Hint: Secret levels:
There are six secret levels in Descent Maximum, one for each system. The exits are hidden teleports which are only accessible after destroying the Main Reactor or Boss of the level. Note: The following descriptions on how to get to secret levels assume that your ship is upright relative to the top of Main Reactor.

Secret level 1
Level 2 - Destroy the Main Reactor. Then, fire the primary weapon at wall side opposite of the "Exit". A hidden door will open. The teleport will now be visible.

Secret level 2
Level 6 - Destroy the Main Reactor. The Teleport will be visible directly above the Reactor.

Secret level 3
Level 12 - Destroy the Boss. Go back through the red door and turn left. You will see the blue door. Go through the blue door. You will see the yellow door. Stop and then descend downward. Another blue door will be to the right. Go through the blue door. The Teleport will be visible at the top of the large room just entered.

Secret level 4
Level 15 - This Main Reactor is behind what seems to be a pyramid type of enclosure. Although you will see fire balls coming from all sides of this enclosure, one side will have more fire balls coming out than the others. Face this wall and blast it until you see or hear that the self-destruct has been activated. Turn 180 degrees and fire at the wall. The Teleport will now be visible.

Secret level 5
Level 17 - Destroy the Main Reactor. Go back around clockwise to first green door (look at map). Enter the green door. Locate the red door to the left in this room. The Teleport will be visible directly across from the red door.

Secret level 6
Level 22 - Destroy the Main Reactor. Return to the "Exit". Face the "Exit", then turn 180 degrees. You will see a door with blue beams blocking the entrance to the right. To the left is a dark green patch along the ceiling. Follow this patch (like a path) and then fire at the wall. A hidden door will open. Enter the room and the teleport will now be visible if you look up and to the left.

Hint: Level 24:
At first, you will enter in an enemy-less room. However, to get at the top floor go near the left post in front of you. Go up and search for a square hole leading to the top floor. To get the first key, make sure you face the door. Then, go left and go forward until you see a row of light on the floor or ceiling. Note: For this step, it does not matter what side you take; just remember that if you go left, turn left as well near the lights (and vice-versa). Turn left and about half-way through the "tunnel", there will be an enemy standing. Then, if you continue, there will be two other enemies very far ahead and on your right or left depending on the way that you came. Use the guided missile or go straight ahead and destroy them all. Get the key. It is there that the Guide-Bot is be hidden. Double-shoot at the wall behind the key and it will become free. Rotate 180 degrees and turn left. Go straight ahead and make a left when it is a dead-end. Note: You may use the right path, because this is the path you took earlier. Also, if the area does not seem familiar from the room at first, you went the on the wrong side. Just make a U-turn and go at the other entrance. Double-shoot the door you faced earlier and the second key (in the force-field) will be available. Face the door and repeat the second step. This time, keep going straight ahead. Note: When you will get there, there will be four enemies (one hidden and three visible). Just go slow; an enemy will get down, then another one, and the far back will come. However the two other ones will stay motionless. Just dodge on the side to see them. After destroying the enemies, go in one of the two doors. Note: There also are four enemies (two hidden and two visible). Two of them are in holes far in front, and two other ones near the doors. After destroying all the enemies, go in one of the two holes, in which you will find at least five other enemies (one down the hole, and the rest behind the door). You may have noticed two force fields before entering one of the two doors. To deactivate them, look for two moving pictures on the wall (one for each force fields) and destroy the moving pictures. Go in the door and into the room to get the final key. Note: In the room, you will find four of the five enemies. There will be two enemies on the side, protected by gates that are hard to shoot across. However, one to two enemies will pop-up from the ground (but are first hidden) at both ends of the room. Also, to get the gates down, go at the hole of where one of the enemies was at the other end of the exit door, where you will find a control panel. Destroy it to get the gates down. Once everything is destroyed (except you), get out of the room, up the holes, and to the room where the force field you deactivated was located. Go in one of the two passages (except up ahead) and turn where the rows of lights are. Follow them. Then enter the door that has the color of the last key. This is the Boss room. Destroy the Boss. You are now entering survival mode. Once the boss explodes you do not need to worry about the exit. The Boss is not only very strong or powerful, but it can cloak and move itself. Enabling the "Invincibility" code is recommended. The Boss can also prepare and launch enemies without warning.
