Taunt
your opponent: Before the snap, when you are controlling either a defensive
player or your QB, press L3. Your player will taunt the other team.
Hint:
Use Madden Cards indefinitely: You must have a profile made and loaded. Do the training mode
in the Coaches Corner. Here, you earn "tokens", used a points.
Whenever you complete a certain play, you earn tokens. Do every play that
the game gives you. Try to do them correctly so you can earn as many
tokens a possible. When you have completed each play, you can earn no more
tokens. Save your stats in the profile. Then, go to the Madden Card
section. In this section, make the selection under the Challenge Status
section (should be in the middle). In here you can buy cards, just like
baseball trading cards. Cards are bought in packs. Every card has a player
(boosts stats by certain percent), veteran player that you can sign to
your roster, Superbowl team (for example, the 1999 Rams), created team,
new stadium, cheerleader cards, and cheat cards. The cheat cards are
cheats, just like in Madden 2000 or 2001 (and some new
cheats). You can buy the cards with the tokens you have just earned.
Almost every card can normally only be used once. Save the profile after
you have all the cards you want. You can activate all the cards you want,
and after the game, most of them will be gone. However they will only
remain gone if you save your profile after the game. First, save the game,
but do not save the profile. Restart the game. Start the game again and
load the profile. Then, select Madden Cards: Activate. If done correctly,
all of your cards should be back to the amount that they were. Do this
after every game and you should be able to use the cheats indefinitely.
Note: This was done in franchise mode.
Hint:
Easy Madden Cards: To get quick and easy Madden Cards, go to training mode and
select Mike Martz's playbook. Go through it and earn as many cards as you
can. Note: this can only be done once per profile.
Hint:
Easy tokens: Trade Madden Cards that you have two or more to get more. If
you get two or more Gold or Past Player Cards, sell them to where you have
one remaining. These give you more tokens.
Hint:
Easy run: Choose any team, then pick select D. Jauron's playbook. Go to
"Singleback Normal" and pick "HB Sweep". You will run
to the left. Keep tapping X. Then, one person will appear, press L1
to juke left. You will now be free to run. Make sure you are tapping X
at all times.
Hint:
Easy sacks: Go to Dime formation, then select "Double Slot".
Watch your defensive ends go for a sack. "Line Shift" will also
work as well. This is under the Raiders handbook.
Select the 3-4 defense play
and select the play Wipman. Then, control the DT on the left. Move him to
the right to block the center. This will work about 80% of the time.
Hint:
Easy catches: Throw the ball to any receiver. After the ball has been thrown,
switch into your intended receiver and let the CPU run the pattern.
Immediately before the ball gets to you, tap R2 + L2. If the
ball is somewhat to the receiver, he will reach out and most likely catch
the ball.
Hint:
Avoid tackles: Stop running for a moment. You can sometimes easily avoid being
tackled. Sometimes you will need to juke, spin, or stiff arm to get past
defenders.
Hint:
Onside recover: When you are kicking the ball go to onside, press Circle
and when the red arrow appears, move the arrow to the center. Then, move
it all the way down and try to kick it hard, It should kick a pooch very
high. Press Triangle to jump and recover the ball.
Hint:
Easy safties: When it is your turn to kick the ball to the other team, choose
the play that says "Kick Left". Press the Down to make
the red arrow go down all the way, then tap Left(2). When you kick
the ball, make sure that it is slightly behind the line.
Hint:
Good protection: To get good protection on kick returns, choose "Onside
Kick" as your play. When you run back the ball, you will usually get
past the 20.
Hint:
Good offense: Go to trade a player and select the St. Louis Rams. Trade the
back up QB for Peyton Manning, then trade their back up HBs for Edgerinn
James and Eddie George. Next, trade their back up FBs for Mike Allstott,
Tony Richardsons or Larry Centers. Keep Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt. Trade
the rest for Randy Moss, Eric Moulds, Cris Carter, Rod Smith, Ed
Mccaferry, Jonny Morton, Hermon Moore, Antonio Freeman, and Marvin
Harrison. Then, trade the TE for Tony Gonzalaz, Shannonn Sharpe, or Frank
Wycheck.
Hint:
Good defense: To get the best defense formation, go to 4-3 and select Safe.
Before the hike, press Triangle + Up, R1 and L1.
This makes your defense cover better, and have a better chance for a sack.
To increase the odds, get control of your DL on the opposite side of the
running back, judging its a pass play. Move him towards the other DLs to
push everyone to one side. About three to five men will pass the T and G
and sack the quarterback once in about four attempts.
Hint:
Determine first down: When you pass or run the ball, and it is close to a first down,
watch the yellow line. If it disappears fast, it is a first down. If it
fades away, it is not.
Hint:
Prevent CPU from running the clock: Use the following trick to prevent the CPU from running the
clock out near the end of the game when they are ahead. Choose
"Special - Punt Return". That will make the CPU audible their
play to a pass play. Then, audible your defense by pressing Square
followed by Circle. This way, your coverage men and returners will
be covering wide receivers. Ysually your returners and coverage men are
WRs so they will have better hands for interceptions than a regular CB.
This may not win it for you, but will give you a lot better chance.
Hint:
Stall a two-minute offense: Use the play Dime: Double Wide when you need to stall a
two-minute offense. You will have a better chance of running the clock
while the opponent is trying to score with a two-minute offense.
Hint:
Long field goals: Long field goals can be made if you stop the meter. Then, when
stopping the power meter, press Triangle + X at the same
time. This is not guaranteed to work every time..
Hint:
Best franchise mode players: The following players have a huge upside, sometimes growing
over 10 overall points in the first year: Todd Heap, Lavaar Aringhton, and
Champ Bailey.
Hint:
Building a good team: Do not try to make a great team by trading all the good players
to one team. Instead, go to "Edit Player" and make the people on
the team better by increasing agility, speed, etc. Or, find all the good
players with a 90 overall rating and a 90 import rating. A team of created
players would work as well, if all players are above 90 in import.
Hint:
Recommended play: Select any playbook. When you are on offense choose the
"I" formation, and then select the "Strikeout" play.
Your HB will run one screen to the left and your fullback will go to the
right. Pass to the fullback. You can do this play repeatedly, picking up 5
to 10 yards each time. It is impossible for the CPU or another person to
defend. If you choose Sam Gash or Mike Alstott as your fullback, you can
get 5 to 20 yards every time. This works best to the strong side. For
example, if the strong side is your left side, press R1 before you
select the play. This will switch the play and make your fullback go left.
Hint:
Recommended playbook: To get the best playbook, select Tony Dungy. It has the best
run play and pass plays. The best run play is Quick Toss, and the best
pass play is Hail Mary. To prevent interceptions, hold L2 when
pressing Circle, Square, etc. This is called Route-Based
Passing.
Hint:
Team rankings: The following a list of the teams from best to worst.
Please
select the first letter of the game's title below. If the word
"The" appears at the start of a title, ignore it and search for
the second word in the title:
