In-game
reset: Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 + Select
+ Start during game play.
Alternate
endings: A new option will appear after completing the game for the
first time. Use this option and load a saved game to restart with items
obtained in the previous game. Complete this special game to view an
alternate ending sequence.
To see dialogue from Chrono
himself, choose the new game plus feature after completing the game for
the first time. Defeat Lavos after Schala opens the seal on the door
leading to the throne room. Before you go through the door, return and
defeat Lavos to see Chrono scold Marle and Lucca for admiring men instead
of showing a slide show.
There are about twenty
different endings in the game.
To see an alternate ending
which features Frog marrying Queen Leene, complete the game. After just
saving the Queen go to Lavos by any way you can. If you defeat Lavos a
sequence with Leene marrying Glenn, and Marle being a toad princess will
appear.
Hint:
Password to save Lara's legs: When in Lucca's past, a note says that to stop the machine Lara
gets trapped on, you must enter her name. Due to the button differences
between the PlayStation controller and the SNES controller, spelling her
name is not possible. The password is now L1, Circle, R1,
Circle.
Hint:
New Game+: To get New Game+, you must complete the game by defeating Lavos
through the Black Omen. After the game ends, reset to get the Game+ option
to appear. When you choose "New Game+", you will be asked which
save file you want to start with. Choose one of the three files and the
game will start from the beginning. You will start the game at the same
level, and with all of your spells and items that you had before. This
option lets you play through to get each of the ten different endings. In
a New Game+, a teleport (the Lavos Gate) directly to Lavos will appear in
the right telepod of Lucca's invention at Leene Square. Depending upon
when you enter this gate and defeat Lavos, you will get different endings
Glitch:
Mistranslation: After Crono dies and the Old Man tells you to go to 2300 A.D.,
go to Keeper's Dome. If you have not obtained the clone of Crono already,
the Nu there will tell you to go to Norstein Bekkler, only, he will say
"Nolstein Bekkler". The "L" and "R"
mistranslation comes from the fact that, in Japan, these letters would be
pronounced the same way. Many translation errors occur with these few
letters.
Glitch:
Misspelling: In the Extras mode, go to the boss data and look for Slash
(Bare Handed). When you see it, the word "Bare" with be spelled
"Bara".
Battles
Alternate
God Of War appearances: As your characters advance in levels, the God Of War (who can
be found in the back room at the end of time) takes on different
appearances. When your characters reach the higher levels, it will change
into Masamune (the one you fight in the Denadoro Mountains, only blue
instead of yellow). When you take a party of people who are all at level
99 he will take on a final form of a Nu. He does all of the highest power
magic attacks including Flare, Dark Matter, and Luminair. He also does
Hallation (brings everyone down to 1 hp), a physical attack, and Salt
(which heals one of your characters completely). Physical attacks do next
to nothing on him, and magic is reduced. If you defeat him you get 10 of
each tablet and 10 Mega Elixirs. If he is too difficult, you can always
put someone in your party that is under level 99 he will return back to
Masamune.
Fighting
Lavos again: It is possible to fight Lavos again easily after completing the
game. Start a New Game +, go to Lucca's telepod machine, and enter the
right telepod. Fight his stage before going through his shell and
verything after that point with only Crono and Marle.
Fighting
Lavos one-on-one: Start a New Game+ and let Marle get on the transporter. She
will get sucked back in time. Then, with Crono, run onto the right
transporter that takes you to Lavos.
Fighting
Spekkio in the Nu form: To get Spekkio to transform you have to get your party's levels
to 99. Use the following trick if you want to fight him with another
three. If you take the three characters with the level 99 into the room
and then press Y (SNES version) and change characters, Spekkio will
stay in the Nu form. It may be more difficult because their levels are low
and Spekkio will do all the strong spells like Luminar and Dark Matter. If
you are lucky, he will use Salt which is a spell that does the same as
Cure 2 on one of your characters.
Use the following trick to
fight Spekkio in the Nu form with anyone. After you get three people in
the group to level 99 which is represented by two stars, Spekkio, the god
of war, will take the form of a Nu. If you go into his room without those
three who are on level 99, he will be in the Masamune form and you will
not be able to fight. Walk into the room with your three characters then
switch to other characters. When you exit that screen, he should be in the
Nu form. Now you can fight him in the Nu form with anyone out of your
group.
Defeating
the final Golem on the plane: When you are captured and taken aboard the blackbird after
Chrono dies, you will fight the final Golem on the wing of the plane.
Instead of wasting MP and effort fighting him, wait. After a while, his
fear of heights will overwhelm him and he will run away.
Defeating
Gato: When you start, the fastest way to gain silver points is to
defeat Gato. This is only for when you are just starting the game;
otherwise you will not need it. When the battle begins, let him hit you
once. It will not do very much damage. He will turn around and walk
forward. Wait until he is back there, then start attacking him or use a
technique. He will not be able to counter it (punch you three times). This
gets easier as you get stronger. You will only gain one technique point.
If you want more, go to the Guardia Forest.
Defeating
the Golem Twins: Have Ayla and Robo in your party. When you face the Golem
Twins, have them cast Bogie. You can now hit them with your most powerful
combos and they will not Mimic. If the spell wears off, use it again.
Get one or two people to have
a red, blue, white, or black mail suit. Have the same suit of magic that
corresponds to the caster. For example, if the caster is Crono have him
wear the white vest, as it protects against lightning. When you cast a
lightning spell, the twins will copy that magic. Instead of hurting that
person, it will cure them.
Defeat
Magus: Before leaving 65 million B.C. with the red rock, go to the
Dactyl's nest. Go up and down the mountain, defeating all the enemies in
your path. Exit the nest and re-enter it. The monsters will have
respawned. Continue doing this until Crono, Marle, and Lucca all know
their strongest techniques. This will take some time and patience. After
learning the techniques, fix the Masamune and give it to Frog. When you
reach the fight with Magus, you will damage him significantly with Crono's
Luminaire or Lucca's Flare attack.
Defeating
Son of Sun: In the future 2300 AD you have to fight the Son of Sun in order
to get the Moon Stone. An easy way to defeat him is to get a special armor
found in 65,000,000 BC. You will need ten of each of the following to buy
one: Fangs, Petals, Horns, and Feathers. It is called Ruby Armor and
greatly reduces the terrible attack Flare and the counterattack of the
flames.
Stealing
from Megasaur: When you steal from Megasaur with a Twin Charm you will get an
Aeon Blade. If you steal with just normal charm, you get a Lapis*1, which
recovers everyone by 200 hp.
Stealing
from Evilweevil: This is useful when you first enter the cave with Ayla in 65
million BC. Steal from them to get a Dream Gun. You will get a Dream Gun
with either type of charm used. Use Twin Charm with Ayla and Marle for
better results.
Stealing: Steal from the indicated creature to get the corresponding
items.
Lower
MP use: Later in the game when the Black Omen appears, enter a battle
with it with Alya in your party. As you fight through the ship you will
encounter across some Flyclops (small enemies with one eye and wings).
When in a battle with them, use Alya's Charm tech to get the Gold Stud
accessory, which cuts MP by 75%. Do this with every Flyclops you encounter
and you should get enough Gold Studs for everyone in your party. With it
equipped, all magic attacks such as Dark Matter and Triple Kick cost only
5 MP. Any other magic will lowered as well.
Best
weapons:
Chrono: Rainbow Sword
(Found in Rainbow Shell Sidequest).
Lucca: Wonder Shot (Found
in Sidequest 3).
Marle: Valkerye (Found in
Northern Ruins Sidequest).
Robo: Terra Arm (Found in
2300 AD Sidequest).
Ayla: Bronze Fists (Level
up in the high 90s and she will learn it).
Frog: Masume 2 (Go to the
Northern Ruins Sidequest, then at the Hero Grave Toma will take the
sword and put all his power into it) .
Money and tech points
Silver
Points: Go to the left of the tent where you bet on the racers. Talk to
the man standing across the track when the runners line up. He will then
tell you the name of the racer that will win. Run over to the betting tent
and place you bet to get an easy 20 Silver Points.
In Leene Square, as the
runners are lining up watch who goes to the starting line first. Then,
quickly bet on that person. They should win the race.
Note: The following trick
requires controller with an auto-fire feature, to allow Silver Points to
be collected quickly during the Millennial Fair. First, reach the point in
the game where you can switch all the characters in your roster around. Go
to the Millennial Fair in the year 1000 A.D., with Magus, Marle, Robo, or
Frog in the first slot and Chrono, Lucca, or Ayla in the second or third
slots. Go to the pop chugging contest, activate the auto-fire, and walk up
the man that runs the contest. Your first character should stay in place
while your second or third characters chugs. You can now leave the game
unattended as your Silver Points increase.
Later in the game, repeatedly
defeat Gato.
In the SNES version, when you
go into the fair, go straight to your left. You should see a thing where
you hit a bell. Go as far back as possible and press A. If done
correctly, you should go over to a person standing next to it. He should
give you one Silver Point. You can do this as many times as desired.
9999
damage: There is a way to do 9999 damage to anything in the game in one
strike. As Ayla's levels increase, her weapon (her fists) also changes.
When her levels start getting high, her weapon will become the bronze
fists. With these, her critical hit will do 9999 damage to anything (even
Queen Zeals Hands will suffer it).
Money: Once Ayla is with you in 65,000,000 B.C., you will be able to
trade petals, horns, and feathers for new items. Trade and equip them on
your characters. After that, trade for more of the items. Then go and sell
the items for a quick profit.
After you do not care much
about experience, get an item called the wallet. After the point where you
charge up Marle's pendant, go to the future and check the door behind the
first gate you exited towards the start of the game. Put the wallet on one
of your three party members. All your experience will be added to the gold
you get in the battles.
Go to your own era, then go
to the mayor's manor in the far south. Go in and out and to get 10 g. This
can be done as many times as needed.
Go to 65,000,000 B.C. Upon
arrival, go to the hunting grounds. While you are there, kill the three
groups of three frogs. They give you two Fangs, Horns, and Feathers. Go to
the trader and give him three Fangs and Horns. This will give you one of
Crono's weapons, depending on how far you are in the game. Then, go to any
other time period with a market and sell the new item. It is better to do
the above many times before leaving to sell your items so you can do so in
mass quantities and save time climbing the mountain.
Buy jerky from shop owner at
the Café in the present (year 1000), then sell it to the girl in the
Mayor's Manor in the year 600. You will make a 100 GP profit each time.
Note: You need to give her the jerky once. Otherwise, you cannot get the
Moon Stone from the present mayor.
Go to Leene's Square. As soon
as you arrive, go east to the "Tent of Horrors". Go in, then
immediately exit. You will notice that the racers have just started. Wait
until they have lined up again. Bet on the green ambler. He will win every
time that you do this. Once you get your 20 silver points, repeat the
process as many times as desired. When you want your money, go north and
find the man that exchanges 10 silver points for 50g. When you think you
have enough money, you can also spend silver points in the
"tent".
Tech
points: When you get to Mt. Woe there will be a Rubble that gives you
one hundred tech points that keeps appearing over and over. When you reach
the first save point in Mt. Woe, go north of that save point. There will
be a chain leading to the right. Cross through the chain and a Rubble will
be there. Put the accessory "Berserker" on a character. Fight
the Rubble, defeat it, then go south of the save point. Climb down the
ladder to go to another area, then go back to the Rubble and it will
appear again. Note: It is suggested you have Crono , any other character,
and Ayla in your group. Place the Berserker on Ayla, since she will induce
greater damage then any other character.
Go to the Cursed Woods in the
Middle Ages (600 AD) and keep walking until you get to a pink frog pacing
back and forth across the screen, just before you get to the entrance to
Frog's house. Run from the entrance to that frog to see a Nu walking away.
Talk to him he will say "Stop it you dog". While he is still on
the screen, run into an enemy and he will be stuck in the battle field.
You will get average experience but about 32 tech points. You will get the
same amount of tech points for fighting a Nu in the Hunting Age
(65,000,000 BC), but it only comes out at three different points, only
when it rains. Another place to fight Nus are in Kajar (1,200 BC) after
opening up three books having the elements of water, wind, and fire (in
that order). A door will open and you will fight six Nus. You can only
fight them once. The Nu in the Cursed Forest is the fastest way to get
tech points.
Experience
and tech points: At the bottom of the Ocean Palace in 12,000 B.C. is a save
point guarded by a Jinn and a Barghest. Save and heal here, then walk down
into the blue elevator shaft-type room. Here, you will encounter two Blue
Scouts, two Scouters, and one Mage. Put one Water caster, Frog or Marle,
in your group anyone as the third person. First, attack one of the Blue
Scouts with Chrono, then have your third person attack the same one. Next,
have Marle/Frog cast Water/Ice on the Blue Scout that has not been
attacked -- this should kill it. Then, have your third person attack the
remaining Blue Scout. Hopefully this will kill it -- if not the fight will
take a little longer. If the last Blue Scout is dead, then have Chrono
cast Lighting 2 which will hopefully kill both of the Scouters and do some
damage to the Mage. You can finish off the Mage with physical attacks.
Note: The Mage may cast Lock, which disables Tech attacks. This battle
results in 1258 experience, 40 tech points, 1550 gold, and 1 Lapis. After
defeating them, walk out the room and re-enter for the same fight.
Money,
experience, and tech points: The following trick only works after/when you first get Ayla.
Start by going to the hunting ground in 65 million B.C. Then, wait for it
to rain and a Nu monster will appear in one of the four corners of the
hunting grounds -- most commonly the upper two and the lower right. The Nu
monster only has one attack that bring its target down to one HP, so it is
impossible to lose to it. It also gives you 30 skill points. After each
time you kill the Nu monster, it will give you three Petals, Fangs, Horns,
and Feathers. After obtaining your desired amount, return to the village
to trade with the native man. To get the most cash out of this, trade him
Petals and Feathers for Stone Arms that sell for 3,525 and Horns and Fangs
for a Flint Edge that sells for 3,125. You only have to defeat the Nu
monster ten times to receive enough items for a little over 65,000.
Go to 65 million B.C., then
go to the hunting grounds. Fight monsters (especially Nu) until you have
about 50 of every item (Petal, Fang, Horn and Feather). Go to the trading
hut, and talk to the man that you trade with. He appears different from
everyone else. Trade all your Feathers and Petals for Stone Arms (worth
the most), and all your Horns and Fangs for Flint Edges (next most
expensive). Go to a market in 2300 A.D., 1000 A.D., or 600 A.D.. Sell all
your Stone Arms and Flint Edges. You will get a lot of money, and get
experience and tech points while fighting.
Before you get the Bike Key
in 2300 A.D., go up to the old highway. Fight the four robots to get 200
gil and a considerable amount of experience. After you fight them, go up
by the "jet bike" and follow the path to the right. instead of
continuing through the area, an alarm will sound and four more robots
(always the same type) will appear and fight you. Repeat this as many
times as desired. If you get low on HP and MP, go back to the dome to the
south and use the Enertron.
Note: This trick takes lots
of time, but is well worth it. To get unlimited money, tech, and
experience points, go to the Gene Dome in 2300 A.D. where you fight Robos
Mothers. As soon as you enter the dome, Mother traps you and send you down
a conveyer belt, fighting enemies all the way. When you reach the end, go
through the door. To your right, you will see what looks like a tab on the
floor. Search it and you will be asked if you want to enter the heating
duct. Say "Yes" to return to the entrance. You can then fight
the same monsters again. Repeat this as mahy times as desired.
Items
Bronze
Fist: Ayla gains the Bronze Fist at level 72. It boosts her attack.
If she does a critical hit, it will damage anything by 9999, even Zeal's
Hands in Black Omen.
Crisis Arm:
Once you get Crono back, go to Geno Dome with Robo Leading. Defeat Mother
Brain there to receive the Crisis Arm, along with the Terra Arm. The
Crisis Arm is a very good weapon despite what you may think. Its damage
depends on the last digit of your HP when it is below critical. For
example, 10 HP does 0 damage and 19 HP does the most.
Magic
Tab: Get the Naga-ette Bromide in the cathedral (first room up the
stairs at the right, next to the three treasure chests). In 600 AD, go to
the uppermost residence in the first town south of Zenan bridge. There is
a locked cabinet with a Tab blinking inside. Talk to the old man and he
will offer to trade. If you do, you will get a Magic Tab.
Megalixers: When you are looking for the Rainbow Shell in the Giant's Claw
cave, you should find a cave that has two switches by the door and one in
the middle of the room. There should be a skull that opens up into another
small room. If you step on the switch on the bottom right as you are
walking in, you should encounter two Fossil Apes. Have Ayla use Charm on
each ape and you should get a two Megalixers. If not, try using Charm
while Ayla is equipped with the Charm Top.
Mop: To get Crono's worst weapon, use Ayla's Charm tech on a Nu. The
Wood Sword has an attack power of 2, but the Mop only has an attack power
of 1.
Nova
Armors: Go to the Black Omen with Ayla in your party. Fight a Goon and
use Ayla's Charm tech on the Goon. Note: Equipping Ayla's Charm Top
accessory will help. Eventually, the Goon will cough up a Nova Armor.
Nu
Tabs: In the Black Omen at the room where the Nus are, talk to the
one on the left and tell him "Just Chat" ten times. He will say,
"All right already, if you want to talk so much, then here are some
topics to discuss, Nu!" The topics are "Rainbow Shell",
"Sunstone", "Magic Tab", "Speed Tab",
"Power Tab", and "Nu!". Do this ten times and choose
"Nu" every time. Nu will get tired of it and give you three
"Nu Tabs". When you use them up, their effect are as follows:
Speed +10
Magic +10
Power +10
M. Defense +10
Defense +10
Stamina +10
Rainbow
Shell: The Rainbow Shell is fairly easy to get. Walk and fight your
way through all the Dinos that lived after Lavos landed on their home.
After getting the Rainbow Shell to the King, go to the Present and return
to the castle. Some events will pass by as a trial of the King is ongoin.
Get the King's daughter in your group and go to the court room. After the
talking and such, go to the basement, which is overrun by monsters. Get
the Rainbow Shell piece and return to the court. After awhile the man will
transform into Yakra XIII. Defeat him and later go back and take the key
on the floor. Look for a locked chest and find the real man.
Sun
Stone: Have Magus join your party and have him learn the Black Hole
technique. Get into the fight with the "Son of Sun" (in 2300 AD)
and use Black Hole to actually kill the two flames in front of the
"Son of Sun". If it does not kill both of them the first time,
wait until he uses Roulette Shuffle and use it again. You can now easily
find the flame that hurts the "Son of Sun".
To get the Sun Stone, you
must go through several steps. First, defeat the Sun of Son's in the
future, 2300 AD. He is hiding in the Sun Palace in the south. You need the
Flying Epoch to reach him. When defeated, he will give you a Moon Stone.
Travel to 65,000,000 BC and venture to the Sun Keep. Leave the Moon Stone
there. Go to 1000 AD. The stone will be gone. Travel to the southern town
of Poore and enter the house in that has sparkles are coming out of the
roof. Talk to the Mayor -- the greedy father. He says he has not heard of
the moon stone. Go to one of the houses and talk to the bartender. Buy the
Jerky from him. Return to 600 AD and go to the same house that the greedy
father lived in. Talk to the mother at the sink and give her the Jerky.
She will reply that she will teach her children to share. Go back to the
same house in 1000 AD. Talk to the former greedy father. He will say
someone left the stone here and give you the Moon Stone. Go back to the
Sun Keep in 1000 AD and leave the Moon Stone. Time travel back to the
future, 2300 AD, with Lucca in your party. Go to the Sun Keep. The Sun
Stone will be there and Lucca will make her ultimate weapon, the
Wondershot, with it. You will also get the Sun Specs. If you have obtained
the Rainbow Shell from Giant's claw in 600 AD, go to the basement of the
1000 AD Castle. Give Melchior the Sun Stone to get Chrono's Rainbow and
the Prism Specs.
Triple
Tech stones:
Black Rock (Marle,
Lucca, Magus - Dark Eternal) Obtained in Zeal by opening the wind, water, and fire books in the
correct order to open a secret door behind the Nu in one of the first
two cities.
Blue Rock (Lucca, Robo,
Magus - Omega Flare) Obtained in Giant's Claw. The chest is half hidden by a rock wall
nearby a door on the bottom of the screen.
Silver Rock (Robo, Frog,
Ayla - Spin Strike) Obtained by talking to the Nu in the Laruba Ruins in 65 million B.C.
The Nu will not appear until the later stages of the game.
White Rock (Marle, Ayla,
Lucca - Poyozo Dance) Obtained in Black Omen. The chest is half hidden in a corner in the
room with the line of Ruminators running through it. If not found here,
keep looking elsewhere else in the Omen.
Gold Rock: (Frog is only
needed - Grand Dream) Obtained in the Denadoro Mountains. Later in the game, place Frog as
the leader of the party and go to the area where rocks are thrown at
you. Let Frog get hit by one and he will catch it instead. To be able to
do Grand Dream, you will need to go to visit Cyrus at Hero's Grave so
that the Masamune will power up.
There are several stones that
show up as accessories are secrets to gaining new Triple Techs. For every
stone there are only three people who can equip one. Those are the people
you need to have in your party to do it (Chrono cannot do any of the
Triple Techs gained by way of the stones). These Techs work like any of
the others except for the gold stone, for which you need the powered up
Masamune to be able to do the tech.
Get
three of each stone: Use the following trick to get three of each stone (black,
blue, sliver, white). The game has an option to use the data from the
saved game in your new game (New Game+ option). In time you will have all
the desired stones. Note: This also helps you keep any spells and levels
all characters have gained during the game, and to get more of any item
that you normally can only get one of. This also give you all the items in
your item slot.
Extra
items: Go to 600 AD and examine the black treasure chests. If one
reacts to Marle's Pendant, do not remove its contents. Then, go to 1000 AD
and return to the same black treasure chest. Remove the contents, and the
item will be upgraded. Return to 600 AD and get the black treasure chest.
Now you have both of them.
Before Mt. Woe and after
Terra Cave, there is a small cave with Beasts in it, and a Mud Imp, Blue
Beast, and Red Beast guarding the chain to Mt. Woe. Before you fight the
Mud Imp and Red and Blue Beasts, fight the Beasts. Charm them with Ayla
for some Rainbow Helmets. You can Charm them repeatedly. After you have
enough to equip your party, you can continue to Charm them for more, which
you can sell for 8,000 G. After you defeat the Mud Imp and companions, you
cannot do this anymore. However, when you get on the Mountain, you can
Charm the Bantam Imps and Man Eaters for an Alloy Blade for Chrono and a
Pearl Edge for Frog. You can Charm them continuously for many of these.
Fill up to get 99 of both, then go down to Terra Cave. Sell them until you
have 999,999 G. Each Pearl Edge is worth 11,000 G and two Alloy Blades are
worth 21,000 G. Go back to the Mount, and Charm the Bantam Imps and Man
Eaters until you have 99 of both again, then repeat. Extra money, items,
and new weapons for Frog and Chrono.
Make
Nu surrender items: In the prehistoric hunting grounds, if you catch a Nu just as
it is going back into its hiding place, it will automatically surrender as
if you won and give you the items it would normally give, but without the
fight. You can conserve time and HP this way.
Ozzie
Pants, Flea Vest, and Slasher2: Use Alya's Charm tech when you are fighting all three together
on Ozzie to get the Ozzie pants; Flea to get the Flea vest; and Slash to
get the Slasher2.
Rare
accessories: Use Ayla in your party while on the Black Omen. When fighting
Sub-Bosses, such as the three Mutants and the Lavos Spawn, use Ayla's
Charm tech. You will receive Musclerings, Gold Studs, and other items. Use
the Charm tech on other adversaries as well to get elixirs and other
useful items. Another option is to use Ayla and Marle together and use the
Double tech, Twin Charm.
During the Cyrus's Ghost side
quest, do not collect any of the treasure chests inside (the normal ones
or the black boxes that are opened with the pendant). After completing the
quest in 600 A.D., leave immediately and travel forward in time to 1000
A.D. Now, collect all the treasure chests here. Then, travel back to 600
A.D. and re-collect all the treasure chests. Since you collected them in
the future, they are still here in the past. You will get two of all the
rare items in the castle. This trick also works with the other black boxes
that are scattered around in 600 A.D. and 1000 A.D. (in the grove in
Guardia forest, various houses, etc.)
Items

Characters
Magus:
Special armor: There are pieces of armor made specially for Magus. To get
them, go to Ozzie's Fortress and go to the room with the great
"treasure", with the falling axe right in front of it. Check the
wall directly across from where Ozzie was cranking the axe from left to
right to find a hidden room. Open the three treasure boxes to get Magus'
ultimate helm, weapon, and armor. Note: Keeping the Prizm Helm and Moon
Armor on him, if you own enough, is recommended.
Lucca:
Saving her mother's legs: When Lucca warps from the forest to the past when, her mom
loses her legs, there is a way to save her. Approach the machine and talk
to it. It will ask for a password. Press L, A, R, A
to spell LARA, which is the password. This will turn off the machine and
Lucca's mother will keep her legs. The only change this makes in the game
is at the ending, at the moonlight parade. She will be scolding her
husband for not dancing with her.
Lucca:
Ultimate armor: To get Lucca's ultimate armor, have Crono, Lucca and Frog in
your party. Go to Lucca's house after you defeat the mud doll and the
beasts. Talk to her mother. Taban will enter and tell her how much money
he got that day. Walk back to the main room. Taban will be standing there.
Talk to him and he will give you the Taban Armor, which is Lucca's
ultimate armor.
Crono:
Clone: After Crono dies you will able to choose anyone in the front of
your team. After you get the clone of Crono, go back to Bekkler's lab and
put anyone on the front of your team. Play the game where you have to mime
to win. After you win, you will receive a clone of that person that will
appear at their house. Note: Since Magus and Robo do not have houses, you
will find their clone in the place where they were first met.
Chrono:
Rainbow: After the Rainbow Shell Quest, Melchior will give you the Prism
Dress/3 Prism Helms/ Keep talking to him. He will eventually give you a
Rainbow. This is Chrono's best sword, and is even more powerful than the
Shiva Edge.
You need the Sun Stone so
Melchior can make the alloy to make the Rainbow.
Changing
your name: Go to 65,000,000 BC after you revive Crono. Go to the village
that was burned down. Talk to the Nu that gave you the white rock and he
will let you change one of your character's names.
Change
Epoch's name: Go to the dome on the other side of the sewers that is next to
Death Peak in the year 2300 A.D. You will not get an item like the Nu when
you change Crono's name.
Reuniting
Janus and Alfador: After destroying the Ocean Palace and putting Magus into your
party, go to the Commons in 12,000 BC. Before, you would have seen a boy
running around with Alfador. If you enter the Commons with Magus, Alfador
will start mewing and following him. Also, if you talk to the boy, he will
ask if Magus owns the cat.
Be
innocent at court: When you are captured and taken to court, there is a way to get
a not guilty verdict. First, never eat the old man's lunch on the table in
the Pink Sack. Second, locate the cat behind the table next to the table
with the old man's lunch. Talk to the cat and it will follow you. Take it
two screens to the right, to the screen with the pop chugging contest.
Talk to the little girl there and she will thank you for bringing back her
cat. Third, when Marle is getting candy, do not move. Wait for her to buy
her candy. Finally, when you talk to the sword merchant and he asks about
her pendent, do not offer to sell it.
When you bump into Marle,
talk to her. Get her pendant to give to her. Do not talk in the Pink
Lunch. Talk to the cat so it will follow you to the little girl on the
right side of the fair by the table. If you talk to the weapon merchant,
answer "No" to selling Marle's pendent. When Marle is buying
candy do not move at all. Note: The councilor may still try, saying you
are to be executed in three days
Revive
the Forest: Go to the Dark Ages and go to the Commons. There will be a girl
standing next to a pot with a plant in it. Tell her to take care of it.
After this, go back to 600 A.D. and go to Friona's place. There will be a
whirlpool in the sand. Enter it and fight all the monsters. The Boss here
is somewhat difficult to defeat. First, attack the center using physical
attacks. When it is dead have Magnus or Frog cast a Water2 or Ice 2 to
freeze the monster. His Dex will fall, allowing you to get some good hits
with Robo's Shock or his multi-hit attack. After you hit him, his Dex
returns. Repeat this strategy and you will eventually win. Leave to see
Friona with Robo in your party and allow him to stay. After this, go to
the Present and go to Friona's shrine, where you can get Robo back.
Rescued
by Marle: When you are behind bars after you brought back Princes Nadia,
wait in the cell until the game says that the execution is in 0 days. They
will try to cut Chrono's head off, but Marle suddenly appears, leaving all
the guards knocked out.
