Left and Analog-stick Right to change your character and it will show up. If you lose it will return.

Completing 15 Minute Melee:
Start the game as Donkey Kong. Position yourself under the platform on the left or right side of the screen and begin doing his Down + B move to slap the ground. Do this as long as you can. Watch out for bombs, Pokemon, or any other hazards that might break through this great move.

Select Mewtwo then go all the way to the left edge and have your back towards the center of the board. Press B to charge up your Psychic Ball but do not shoot it . Have him keep the ball in his hand. For the most part, the men will chase you. If they approach you closely, they will inflict damage. It will not kill them, so this is not a good thing if you want to accumulate KOs. Note: Keep the controller in your hand because sometimes they will get lucky and hit you -- you can jump back on and do it again. If you have all women there it will be easy -- they will mostly stay in one area.

If you are trying to stay alive for a long time, use either Fox or Kirby. For Kirby, dash and press A. For Fox, dash and press B. They will almost be invincible if this is done repeatedly.

Select Mewtwo as your character. Run to the side of the battlefield. While you are on the far side of the stage and are looking at the edge, press B. Mewtwo will charge up a Shadow Ball. Anyone who touches him will be hurt and knocked in the air. Make sure you keep a close eye on the game, in the event that an enemy throws an item or an attack gets to you.

Completing 100 Man Melee:
Play as Donkey Kong. Stay in the center of the stage, and repeatedly do his Down + B move. After defeating all of the wire opponents, you will face Falco. Defeat him and he will become a playable character.

Use Donkey Kong, and go about five feet from one of the edges. Use the Floor Slap for the rest of the match until all of the wireframes walk into it and die.

Use Donkey Kong and do his Down + B attack until you get to the 100th wire opponent. Then, charge up your giant punch (B attack) and continue this until you defeat the 100th wire opponent.

Use the following trick to avoid getting hit once with 250% damage and flying off into the distance. Select Fox and use his Left + B or Right + B Warp Attack repeatedly. You can avoid damage and the recover time on this move is almost non-existent.

Use Link and go to the center of the stage. Simply use his B + Up attack rapidly.

As Bowser, go to the center of the stage and keep doing the Spinning Fortress.

Use Fox and press B + Right and B + Left to go back and forth across the bottom floor of the level.

Completing Multi-Man Melee:
As Marth or Roy, stay in a corner close to edge, but not on the edge. Continue doing their B move repeatedly. If positioned correctly, this will work most of the time, but some opponents will still get through

Play as Ganondorf or Captain Falcon. Do the Down + B move back and forth across the stage.

Completing Race To The Finish:
Take the middle path, as it is easiest. Take the bottom one if you have Kirby or Jigglypuff. Taking the top path is very difficult.

Completing Underground Maze:
Use the following trick to complete the Underground Maze level in adventure mode with the ReDeads and Octorocs. Select any character. When you start, go to where you jump across to the other side. Instead, jump down until you are at the last platform. Proceed on and you will not have to fight Link. This is a quick and easy way to complete the level.

Completing Break The Targets:
When playing as Young Link, the target in the in the box can be hit with a boomerang. To do so, time the log that is to the right of the box (the one that moves up and down) so that you are at your highest jump just when the log is up. Then, do he boomerang attack to hit the log when it is up. You may want to hold it down very briefly. The boomerang should bounce back, go through the box and hit the target. This may require a few attempts.

As Young Link, for the first target press Up(2), then Up + B. You should break the target. Then, hug the wall and double jump straight up. If you are still hugging the wall, press Left. You should boost to the left. Quickly press Right and you should boost off that wall. Keep boosting off the walls to get to the top. Standing on the right wall, throw your boomerang to the left. When it returns, jump over it. It will break the target in the box. Go down, fall through the arrows, and hit the target. Jump back up through the arrows. Double-jump up and break the two targets. Jump to the top platform to your right and hit the target. Jump back to the left. Wait until you can enter the platform to your right. Hit the target and jump back to the right. Drop down and shoot the target through the space with an arrow. Jump to your left three platforms. Double-jump and throw your boomerang to hit the target below the last one. Double-jump as far left as you can to get below the last one. Spin to break it and win the test.

To do Mario's target test, use your fireballs and your triple jump.

Locate all targets in Break The Targets:
Pause game play anytime during Break The Targets mode. You will be able to see all the targets you have not gotten yet.

Completing Mario 128 event:
Select Donkey Kong, and position yourself in the middle of the stage. Hold Analog-stick Down and rapidly press B. When the Marios approach you, they will be blasted away. Alternately, use Bowser and do his Up + B attack repeatedly.

Select Link and go the center area of the stage, so that the gaps are on either side of you. Use his B + Up attack as the Marios fall on you.

Select and keep using his spinning shell attack (Up + B) until the tiny Marios disappear.

Select Bowser and use the Jump + Down + B move during the entire match.

Completing Puffballs Unite event:
Select Donkey Kong, and position yourself in the middle of the stage. Hold Analog-stick Down and rapidly press B. When the Kirbys approach you, they will be blasted away.

Catching items in mid-air:
This trick only works if you are in mid-air, and not standing on the ground. If someone throws something at you, jump up slightly and press Z to catch it.

When an item is being thrown at you, press Z then A before it hits.

Homeruns:
To hit a long homerun as Yoshi, grab the bat as soon as you can start. Turn around and walk up close to the bag. Tap Jump as lightly as possible so Yoshi jumps no more then the size of the bag, then quickly tap Down + A to make him do his downward multi-kick. You will notice the multi-kick will bump the bag's percentage up 30+. Keep doing the multi-kick until the countdown is at one, then blast him with the bat. It is possible to get over 1700+ feet with this trick.

Select Yoshi and press Start. As soon as the timer starts, turn around and grab the bat. Head for the Sandbag and lightly jump. Press Down + A to rapidly kick, This should do about 33% of damage each. Get your damage percentage to about 130% to 50% then stop before the timer runs out. Press slightly to the right for extra power, and then press Smash + A to hit the ball over 1500 feet.

Select Yoshi and after the round starts, immediately grab the bat, walk up to the bag, and jump directly above it. As you descend, attack the bag with Yoshi's Bicycle Kick (Down + A). At the last second, perform a Homerun Smash with the bat

Play as Yoshi. There will be a bat at the back off the platform -- grab it. Press Up + A, then repeatedly press Down + A when in the air. When the sandbag has 100 to 110%, press over A with the bat. If done correctly, the sandbag will go over 1314 ft.

Select Yoshi, walk up to the bag and press A. This should do about 12%. Next, quickly jump up and do his Down + A move on the bag three times. That should give a total of about 60% damage. Jump up again and press Forward + A to do Yoshi's Headbutt Frontflip. This should make the bag fly straight up in the air. While the bag is in the air, line yourself vertically directly below it. As it is coming down, do the Smash A (Forward + A). If done correctly, you should not hear the squeaky noise that the homerun bat makes when you normally do a Smash Attack. You should hear a normal wood-type noise as when you run and press A to the bag. The bag should fly so high that it goes off the screen for about 250 metres (about 750 feet), then carry on for another 150 metres (about 450 feet). That is enough to get the Sandbag Trophy and the Yoshi's Island stage.

Select Yoshi. When the announcer says "Go", get the bat and do an backward jump over the bag. When in the air, throw the bat up over the bag. When Yoshi touches the ground, immediately do the mid-air Down + A move. Eventually, when the bat hits the bag it will send it away, but when you are doing the Down + A attack, the bat will hit the bag at the same time and it will stay there. Do this twice, then again do the Down + A attack twice. If you are at about 170-175%, it will land about 2000 feet. If you have more than 190%, it will land more than 2,400 feet.

Use Yoshi's Down + A attack on Sandbag until it has taken over 50% damage, then hit it to get over 1,000 feet.

Select Yoshi. Then as quickly and often as you can, keep tapping A + Down. In time you should have the bag at least 200%. Then, just knock it out.

To get over 1,000 feet on the homerun contest with Fox, start shooting the bag with your laser immediately when the timer starts. Keep this up until the timer starts to count down. You should be able to get to 90% damage. Then, quickly grab the bat and swing at it.

When you start homerun mode as Fox, tap B simultaneously until the time runs down to "3". Grab the bat behind you and smash the sandbag. If you tapped B enough, the sandbag will go off the top of the screen, land after the 800 foot mark, and slide.

Choose Fox and keep tapping B until the timers reaches "1". Then, press Down + A to hit the bag with the bat.

Choose Fox as your character. Immediately when you start, shoot Fox's ray gun quickly until the Sandbag's damage is at 60% or above. Then, quickly turn around and grab the bat. Turn back around and press Right + A to do a home-run swing. Note: this must be done quickly or your time will run out.

Select Captain Falcon. Pick up the bat as fast as you can, then keep using Forward + A as many times as possible. Get the sandbag's damage to at least 100%. Use Falcon punch (B) and watch it fly.

Since Captain Falcon's Bat Smash sends the sandbag only 1 foot away, (unless you hold A when swinging), use the bat and smash until it is as close to the edge as possible. When the timer reaches "1", the Falcon Punch. It is possible to punch the sandbag over 1000 feet.

First, pick up the bat with Captain Falcon, then hit the sandbag as many times as you can with the homerun bat before time runs out. At the last second, hit it with the Falcon Punch to send it flying.

Choose Captain Falcon. Pick up the bat, then press A to swing it. After that swing, press Forward + A. When time is about to run out, hold B. The sandbag should have about 165% while it is flying.

Choose Captain Falcon. Get the bat and dash to the bag. Make a double jump (it must be like a single jump), drop the bat, and press Down + A. Before landing on the ground, press L to cancel the animation of landing. After the first one, do seven more as fast as possible. Finally, do your Falcon Punch and the bag should fly to the 4300 foot mark.

If you do not hold A after initiating his home run swing, Captain Falcon will instead do 30% damage to the sandbag and barely move it. This can be repeated up to five times, giving the bag 123% damage. The damage done decreases with each hit. From here, you will have just enough time to move in close and Falcon Punch the bag, sending it flying 1169 feet.

Select Roy and just use three smash attacks (Up + A; same as C-Stick Up in versus mode) and charge your sword until the time is up. The sand bag should go over 1600 feet.

Select Roy and charge your Up + A attack and hit the Sandbag twice with it, or however many times you can get in. Then, charge your B move (Shield Breaker) and hit the Sandbag. Make sure the Sandbag is very close to the edge.

Select Roy. After the announcer says "Go", get as close as you can get to the Sandbag then charge and use your Up Smash attack (tap Up + A). While the Sandbag is still the air, charge another up Smash Attack. Again, while the Sandbag is still in the air, charge up another Up Smash attack. After you finish your Up Smash attack, quick charge Roy's Shield Breaker (hold B). Do not let release, because this attack will execute by i self when at full power. If done correctly, the Sandbag will be in the air with about 110% damage and go over 1500 feet.

Select Roy in single player mode. When it starts, quickly grab the bat and hit the sandbag twice. It should now be at 13% damage. Then, press Right, A to give it 25%. It should now be at the very edge of the platform. Be careful not to push it off. Walk next to it and hold B. Roy's sword should charge up, and when it is it is finished, will send the Sandbag flying through the air. Note: This may require a few attempts. If done correctly, the bag should soar into the air and will not be able to be seen until about the 300 foot mark, finally falling over 600 feet.

Select Roy. Pick up the bat and walk over to Sandbag. Use the Down Smash while facing Sandbag. Then, run over to Sandbag and throw the bat using Up + Z. Next, charge your Up Smash to full. If done correctly, the bat will hit Sandbag while you hit him, causing extra damage. Charge Flare Blade up to full. This should get a result of 1500 to 1700 feet. Note: if you do not execute a fully charged Flare Blade, then you did not do it fast enough and you must retry.

Select Roy and hit the sand bag with A. Then, rush to it and use his Up + A attack about three times. After you hit it the third time, quickly do his B charge up. If done correctly, you may get it past 1500 feet. This strategy might take a few attempts, but it will work.

Select Roy and do his charged (when you turn yellow) Up + A move three times in a row. After the third time, the sandbag should have about 68% damage. When it is coming down the third time, start charging B. If done correctly, you will get about 1300 feet.

To get over 1500 feet with Roy, you must master the bat drop technique. Walk to the sandbag, jump, then drop the bat. Immediately press Down + A while still in the air to keep the sandbag in place. Do this three or more times until there is four to five seconds remaining. Then, use Flare Blade (fully charged). The sandbag should fly into the air and come down when the meter is at 1,000 feet. If the sandbag has at least 113 damage when flying, it will reach about 1,560 feet. It is possible to get 5,000 feet or more, but this requires a lot of practice.

Select Gannon. Tap Up + A and Gannon will keep juggling the bag. When it reaches "3", stop kicking, then either use the bat or Gannon's Mega Punch (hold B).

Select Ganondorf (recommended) or Captain Falcon. Make sure you are standing as close to the sandbag as possible. Press Analog-stick Up and diagonal and hold A button for a short time. He should crouch. He should hit the sandbag into the air. Immediately before the sandbag comes down, charge up again. Then, hit him again. Once he comes down again, hold B and face him. This should knock him about 950 feet. Once you have mastered this, hit him into the air 3 times then hit him and you should get over 1500 feet.

Select Ganondorf, grab the bat, walk up to the bag, and do smash attack (Up + A). The bag will fly in the air. While it is coming down, jump up and do the Down + A move in mid-air on the bag. The bag should fly straight down on the floor. Repeat the process of doing the smash attack jumping, and Down + A to make it go down onto the floor. You should have about one second remaining and should have dealt about 130%. Smash attack Forward + A the sandbag with your home run bat to get it to a distance over 450 meters.

Select Gannondorf. When the announcer says "Go", quickly grab the bat and do a backward jump at the left side of the sandbag. Before landing, do a Down + A attack. The damage should be 22%. Immediately after that, do a Up + A attack. The damage should rated 62%. When bag is flying in the air, walk two steps to the right and turn, jump and do a Down + A attack to get the bag faster in ground. The time remaining should be about four to five seconds. Then, jump once and press Z to drop the bat. Quickly do a Down + A attack and the bag should stay in place. Do it twice. The damage should remain at least 180% to land over 2000 feet. To go further, hold for two seconds Up + A to have 70%, and do one more jump drop attack.

Select Ganondorf. When it starts, grab the bat and dash to the bag. Quickly do an Up + A with no charge. The bag should fly in air. Next jump and press Down + A. The bag should fly directly to the ground. Make sure that when doing the Down + A move that you land on the right side of the bag. Next, jump and press Z to let off the bat then quickly press Down + A. The bat should hit the bag, but it should not move. Do this two more times. When counter reaches "2", jump twice, throw the bat up, than rapidly charge the Warlock Punch. Make sure to land on the left side of the bag. If done correctly, you will have done the "Reverse Warlock Punch" with Ganondorf. Note: If you have the original version of the game, the damage given to the bag should be not more than 220% or it will freeze.

Select Ganondorf. When you start, grab the bat at the left of the platform, and lightly press Analog-stick Toward Sandbag then press A. Sandbag will move to about three quarters of the way to the edge of the platform and have 12% damage. Jump over him and press Down + A. Then, tap Up + A and hold A. After about three seconds, you will automatically kick Sandbag into the air. You should have five seconds remaining if done correctly. At three seconds, jump twice and you should be even with Sandbag. Press Down + A again and he will crash to the ground, landing upright. Tap Analog-stick Toward Sandbag and press A at he same time. You will send him flying about 1355 feet.

Select Gannondorf. Pick up the bat, and walk over to Sandbag. Use his Smash Up + A and charge it. When Sandbag is in the air, use Gannon's Down + A. Use Up + A once more (do not use Down + A). The clock will be at "3". When Sandbag is almost at the ground, charge Forward + A to smash Sandbag. If done correctly, you should hit him about 1,342 feet.

Select Ganondorf. Get the bat and run to the bag. Press Up + A without charging, then immediately double jump to the right side of the bag when in air and do a bat-drop. Note: You must be facing to the right and have your back to the bag. Do five more bat-drops. When the counter reaches between 1 and 2 seconds, immediately jump and catch the bat. Do the second jump, throw the bat up and left to turn Ganon to the left, and it on the left side of the bat facing left. Do not forget to do your Warlock Punch before landing and you will do a Reverse Warlock Punch. The bag should fly to the 10,500 foot mark.

Select Ganondorf. At the beginning, walk up to the Sandbag and press Analog-stick Up + A to perform the Charge-Up Smash move. Ganondorf will do a double-kick if you are close enough to the sandbag. Note: Do not charge up the move for very long, as this task must be done quickly. While the Sandbag is in the air, charge the same move up again and wait until it is directly over your head. Let go and the Sandbag will fly up again. Do the same thing, but not as long as the previous time. Then, while the Sandbag is in the air try to find the home run bat. You cannot see yourself at this time. Then, just as it falls over your head, press the Analog-stick Right. Ganondorf will do the smash move with the bat (stabbing the sandbag). When you hit the Sandbag, its damage should be in the hundreds. If done correctly and fast enough, the sandbag should go over 1,475 feet. This can also be done with Yoshi. With Yoshi, at the beginning, turn around and grab the home run bat. Then, turn back around and jump into the air quickly. While over the sandbag, hold Down and keep pressing A. Yoshi should do a mid-air running-kick. Do this repeatedly until the timer is at "1" or "2", then do the smash move with the bat. This should send the sandbag flying over 1,475 feet.

With Mario or Dr. Mario, press Toward + B to use Mario's Cape or Dr. Mario's Super Sheet to spin the sandbag towards the end of the platform. Before he slides all the way, hop over or run around to the other side and send it the other way a few times for more damage (if you have time). Hop back over, wind up, and let loose. Depending on how many hits you gave, the sandbag will fly 800 to 1100 feet. Dr. Mario seems to have more power to his swing than Mario, so he usually hits farther.

Play as Dr. Mario. Instead of hitting the sandbag forward, hit it backwards with your over A move. The sandbag will bounce off the wall and you will still get a distance.

Play as Dr. Mario. Grab the bat, then use Left or Right + B many times to raise the bag's percentage. When there is about two seconds remaining, get the bag to the edge and use a Smash A bat attack. If done correctly, it will land at more than 1300 ft.

Select Dr.Mario. When the announcer says "Go", immediately take the bat, go near the sandbag, and attack with Up + A twice. The bag should now be beside the character to the left. Turn around and attack it again with Up + A. The bag should now be on the right side of the character. You will have about five seconds remaining. Go directly to the bag and use Dr. Mario' Super Sheets (Forward + B) to hit the sandbag. The bag should be more than 100% when the time reaches one second. Immediately hit the bag with the bat and it will land at more than 1300 feet.

As Peach, grab the bat, use two upward smash attacks on the sandbag, and jump using X or Y. Levitate using Down and A to rapidly kick the sandbag. When the timer is at "1", wind up and cut loose. It is possible to smash the sandbag over 1100 feet.

When playing as any character except Captain Falcon, grab the bat immediately. Then, press Analog-stick Up and press A. Hold A, then release it. Press A(2), then hit it with your Smash Attack. With Ganondorf, use your a attack once. He can knock it at least 1,000 feet.

If you accidentally knock the sandbag up in the air and it is about to hit the ground off the platform, if you have time and good judgment, you can step off the platform and smash it before it hits the ground.

With Pikachu or Pichu, there is a small glitch that can help you hit a great deal farther in homerun mode. Get some good damage to the sandbag then get farther away from it. Jump towards it and land with your back against it, then do the hard swing to it (in the wrong direction). About one out of every five tries, the sandbag will go up off the screen for awhile and land at around 1,000 feet.

As Pikachu, place the sandbag so that it is laying on the ground. This is very easy to do this when you have the bat. Turn Pikachu in the opposite position of the sandbag and swing. If you swing it without putting damage on the sandbag, it will travel about 900 feet.

Use Jigglypuff and stand next to sandbag. Use the Up Smash attack and repeat until the damage gets to about 85%, then fly up into the air and use the Down + B attack on sandbag in mid-air. Sandbag should fly over 1,500 feet. Note: This may take several attempts.

Select Kirby and use the Up + A (not Smash) attack. Wait to hit it with the bat. When he is in the air, smack with the bat and you will hear a Smash Attack sound instead of the cling sound. Most of the time, you will hit it over 1,000 feet.

Select Ness. When the announcer says "Go", quickly grab the bat and do a backward jump over the sandbag. At the same time, throw the bat over it. When landing on the ground rapidly do the PK Fire move (Forward + B). The bag will be in fire at the same time the bat will hit it. Rapidly do a mid-air Down + A (bag should stay in place). Do it twice. Before time runs out, grab the bat and swing at it. The damage should be about 105% or more to land over 1100 feet.

Select Roy. When the announcer says "Go", quickly grab the bat and do a backward jump over the sandbag. At the same time, throw the bat over it. Your character must land on the left side of the bag. Charge the Up + A attack and release it at the same time that the bat hits the bag. That combo should do about 40%. Do this twice. Quickly when time reaches "4", charge up your Flare Blade and the bag should fly. To go over 2000 feet, the bag must have at least 127%.

Select Mewtwo. As soon as the contest starts, grab the bat then go back to the sandbag and use Mewtwo's Up + A smash move to throw it in the air. As it is falling back down, do it again. Finally, time the swing correctly so that you are hitting the sandbag as it is coming directly in front of you, making sure you hit it before it hits the ground. If done correctly, you should easily get 950+ feet every time.

Knock sandbag into the air:
Use Captain Falcon in the home run contest. Push the sandbag to the right until it is about to fall. Then, stand on the edge of the platform and use the bat. While doing the smash, hold A to send the sandbag into the air (straight up, but slightly to the right). It is possible to get over 40 feet with this trick.

Easy melee battles:
If you are trying to unlock the bonuses that require a certain number of melee battles, use the following trick to get them quickly. Go to special melee and select "Super Sudden Death". Choose Link. Put a CPU player on the third slot and go to the Mute City stage. When the announcer says "Go" press Up + B to defeat your opponent instantly and get one melee battle. Repeat this build up your total.

Easy KOs:
To easily rack up KOs, set the damage ratio to 2.0, and turn on handicaps. Put one CPU in a team. Set its level and handicap to 9. Put three CPUs in another team, each in the same one. Set their levels and handicaps to 1. Play on the smallest stage available. The best characters to use are: Team 1: Gannondorf, DK, Bowser, Mewtwo; and Team 2: Young Link, Pichu, Peach, Zelda, Pikachu, Mr. Game And Watch. Team 1 characters should accumulate about 300 to 750 KOs in thirty minutes, and even more when powerful items (Ray Gun, shells, Bob-ombs, Warp Stars, Home Run Bats, Motion Sensor Bombs) are activated. This can aid in getting Score Display easier. Try experimenting with other combinations to accumulate more KOs.

Choose Pikachu in versus mode, and a stage where you can freely walk off the screen and die (for example, Mushroom Kingdom 1 and 2 or Flat Zone.). When the match begins, go to the edge of the screen and place Pikachu with its back to the border. When a player or CPU appears, make a grab attack (Z) then press in the direction towards the border of the screen. For example, if Pikachu is facing right, press Left. The character should fly off stage without touching the ground.

Start out on the Final Destination stage with one human as Gannondorf, and three level 1 CPUs as Pichu on a team, against yourself as a team. Set the damage ratio to 2.0 and stock to 99. Immediately start with C-Down or Smash B + Down. Each hit forward will automatically K.O. one Pichu life. If you K.O. all of them, you will get 297 K.O.s. If you die at least three times, you will have over 300 K.O.'s in about ten to fifteen minutes.

First, select a strong character, such as DK or Bowser. Then, select a stage where there are cliffs on the sides. Next, press Z, pick up your enemy, and jump off the cliff. Note: Make sure you have more lives remaining than your opponent or it may end up a loss or draw.

Alternate introduction view:
Press A at the introduction screen for each level of adventure mode for different views.

Names:
Go to the menu screen where you have the option to enter your name. Enter up to four characters and go to any versus mode battle, including melee. Select your player and move the cursor pointer to the name of the character (in yellow) and press A. It will show a list of the names you have entered and you can choose one. Two people cannot have the same name. If done correctly, your name will appear above your head while in battle instead of your player number. This also works in tournament mode. Just move the white flashing highlight that is below your character's picture over to where it says which player you are. Press Up to scroll through the names. It will only show the names you have entered and confirmed.

Control sound volume:
Hold L at various menus to decrease the volume of all sounds. The longer or harder you hold the button, the lower the sounds go.

In the sound test screen, choose any song and play it. While it is playing, press L. The music will stop. Release L and it will continue to playing. Also, if you lightly press L, the music will become softer. The harder you press it, the quieter the music gets.

Alternate music:
Hold L or R and select a stage in multi-player mode. Keep the button held until the match begins. Note: Only certain stages have new music.

Hold A and press Start at the title screen. Different music will play at the main menu.

Hold L + R + Z + A + X + Y at the title screen. The music on the menu should change. Sometimes it will require multiple tries.

Select Break The Targets mode, then hold L or R when selecting a character for practicing the target bonus round.

Unlock the Sound Test option, then go to Break The Targets under 1-Player Stadium. Select your character, but do not press Start. Instead, hold A + R and press Start. You will have your characters music while breaking targets.

Use the following trick to listen to any desired music in the gallery of trophies. After unlocking the Sound Test, use it to find a song you like, then press A to play it. Then, press B to exit. When you go to the trophy gallery, that song will be playing instead of the usual one.

To get alternate music in adventure mode, hold L + R + Start at the screen that shows the next stage. Release the buttons when the music begins.

By selecting a stage with A or holding L or R and pressing A, the stage will have different music.
