Completion
bonus: Successfully complete the game to unlock the parody mode. Parody
mode replaces the original text with joke dialogue. Note: This is only
available in the Japanese version.
Hint:
Defeating Cubia: At a certain point, you will get an email from Aura that is as
always garbled, but she will mention Cubia in it and Kite will mention the
name. immediately stock up on magic scrolls , spells, and magic armors . You
will be forced to take Mistral along for this, but this is a good thing.
Your other character should be a powerhouse such as Blackrose, Gardenia, or
Piros. When you reach the bottom of the dungeon, you will be attacked by
Cubia. The actual boss here will be Cubia Core, which will spawn other
variations of Cores such as Repth Core. This should be your first priority.
The Repth Core holds 1,000 HP. This must be killed first or it will heal
Cubia for 400 Hp at a time. After you kill it, ignore the others and order
your companions to use magic on the Cubia Core (which holds 5,000 HP). After
about 1000 damage it will launch a powerful attack. You should immediately
heal yourself, then order your companions to attack the Repth Core again
with physical attacks this time. Then once again, attack Cubia Core . You
will need to repeat this multiple times. Remember to alternate between
physical and magical attacks after he launches a powerful attack.
Hint:
Defeating Goblins:
Have some Wood magic equipped. Start the match, wait until the Goblin runs,
then sits still for a moment. Then, use the magic. Goblins are all weak
against Wood; two shots will kill them.
Hint:
Defeating Golden Goblins:
Stock up on Wood scrolls. When you get into battle with the goblins, let
them run away. Turn your view so that you can see them. When the battle says
off and they standing still ,you will be able to hit them with level 1 Wood
spells.
Hint:
Defeating Martina R: After you defeat Magus (the last Boss), the message board gets
updated and you are challenged to another round of Goblin Tag. Go to the
Root Town and look for a player named Koji. Trade him whatever you can for a
Beast's Bane. Go to Lambda: Detestable, Vengeful, Gate and you will start
the fight with Martina R. You will notice that physical attacks do very
little, if you can even hit her, and no magic can hurt her. Use the Beast's
Bane and it will lower her Magic Defense significantly. If you have the
Fishskin Twin Blade weapon (obtained by Data Draining the Squidpod enemy)
you can use Merrows. Using Merrows one time should knock about 1,000 HP off
of Martina. Use it a second time to finish her off. After the battle,
Martina gives you the Imp's Praises Key Item. Once again, equip all the
Goblin Armor on Kite and he will be able to summon level 2 Goblins.
You can also buy the Beast's
Bane in the Delta and Theta servers, which makes it easier than searching
for Koji.
Hint:
Defeating House Golems:
You can defeat a House Golem by having a Wavemaster repeatedly use a level 2
Tornado skill (element does not matter); or go to the Delta or Theta servers
and buy lots of Warrior Banes. Use it on the House Golem and he will no
longer be physical tolerant. Note: Always have a Wavemaster and/or lots of
healing potions, Mage's Souls, and Resurrects.
Hint:
OVA Keyword:
In the OVA that comes with the game, there is a hidden Keyword shown while
Mai is on the computer: Lambda: Capricious, Unending, Corridor. When you
reach the statue of Gott at the end of the dungeon, you will get Chinese
Food. Go back to the Root Town and look for a player named Annri. You can
trade the Chinese Food for a Super Wufei (a very powerful spear for either
Nuke Usagimaru or Gardenia).
Hint:
Bony Grunty (Lambda Server):
Feed your little Grunty: 4 Cordycep, 1 Mandragora, 2 Piney Apple, 1 Snaky
Cactus, and many Golden Eggs until it is an adult.
Hint:
Snakey Grunty (Lambda Server): Feed your little Grunty 2 Cordycep, 2 La Pumpkin, 2 Mandragora, 2
Twilight Onion, and 16 Golden Eggs.
Hint:
Grunty racing: When you are Grunty racing, make sure you save any progress you
made in the game. First, get a lot of practice by not worrying about wasting
all your money. Then, reset the game without saving to get your money back.
Do not save if you place first. If you wait until you get very good, first
will be easy. Instead, try to place a half to one second past second place
so that you can get up to three Silver Gruntys. Do the same thing for first
place to get up to three Golden Gruntys.
Hint:
Grunty food: An easy way to get food for Grunties is to go to the areas where
you played tag with the Goblins. There usually is a lot of food there, and
no monsters.
When you are looking for Grunty
food in the field, call Noble Grunty and press Triangle. He will
automatically track down Grunty food for you. Also, Aqua Grunty and Rocker
Grunty will take you to the dungeon if you are too far away from the
dungeon.
Hint:
Drain Arc: After obtaining the last Ryu Book (Ryu Book VIII), Data Drain a
few more times to obtain Drain Arc, which allows you to Data Drain multiple
enemies at one time.
Hint:
Golden Eggs: Go to Lambda Collapsed Pangen Remains. In the third room is a
Golden Egg. Get it, then go to the field. Walk or use Sprite Orcanas to get
to the field. Repeat this as many times as desired to get many Golden Eggs.
On the level where the people
are trading, go to where the Golden Gruntie Egg is located. Take it, leave
the dungeon, then turn. There will be another one.
Hint:
Golden Axe and Silver Axe: Go to the weapons shop in root town Lambda - L, Cultural City
Carmina Gadelica and buy one Spiral Edge for 700 GP. Each time you encounter
a Spring Of Myst, throw in the Spiral Edge. Monsieur will tell you that
"With a weapon of this level, there is nothing I can do". He will
give you back the Spiral Edge plus one Golden Axe and one Silver Axe every
time. Note: This trick works with any "rare" weapon thrown in the
Spring Of Myst.
Hint:
Key Axe: If you completed .hack Part 1: Infection and finished the
OVA Keyword dungeons you should have an Ice Bar. If not, go to Delta:
Hideous, Organ Market, Scaffold, and when you reach the Statue of Gott you
will receive the Ice Bar. Go to the Root Town and look for a player named
Panta. You trade the Ice Bar to him for a Level 38 Key Axe.
Hint:
Sprite Ocarina: Buy a single Sprite Ocarina from an item store. When you need to
exit a dungeon, do not select it from the items list. Instead, press Square
to display the party command window. From there, select "Use Sprite
Ocarina". By doing this, you will never use the Sprite Ocarina in your
items. Note: This will not work if you have not formed a party.
Hint:
Getting items needed for trade: Use the following trick to get certain items needed for trade
(for example, Cooked Bile). Remember a place that has the item and go there.
Once you get to a place with a lot of jars or eggs/small eggs (usually a
treasure box area), break everything. If you get the desired item, exit then
immediately return. The jars or eggs/small eggs have been restored. Break
everything again. Note: This does not mean you will get the desired item
every time. Keep repeating the process until you have enough of those items
to trade. You will get items that are useful, such as Healing Potions,
Healing Drinks, Antidotes, Resurrects, and Restoratives. This is especially
useful just before Bosses. Also, since it is free you will not want waste
any money.
Hint:
Getting good weapons: Visit your Grunty to get good weapons that might help. Just go to
Lamda or the first place where you raised your own Grunty then talk and
trade.
First, get a powerful weapon
that you can hold. Unequip it and go to a high level area. Go to a stream
and throw the weapon in there. You will either get a more powerful weapon or
your original weapon back and a golden and silver axe. If it does not
happens, go to a higher level area with a stream.
Hint:
Rare weapons: If you Data Drain monsters, you can either get Virus Cores or
weapons/armor. Most high level monsters have very rare weapons and strong
armor. Most of these monsters are above level 45; be careful when fighting
them. If you do not receive the item, keep Data Draining that monster.
However, do not Data Drain too much where you are in danger of system
crashing.
House Golem: Laevateinn
(Heavy Blade)
Wander Demon: Rod of Pattern (Wave Master)
Mad Witch: SWORD (Blademaster)
Harpy Queen: Great Elite (Wavemaster), Jishuwen (Long Arm)
Easter Rock: 8 Key Guardian (Heavy Axeman)
Squidpod: Fishskin (Twin Blade)
King Worm: Bureido (Blademaster)
Angolmere: Crimson Raid (Twin Blade)
Hint:
Easy experience: If you are level 30 or more, go to a place 40 or above. Keep
using magic skills to gain levels very quickly and easily.
If you are at or above level
40, go to Lambda: Chosen Hopeless Nothingness. The monsters here are easy to
defeat.
Go to an area with a battle
level at least six or seven levels higher than yours. Bring either Mistral
or Elk and any other character around your level. Do not go into the
dungeon, as it is too strong. Bring either The Moons or The Hanged Mans. If
you know that Mu Guardians will be there (or any other anti-paralysis
monsters), bring more of The Moons. Get into a battle on the field and use
either The Moon or The Hanged Man. When the monster is stunned, attack
strongly. After killing it, if your level is about ten or eleven levels
lower than the battle level, you should gain about 400 to 600 experience
points. Note: Party members that you did not bring will also get experience,
according to if they were there fighting with you.
Later in the game, around the
level 80s range, you will be required to gate hack OMEGA Muted Starving
DrySea. Once there you will find a monster called Guardian. Before killing
it, Data Drain it to get a very good item. You will most likely get about
520 experience points by doing this, rather than the small amount normally
obtained if you just killed it.
Hint:
Easy weapon and armor power up: Go to the Chaos Gate at the third server and choose to write a
new keyword. The first two words can be anything, and for the last word
enter "sea of sand". You will always get a power up spring and the
weather will always be sunny. Take a weapon and power up it until it cannot
be more powerful. Note: It is recommended that you to take a high level
keyword, like 42 and above, and that you have the Grunty Flute to avoid
encounters with very powerful monsters.
Use the following trick to get
the highest level for your weapons and armor per server. When at the Choas
Gate to choose a place to go, choose "New Keywords" instead of
"Random". Here is a simple formula to choose your keywords to get
a Monsenor (Blue) to upgrade your weapons: Enter anything for the first two
words, then "Aqua Field(Hypha)" for the last word. To get a Granpa
(Red) to upgrade your weapons, enter "Lonely(Great)" for the first
word, anything for the second word, then "Aqua Field(Hypha)" for
the last word. To get a Monsenor(Blue) to upgrade your armor, enter anything
for the first two words, then "Twin Hills" for the last word. To
get a Granpa (Red) to upgrade your armor, enter "Lonely(Great)"
for the first word, anything for the second word, and "Twin Hills"
for the last word.
Hint:
Hidden dungeon: After you defeat Magus (the last enemy), you will get two e-mails
from RIKA@Bandai.com. One just tells you that you can convert your game data
into the next .hack. The other one gives you a hidden dungeon. Restock on
healing items and Resurrects when you log on and give your characters the
strongest armor and weapons you have. Mia and Wiseman also are finally able
to join your party. Take Wiseman (Elk or Mistral will do just fine) and
someone with good attacks. Give Wiseman better armor (something that lets
him cast Ola Repth and Rip Maen recommended) and a good weapon (Great Elite
or Rod of Pattern recommended). After fully prepared, go to Theta: Bitter,
Fantasy, Mirror World. Use the Virus Core U you received earlier to hack the
Gate. The dungeon is level 50; make sure everyone is at a high level. When
you reach the door with the purple flame, a Boss is behind it. Heal your
characters and recover their SP. Head to the magic portal and you will fight
Agnomen. Angolmere is an easy Boss if you know the correct tactics. Have
Kite attack a couple of times and retreat so the Boss will not hit you. Send
your attacker to attack and use skills. He or she will most likely get
killed frequently; use Resurrects to revive them. Set Wiseman to First Aid
and occasionally switch him to use magic. Angolmere only attacks one
character at a time. This lets you attack him as he is barraging your other
character. Keep Wiseman healing, and when he gets low, use a Mage's Soul on
him. When Angolmere gets a little more than halfway past his health, he
Protect Breaks. Use Data Drain and you will receive the Crimson Raid Twin
Blade weapon. Also, after you kill the Death Head that he becomes after Data
Drain, you receive the Lucky Shoes which allows the casting of Rig Saem and
Rig Gaem.
Hint:
Finding your way through dungeons: When you first enter a dungeon, go to your items menu and use a
Fairy Orb. You will now be able to see the door that leads to go down.
Hint:
High level fields: In the Lambda server, if you type in Chosen, Hopeless, (and
another keyword) you will get fields that range from level 48 to 50.
Hint:
Easy monsters: Go to the Lambda server and enter the key words Bitter, Hopeless,
Spiral to go to a level 50 area with monsters that are easy to defeat. Equip
Slayers or a twin blade weapon with Dragon Slayer to easily defeat them. You
will get over 500 experience points per monster if you are below level 37.
To get easy level dungeons with
only two floors, very few monsters and, at the most eight portals in the
dungeon use the keywords Generous Primitive, then and any other word at the
bottom of the list. This works in the Beta Root Town only. This is an easy
way to get dungeons off your Ryu Books unlock a movie or music.
Hint:
Exit dungeons quickly: Whenever you get lost in a dungeon, for example one that is
crawling with Data Bugs, and you need the fastest route out; or if you just
want to exit, remember that you can also use the Fairies Orb inside the
dungeon as well as outside.
Hint:
Hidden meetings: You can do this at any time, but you may want to do it early. Go
to Delta:Hidden, Forbidden, Holy Ground. This is the same place from .hack:
Infection that BlackRose invites you to, and the first place you met
Balmung. When you go through the doors, an intermission sequence will begin
and you will see a meeting with the characters from .Hack//Sign. It is also
the same scene from .Hack//Sign where Mimiru and Bear think Tsukasa is a
girl. When the scene finishes, you will receive M:Wavemaster to your Key
Items and a Golden Grunty under the Books section of your items. The Golden
Grunty raises your Max HP by 30 and the M:Wavemaster is a line that Tsukasa
says from the anime.
After the scene with Subaru,
Silver Knight, Bear, Mimiru, and BT, you will see another scene from
.Hack//Sign. This time, it is the meeting between Crim and Sora. After the
scene, you will get the M:Long Arm added to your Key Items and another
Silver Grunty which raises your Max SP by 15. You can see the first scene at
the beginning of the game, but you have to wait until you finish other
events before going back to see more.
If you go back to Delta:
Hidden, Forbidden, Holy Ground after the scene with Sora and BT, you will
see another scene from .Hack//Sign. This time it is the meeting between
Subaru, Silver Knight, Bear, Mimiru, and BT concerning Tsukasa not being
able to log out of "The World." After the scene, you will receive
M:Heavy Axeman and another Golden Grunty which raises you Max HP by 30.
If you go back to Delta:
Hidden, Forbidden, Holy Ground after the scene with Tsukasa, Bear, and
Mimiru, you will see another scene from .Hack//Sign, where Sora asks for
BT's member address. After the scene concludes, you will receive M:Twin
Blade for your Key Items and a Silver Grunty which raises your Max SP by 15.
If you are lucky enough, you
will get a message on the board for Mimiru and Bear. It will then say a
place where they will meet. At the end of the dungeon, you will see Mimiru
actually there (not in memory fragment form). She will then give you heavy
blade called Mimiru's Sword before leaving.
Hint:
Defeating Goblins: Keep going out of battle mode and the Goblin will stop and wait.
Then, run towards him and he will run straight at you. Then, all you have to
do is slash him. Keep doing this and you will win easily. Sometimes if you
run from him, he will chase you. If this happens, do a quick turn around and
slash him, then run out of battle mode to make him stop.
Hint:
Defeating the last Boss: After you go to Net Slum, you can fight the last Boss. You have
to kill the leaves that it drops. Hit it until it breaks and Data Drain it.
Hint:
DVD secrets: The DVD that is included with the game has a secret section. It
reveals secrets in the game. Highlight the gallery of pictures, then press Right.
The pointer will disappear. Press X or Enter, then scroll
right and left between secrets one to ten.
Hint:
Data Drain warning: When you Data Drain, do not use it as often as you would have in .hack:
Infection. The viral infection has spread almost twice as fast and is
much more dangerous to Kite. To lower your viral infection significantly, go
to an area in Delta server, then defeat all the monsters in the dungeon and
field. Note: This also helps in Gott statues, treasure boxes, crates,
skeletons, all field portals opened, and all dungeon portals opened for the
Book Of Ryus.
When you Data Drain, the guide
states that you can be deleted or your character can be destroyed. However,
apparently this does not happen. The only thing that can occur is your meter
going up to dark red and reading "Warning".
Note: If you keep on using it
after it says "Infection", "Warning",
"Dangerous", and something else, you can lose 1,000 experience
points. This will cause you go down a level. It will also say that
"Data Drain is out of control" and your HP and SP are at 1.
Sometimes you will die in "the world", or nothing will happen to
you.
Hint:
Easier game: It is much easier if you have a Wavemaster in your party, whether
it is Elk, Wiseman, or someone else; and also have a heavy blade person.
This helps very much. Also keep your other members leveled up with you
because you have to use them at times.
Buy items such as Speed Scroll,
Warrior Blood, Hermit Blood, etc. to have a better boosted character.
Hint:
Easy level up: Put in a random keyword until you find a significantly higher
level than yours (use Kite only) and make sure what element it is. Once you
reach the server, use Speed Scrolls, Warrior Bloods, etc., and items such as
Burning Oil, Well Water, or magics to raise element damage. Use a Hermit
Blood on Kite and raise his element damage with an item/magic (whichever
element is needed). Encounter an enemy with the opposite element and you
will do heavy damage. After you level up, bring your other characters to the
stage. You will notice that they also grew in levels by a bit. Use the same
strategy (if needed) and raise their level as well.
Hint:
Easy battles: Keep powering up your Wavemasters so that you can just let them
do all the work. None of them will get hurt. Make sure to have a lot of
Artisan's Souls.
When you are going out to go to
fields, choose Blackrose and Mistral in your party. They are very useful.
Make sure they have strong weapons from .hack Part 1: Infection. Have
Mistral equip Starstrom or Storm whatever. She will have Summonings 1 and 2
of Earth Yarthkins and level 2 Vulcan Fire. Also find an armor for her that
has Ola Repth. It recovers 400 HP with anyone near the target she is
healing. When in battle, have Mistral use the First Aid command and if you
have to everyone First Aid.
Hint:
Opposites: The characters in game and the television series .hack//sign are
similar in appearances, but different in personalities. The following is a
list of the game characters and their opposites.

Bear

Glitch:
Grunty shadows: When in a field and you are riding a Grunty, look at its shadow.
It should look completely different from the Grunty itself.
Grunty the Kid 2 on the Lambda
server looks different when you look at his shadow. He has large bull-like
horns when you view his shadow.
Look at the shadows of the
Grunties in both Theta and Lambda servers. You can see a Grunty shadow with
horns and you on top. This happens with both the stray Grunties and the
Grunties that you own.
Glitch:
Character Data shadows: Go over to the cliff just off the bridge on the way to the Grunty
Shop in Theta server. It will be on the right side of the cliff if you were
to face the Grunty Shop. Your shadow will show your legs right side up on
the side of the cliff instead of your head. This appears this way for all
characters. In Delta server, the end of the bridge on one side shows your
legs right side up for all characters.
Glitch:
Skeith Data Drains his wand: Go to your desktop. If have unlocked the movies, watch the one
were Skeith Data Drains your character. Because it could be a random
character, it will not show anyone, and Skeith will Data Drain his wand.
Please
select the first letter of the game's title below. If the word
