Hint:
Nimbus 2000 Broomstick: On the second day of school, go to the Quidditch practice.
Complete the training with a "B" or better rank to get the Nimbus
2000 flying broomstick. You can now fly anywhere around the school during
the day. Note: You can only land on grass and cannot fly inside the school.
Hint:
Zoom view: Press R3 to zoom the view.
Hint:
Easy Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans: When you exit of the Gryffindor Tower notice the object in the
corner. Hit it with Flipendo and three Beans will appear. Go around the
corner and walk at least three steps away. Return and cast Flipendo again to
get three more Beans. Repeat this to get as many Beans as needed.
Use the Nimbus 2000 Broomstick
and fly above Hogwarts. Fly through the rings to get free Beans. A blue ring
gives 10 Beans, a yellow ring gives 1 Bean, a red ring gives 3 Beans and a
green ring gives 2 Beans.
At the beginning at Ron's house
is a tool chest in their barn. Every time it moves on its own means that you
can shoot it with Flapendo to get more beans.
When you go outside of
Hogwart's, go to the tree where you walk through a long hallway and Flapendo
it to get as many Beans as needed.
Go to seventh floor. Go to the
jar next to the picture. Shoot the jar three times. Either one or three
beans should appear; or a pie. Walk as if you are leaving and go to the
moose head. Go back to the jar and shoot to get more. Repeat this as many
times as needed.
Once you get the key to the
Confiscated Items room, go in there and get your six Wizard Cards and your
200 Bean Bag. After you run out of Beans or are low on them, go back to the
Confiscated Items room. The chest that had the 200 Bean Bag, is closed
again. Reopen the chest and you will get a refill of 200 Beans.
When you have the key to the
Confiscated Items room, just save and reload and the 200 Bean Bag will be
back. You can repeat this every time you need more Beans.
Go to the Dueling Room and walk
down the stairs. There should be someone that is standing to the left of the
room. Go up to him and duel him. When you have defeated him, there will be
another person standing next to him. Keep defeating the people until you
reach the last person. When you have defeated the last person, duel him
repeatedly until you have the desired amount of Beans. If the last person is
too difficult to defeat, then go to the second to last person (to the left
of the last person), and duel that person repeatedly.
On the second day (not night),
go to the Quidditch Stadium and get an C, B, or A grade and keep your Nimbus
2000. During the day, you can get on your broom, go through some rings in
the sky and get Beans, as follows. Note: If you can manage to fly through a
ring slowly and turn around and speed up, you can go through that ring
twice. This will not give you twice the beans, but two new rings will appear
instead of one. It is possible to fly through a single ring up to four
times, but it is very difficult.
Gold Rings: 1 Bean
Red Rings: 2 Beans
Green Rings: 5 Beans
Blue Rings: 10 Beans
To get unlimited Beans when you
are in Hogwarts, go to the Second Floor Charms and Library area, located off
the main staircase (preferably at night). As you enter this area, go into
the second door on your left, then take the first door on your right (being
careful of the Fire Crab). Once in here, there are three wooden boxes that
release Beans when they are Flippendoed. They will release about ten from
each box. When they are dry, exit this room then immediately re-enter it.
Hit the boxes again. Continue doing this until you are full of Beans and
return at anytime to fill up again.
On the seventh floor of the
grand staircase, go into the Arithmacy class and hit the small globe three
times to get three Beans, Walk out and in again. Repeat this until you have
enough. Then, go to Fred and George's shop and buy and Bertie Botts Bean Bag
to be able to get more beans. Keep collecting Beans to afford anything
desired. Note: Watch out for the ghost that haunts the class. Do go near her
or risk losing some Beans.
When almost at the end of the
game, go to the entrance of the gate. You will see a boy there. Do his
mission and you will get Beans.
Go outside the Entrance Hall
and Flipendo each of the round-branched trees closest to the entrance. Note:
You must alternate between each of the trees.
Go to the second floor in the
grand staircase and Diffindo the tapestry on the left. Go inside and go
straight, then turn left up the stairs, turn right once at the top, and then
go right. Once in there, turn left and go up the small set of steps. After
that, turn right and there will be a treasure chest covered in Ectoplasm.
Use Skurge and search the chest to get a 100-capacity bean bag. When you get
it, you will automatically have 100 Beans, Note: You can only do this once.
At night, go to the third floor
(Defense Against The Dark Arts), and go through the door on the left. Note:
If there is a slope going down, then it is the other door; do not go down
the slope. You should end up in a long hall which curves around. Turn right
and destroy the books that attack you with Flipendo. There is a pot in
between that gives three Beans. Then, turn around and you should see some
suits of armor. Next to them are there is two shield-like objects (they
resemble an award) and one pot, each positioned in between the suits of
armor. There are four suits of armor. Each pot and shield when Flipendoed
give out five Beans. Next, go through the classroom door (not the classroom
you have Defense Against The Dark Arts at; it is on the other side of the
hall on the back wall). Flipendo the hat thing on the bench and collect the
Beans. Go out and do the shields and pot things with Flipendo again to get
fifteen or more Beans. Note: There are no Prefects around.
When you are in the Florish And
Blots book shop, go up to any bookshelf and press X. Harry will
search for beans. Most shelves have three or four beans, and there are lots
of shelves.
Go to the Herbology Greenhouse
#3. Just as you enter the gate, turn around and shoot Flipendo at the two
short round topped trees by the gate. If you exit the gate then return, you
will get more beans. If your Stamina is low, you will also get Pumpkin
Pastries. This is best done at night so that you do not get disturbed.
On the seventh floor by the
Gryffindor door, to the right in the corner is a shield on a small table.
Hit it with Flippendo and a bean should come out. Hit it a few more times
until three beans appear. Then, go towards the Grand Staircase. There should
be two pots on small tables. Hit them until three beans appear. Sometimes
only one or two will come out. Go back to the shield and hit it again. More
beans should appear. Go into the Gryffingor tower, come back out, and do it
again. It is possible to get 100 beans in about fifteen minutes.
When you go to Defense Against
The Dark Arts next or a class inside the castle, walk up the hallway just
outside your classroom. If you see any pots or shields on little tables, hit
them with Flapendo. You will get some Berttie Bott's Every Flavor Beans (or
a Caldron Cake).
Go to the Defense Against The
Dark Arts floor and open the door on the right. There will be shields and
items on tables next to suits of armor. Cast Flipendo on them to get three
to five beans and health.
Hint:
Lower Bean price: When you ask a student to trade a wizard card and he or she asks
you for too many Beans, click on "No" move some steps back and ask
again. The quantity of beans will be reduced.
Hint:
Easy Wizard Cards: Go to the Burrow and Diagon Alley. Look for chests there for
Wizard Cards.
Go Neville's games, especially
Broom Racing, to get Wizard Cards. Note: You will have to pay Beans to
participate in Broom Racing and Gnome Tossing, Gnome Dunking is free.
In Ron's barn at the very
beginning is a card on top of the rafters. To get it, you need to climb the
chicken coop outside.
Aserisz.
Go to the fourth floor. Look
under every bookshelf. You should notice there is no wall under one of them.
The path leads to three treasure chests, revealing Wizard And Witches Cards.
When in Fred and George's Shop,
go to the card nearest to the bathroom stalls. When you press X to
hear information on the card, Harry will say instead of naming the card
"How much is this Famous Witches and Wizrds Card?". It will still
cost thirty Beans, but you will get one of the cards you missed. It will
reappear after you purchase it. The order you receive them is from the first
one you missed to the most recent one you missed.
Go to the fourth floor and look
for a staircase that has no wall under it. It will say "Crawling"
in the top corner. Go in it and explore to find two Wizard Cards and a
cauldron for refilling your potion vial.
Go outside and look for flame
torches. Light all of them with Incendio to find a chest. A Wizard Card will
be inside. The torches will be on top of towers.
Look for groups of torches
while you are flying above Hogwarts. Land and light the entire group of
torches. When you have done this, a chest will appear with a Wizard Card
inside. You can find the torches near where you located the Dragon Hide
Gloves, on a rooftop, and in a courtyard.
When you get your Nimbus 2000
from Oliver Wood, get on your broom and fly over the flying lessons area,
and directly over the confiscated items storeroom. There will be a window
that is half open. Run into it on your broom and you will get a free Wizard
Card.
When you read one of the books
in the Library, it tells of a boy who kept a Wizard Card in a broken window.
Fly on your broomstick to one of the tower ledges. You should find a window
that is broken and has two boards covering the top and bottom of it. Get on
your broomstick and ram the window. A Wizard Card will appear.
Hint:
Easy house points: In the Chamber Of Secrets, destroy paintings on the wall. You
will open the painting and get 100 points for Gryffindor.
After returning from the
Whomping Willow, head deep to your right when Professor Snape finishes
scolding you. There, in a corner, you will find your first Notice Board
Item. You can return it to the Notice Board before or after you go to the
Restroom Shop the Weasley's set up, earning you the very first 10 points in
the game, and possibly a Wizards Card.
As soon as you exit Flitwick's
or McGonagall's spell challenge (not Lockhart's), the teacher gives you 40
house points. Save the game before leaving the room then quit. Load the game
again and you will see yourself appear from the portrait hole, but this time
everyone in the room is invisible. The invisible teacher will then give you
another 40 house points. Save the game, and repeat this process as many
times as desired to build up house points. Note: You can get over triple
figures.
Go to the bulletin board in the
common room and keep returning items to their owners. You will receive ten
points each time you find and return an item.
On your first day at Hogwarts,
you take a flying exam in Flying Class. To get extra house points, fail your
exam the first time. Then, go back later in the year and take the exam
again. If you get a better grade than before, Madam Hooch will give you more
house points. You can keep on doing this when you are in desperate need for
house points. Also, this will make it easier to defeat Slytherin for the
House Cup.
Hint:
Decrease Slytherin's House Points: When you get to the Polyjuice potion level when you turn into
Crabbe and Goyle, allow yourself to get caught by the Prefects. The Prefects
will take away at least 5 House Points from Slytherin. This is very helpful
if they are ahead of you on House Points. Note: This trick may not work on
all of the Prefects.
Hint:
Gain first place easier: When you turn into Crabbe and Goyle, allow yourself to get caught
by Prefects. Only do this on the Polyjuice Potion level. Try going outside
and get caught by Snape.
Hint:
Easy Sickles: Once you have collected your Standard Book of Spells (Grade 2) in
Diagon Alley, you can cast Flipendo to break barrels and uncover Sickles
that you can use to buy items such as Stink Pellets at Gambol and Japes.
In Diagon Alley, there are
three areas where you can break the barrels (using Flipendo) to get Sickles.
Remember to revisit these areas several times to get more Sickles. They
return three to four times after visiting a few shops.
When you are done collecting
all of Ginny's things, do not talk to her. Just go next to Gringott's bank
where the barrels are located. Smash all the barrels. Do not pick the
Sickles up until you have smashed all the barrels. If done correctly, you
will have 13 Sickles to spend.
Hint:
Stink Pellets: After you leave the Burrow and have finished collecting Ginny's
lost supplies, go around casting Perfect Flipendo's on all of the objects
you can find. Collect the Sickles, if they appear. Once you have enough
Sickles, enter Gambol and Japes. Purchase a 10-pack of Stink Pellets. These
can be useful when facing enemies, or if you are caught by a Prefect after
hours.
When you are in Diagon Alley,
buy Stink Pellets. This helps you in Hogwarts with the teachers.
Hint:
Easy duel win: First use Expellmarias until the orange ball is giant. When it is
in the air heading for your opponent, use Diffindo before it hits so they
cannot move away in time. Note: This may not always work.
Use Expelarmus (the shield) to
deflect the attack. Immediately after that, start charging Flipendo. Shoot
flipendo either when it is full or when the deflected attack is halfway
there, whichever occurs first. This will either cause the Flipendo to hit or
the deflected attack to hit. Note: Hold the aim sight (R1) to lock
the Flipendo spell on the enemy.
When you are dueling, press L1,
cast the Knockaback Jinx twice and dodge the reflected spell. This will not
work on Gargoyles, but is particularly useful against Draco Malfoy in
Defense Against The Dark Arts or Slytherins.
After you use your Expelliarmus
spell to deflect the Flipendo attack, before the attack hits your dueling
partner, use your Diffindo spell on them. This will cause them to fall down
and get blasted by the Expelliarmus you just repelled, winning you the
point.
Whenever you are doing a Wizard
duel, there is an easy way to defeat your opponent. Launch a Flipendo Spell
at your opponent immediately after you launch his spell back at him. He will
not be expecting it. This does not work when you are dueling with a
Gargoyle.
When you are dueling with
people (and not statues), go to the back of the room then turn around. When
your opponent strikes, hit it back. Go very close to the blue line but not
or past it. Hit it when it returns to you and it will more than likely hurt
your opponent. Repeat this as many times as needed.
To defeat Malfoy and his gang
easily in duels, let them shoot Flipendo at you. Next, use Expelliarmus to
reflect it back. Keep playing this little "tennis" game until the
magic ball is at the maximum size, then slowly move closer to the other
person. This will make it more difficult, but you will confuse them. This
works best on Goyle.
When Prefects come at you with
Locomotmortis, hit them with Flipendo and they will stop in their tracks.
When a Prefect's
Locomortomortus is about to hit you, use your Expelliarmus spell to repel
it, then run away. You can also Flipendo the Prefect before he puts the
spell on you. If you choose to do this, just quickly tap Flipendo. Do
not wind up. They will say "Ow!" and give you enough time to run
away.
After using Expelliarmus in a
duel, use the Scissor Charm to distract your opponent. They will be hit and
lose a point. This works about 95% of the time.
When dueling with Malfoy or any
of his accomplices, try to hit him first with Flipendo (hand). Do not charge
it. As he is receiving it, hit him again. If done with correct timing,
Malfoy (or whoever you are fighting) will be too busy blocking the first
Flipendo to block the second one. Be ready to block the first Flipendo with
Expelliarmus.
Hint:
Bertie Botts Bean Bag (100 Bean capacity): Use the Skurge spell on a chest covered in ectoplasm behind a
tapestry (you need the scissors spell) on the third floor, by the Defense
against the Black Arts classroom.
Hint:
Bertie Botts Bean Bag (200 Bean capacity): Gather every item for the students around Hogwarts (not the
Notice Board). You have to actually find the people. The final person will
give you a key to the confiscated items room. In there are six Wizards cards
and the biggest Bertie Bots Bean Bag.
Hint:
Diffindo Charm: When Hermione asks you to get the Marauding With Monsters book
and get the spell book to save Neville, go to the second floor and sneak
past the Prefects. Go into the library and get the book. Get down to the
main entrance and get past those Prefects. Then, go outside. Stay away from
Prefects and get to the Herbology Greenhouses near the forbidden forest and
Hagrid's hut. Do not get caught by Professor Snape. Go into Greenhouse #3
and get the charm. Also, fill you potion vial with Wiggenweld. For a small
shortcut, get caught by anyone but Snape. Go in and get to the second floor.
Once there, you will see an intermission sequence of Nearly Headless Nick
petrified. On the wall there will be a message:
The Chamber of secrets has
been open
Enemies of the heir... beware
Professor McGonagall will take
you to Dumbledore's office on Floor 3. Go back to the seventh floor and use
Diffindo on the tapestry. Do not go yet. Go in the room and there will be a
Famous Witch's or Wizard Card inside.
Hint:
Finding secret areas: If you see any bookcases that you cannot jump to and are thin,
approach them and press Square. They should reveal secret places.
Hint:
Secret passageway: On the fourth floor, there is a secret passageway that leads to
the second floor. It is next to the glass jar.
Hint:
Sneaking around at night: When sneaking around at night, you need to get by many of the
prefects. When you need to get by them, simply crawl under the bookcase to
the left of the portrait that leads to the Griffondore common room. It leads
through a secret passage that takes you to the fourth floor.
When sneaking around and you do
not want to walk slowly, you can use various objects and spells to distract
the prefects. Stink Pellets are not too reliable, but the non-explodable
luminous balloons work well. As for spells, try Flapendo.
Sometimes, very rarely, you can
press R1 to "take aim" then press X to dodge. The
uppergraders will just stare at you and say "Hey you!". You have
to do this repeatedly, pressing it continuously. Note: This may get annoying
-- you have to press the LeftAnalog-stick, and you walk
sideways.
On your night time errands, you
can take a quicker route down the floors. When you come out the Fat Lady
portrait, turn right. Walk along the nearest bookshelf until prompted to
crawl with X. Do this, then follow the path. Sometimes when going
down the stairs after the basilisk (and just before; the same night) has
attacked, you can hear it speaking. Also, when you are at the Weasley's
house, to get the card on the ledge in the barn, climb up from the hen house
near the washing machine once you have killed it.
Hint:
Avoiding ghosts: When you do not want to be hit by ghosts and lose all your items
(Balloons, Beans, and sometimes Stink Pellets) just stand on the ledge until
the specter nears you. Tap the Analog-stick so that you will fall and
catch the ledge. When you are hanging, they cannot hit you and cause your
items to go flying.
Another way to avoid the ghosts
and keep from losing your collected items is to use Lumos. Hold Down
to maximize the spell. The ghosts will not hit you when the light is on.
Sometimes this requires careful timing because you are trying to search and
collect items at the same time.
Hint:
Avoiding Ginny and Mrs. Weasley: Once you enter Diagon Alley, there is a way to avoid Ginny and
Mrs. Weasly. Stay against the left wall and you will be able to avoid them.
Also, when you finish getting all of Ginny's lost things, stay against the
opposite wall of where they are (opposite of Florrish and Blotts) and remain
close to the wall.
Hint:
Escape Uppergraders: When you are going to get caught by an Uppergrader and he uses
the Locomotomortis spell, use the shield spell to stop it and run away. If
done correctly, he will say "Did any one see him?".
When you go into a room that
has Prefects and teachers and you are not supposed to be there, you will be
instructed to sneak. Do not wall sneak. Change your view and look around.
Sometimes you may have to wait. Get in the nearest corner and wait. If you
hear them behind you, do not stop or look back. Keep going and get to the
door. Most of the time if you keep going and get to the door, you will not
be caught.
Hint:
Escaping the Slytherins: When you are in the Slytherin common room and need to get out,
hide behind the pillar on the right side and wait for the girl to pass.
Next, go into the room on your left and stay behind the door. The girl will
return and look around. She will not see you. After she walks away, run and
jump to avoid being captured. As soon as you exit the room, go to your left.
Once there, start running to the door to avoid being captured. This may take
a few attempts, as there are many people waiting by the door. Run very fast
instead of creeping there -- the Slytherins do not catch on very quickly
that you are there.
To escape the Slytherin, you
need to first open a painting in the painting room before the common room.
It is the second one the left. When avoiding Slytherins, run to the library
that you will find and go to the painting (behind). Open it, and it will be
much easier because you will be almost at the end.
Hint:
Deduct points from Slytherin: When Hermione changes you into Goyle, go out at night and try to
get caught by the Prefects (the people that patrol the halls). When you do,
Slytherin will get 5 house points deducted. You may repeat this process a
few times, but after awhile this will stop.
Hint:
Unfair Slytherin House Cup victory: If on the final day of term the House Points are tied, when you
talk to Hermione or Ron they will say that you definitely have enough House
Points to defeat Slytherin, However, when you go into the Great Hall,
Dumbledore will give the House Cup to Slytherin.
Hint:
Exiting the marble room: Hit only one of the blue hands with your wand. The farther back
you are, the better. Get a little close to the spiky balls and let them
chase you. They will only go so far then turn around. You should also turn
around. Then at the end if it a blue sparkly light appears, hit it with your
wand. It will blow up. Repeat this until they are all gone.
Hint:
Expelliarmus Challenge: Use your spell that cuts down tapestries and ropes on the spiked
ball. Walk up close to the edge and hold your trigger button (default R1),
charge up for a half second and cast. Note: If you throw the imps into the
fiery pits, they will die and you do not have to worry about them. Likewise,
if you throw them all away you cannot put them into the cages to get out;
but when all are indeed gone, they respawn from that hatch in the wall at
the first ramp.
To defeat the spiked balls at
the start of the Expelliarmus Challenge, wait until one of them comes after
you, then dodge it. When it is going back, hit it with a Knockback Jinx.
Another will appear. There are about eight of them.
Hint:
Professor Flitwick's Incedio Challenge: Once you get the Incedio Spell, return to the main room and make
sure the two pillars are down. Go into one of them and switch the flame
direction so that the flames are both are on one side of the room. On the
other side, use Incedio to light the pigs and Flapendo to point them up to
lift the platform; then again on the other one. Run quickly to the switch by
the exit. If successful the door, will be unlocked halfway. You will need to
do likewise with the other side. Note: You do not have to charge at all --
this gives you a few extra needed seconds.
Hint:
Fighting with Expelliarmus: When in one of the few battles with Hogwart's students (just the
Slytherin Gang, all others leave you alone), let them make the first shot
and bounce it back. Just as you do, use your Flapendo with a quarter to half
second charge to knock them back, thus trapping them with two spells to
knock back, which they can never manage. Note: Beware, just as you finish
casting Flapendo (depending on distance), you will be forced to use your
Expelliarmus almost instantly.
Hint:
Key to Confiscated Items storeroom: Look on the grounds for people ho will ask you to do things for
them. After you have done something for everyone, the last person will give
you the key and tell you where the Confiscated Items storeroom is located.
Hint:
Hermione's book quest: After you have defeated the Book Shelf on your quest to find the
book for Hermione, grab the block and take it all the way to the front of
the room in front of the first book shelf in a row of book cases. When you
are on the first book case, you will see flying books staying in one place.
Cast the Hand spell on them and jump across.
Hint:
Finding the Ghoul book: Go through the tunnel with two star bushes that is near the
flying field with Ms. Hooch. Then, fly to the left and you will find a ledge
that has the book on it.
Hint:
Finding the Holidays With Hags book: Go to the door to the Whomping Willow and get on your broom. Fly
in a straight line from the door and stay low to the ground. The book will
be in a corner at the wall.
Hint:
Hogwarts: A History book: When you climb on the book shelves, hit the flying books two
times and they will fall. You can now jump onto the next shelf. When you
make it to the book, it does not matter if you die -- you will be put back
up onto the ledge.
In order to get past the
Prefects, shoot Expelleramus at their Locomotomortis spell just as when they
are going to hit you. Follow the map above to get to the picture. you must
hit each of the prefects with the cheat. Once you get to the picture, go
towards the right and climb the ladder. Then, slide against the wall and get
to the next ladder. Do this repeatedly until you reach a large iron door. In
both of these rooms, watch out for books. Then, when you enter the room, go
to the left, find a perch, and call Hedwig. You must then find the owl
treats on the other side of the room in the chest. Feed Hedwig and he will
lower a ladder by a door covered in Ectoplasma near the chest. Note: The
ladder is to the left; it is hidden very well on a bookcase. Also, remember
this place, as you will need to go back to it. Climb the ladder and jump to
the platform above the Ectoplasma-covered door. Then, jump again and then
once more. You should be at a place near a balcony. Cut the red ribbon with
the Defindo spell. Then, jump onto it. Go to the other side and Defindo
again on this ribbon. Jump onto the bookcase and use the Lumos spell to see
where you are going. Note: Put away the Lumos spell before you jump. Then,
jump again and then once more to reach the book. A "mysterious"
door will open and you must go through it. Save the game before entering.
Watch out for ghosts and books in this room. Then, you must defeat the
bookcase. Hit the bookcase with Flippendo frequently, until it rumbles and
shakes. Run away behind another bookshelf and wait for two groups of swishes
or two groups of books to pass, then repeat the process until it dies. Then,
push the box to the bookcase nearest to the front in the center. Hop onto it
and climb onto the bookshelf. Hit the books two times and jump over to the
next shelf. Keep doing this until you reach the other book. This book allows
you to defeat the Ectoplasma. Leave the room and go to the door that you
noted. Use the new spell on it and go through the door. Then, go to the
other side of the room and open the door. You will see a strange door and
green walls with ghosts in them. You must use the Ectoplasma spell and
release the ghosts. Do not let them hit you. After you use the spell, go
into the room that it opens. Find the button and push it. Do this to the
other walls. Two of the times, Goyle and another kid will battle you (not
Draco though). Then, when all the bars over the door open, go through the
door. This room will look strange. You must push the boxes to the beginning
of the room, where there is an open spot in the ledge. Go up onto the ledge
and you will see a curtain. Cut it down and use the Skurge (Ectoplasma)
spell on the lever. Do this to the other side of the room. After this is
done, the door will open. Go through it and use Lumos to light up the room.
You will now be where you are after you push the secret door.
Hint:
Finding the package for the Boy from Gryffindor: When the boy from Gryffindor outside on the grounds near the exit
of the tunnel asks you to find something his owl dropped, get on your Nimbus
2000 and fly towards the lake. You will find the package there. Once you
have it, take it to him. Run there if you do not have a broomstick.
Hint:
Gnome tossing: When you want to throw a Gnome far, try to get a little close to
the leaves by the pond and between a fern. It is a few of steps away from
Fred and George. Start spinning, then when you are going fast, let go. The
gnome should go far. Note: This may require some practice. Do not spin too
long or you will get dizzy.
It seems that you spin eight
times before you get dizzy. Also, if other gnomes hit you, you may throw
them twice as far.
On the last day, go down by the
lake. There will be three bushes. Three gnomes should be running back and
fourth. Hit one with the Stunning Charm and pick it up. Throw it in the
lake. Do this with all three of them. After you have thrown all three of the
gnomes in the lake, a chest should appear with a Famous Witch And Wizard
Card.
Hint:
Secret from Hedwig: When you see Hedwig, do Alahomara to him and he might unlock a
secret. This does not always happen, but does work sometimes.
Hint:
Defeating the Basilisk: Grab the sword, but do not attempt to hit it when you get the
first chance. When the basilisk gets very tall and green appears from its
mouth, use the sword on the black diamond on his chest while he is up. To do
that, make sure you lock on, and then press Circle. Continue to do
this and he will be defeated soon. Note: Only attack him while his head is
far above the ground.
You can use either Flipendo or
Incendio (recommended). Let get fully powered, aim at its scales (not its
head) and release the button. After five to ten hits, you should defeat it.
Also, do not touch the snake or let it touch you. If you do, you will be
poisoned. Watch out -- it will get mad and "stomp" to make the
stalactites fall. After losing a third of its health, it will start to shoot
poison out of its mouth.
After you pick up the sword,
wait for the Basilisk to rear upward, then aim with R1 and shoot him
at the diamond on his chest. Use the Left Analog-stick to hit it.
When you are actually hitting the Basilisk, your controller will rumble for
a few seconds then Harry will jolt back and Tom Riddle will yell
"No!". Your sword will fly out of your hands. You have to shoot
him four times like this. The first time, the sword will land on the
platform to the right (when facing the strange door that closes on you). The
second time, it will land on the platform to the left. The last time it will
land by Tom Riddle. Watch out for falling rocks -- you can see their shadows
on the floor when they are falling. You will then defeat him.
After you have picked up the
sword, it is a lot easier to hit him with the beam from the sword if you are
standing directly in front of him. Note: You must move out of the way when
the beam has finished, otherwise he will fall on you.
When you get in the Chamber Of
Secrets, nothing will jump out and attack you. If desired, save the game,
then go forward and an intermission sequence will begin. When it is over,
Fawkes (the red bird phoenix) blinds the snake (Basilisk) and drops a sword.
Get it. When the battle commences, dodge the poison the Basilisk shoots
after you. Wait until his mouth glows. Be accurate and shoot him with the
sword thing. Note: He will shoot several times. The sword will then fly back
or in another direction. The Basilisk will crawl into a pipe and Fawkes
drops health. Get the sword quickly. Watch out for the Basilisk as he crawls
back out of another pipe or the big mouth. Dodge his poison several times
and shoot when his mouth glows. Basically, repeat this three or four times
unless you miss him once or twice.
When the basilisk attacks, run
in circles until he stops shooting at you. Then, hit him. Keep repeating
until he is dead.
Hint:
Defeating the Bookcase: Flippendo him in the front repeatedly until you see him fall. You
will then be able to pull the box to the end. Then, jump from pillar to
pillar and you find the spell book. It will allow you to destroy Green
Goop-A-Goop.
To avoid being hit by the
Bookcase, after you Flippendo it, it will start to shake. Run behind another
bookshelf and wait until you see two groups of books go by, or listen for
two swishes. Then, run back and repeat the process.
Hint:
Defeating Aragog: To get to it, use your Lumos spell to light the floor and follow
the trail of spiders. Unlike the book, the spiders that are not normal size
will try to kill you. Attack them with Incendio. When fighting the Giant
Mother Spider, do not try to hurt the spider itself. Instead, use your
Incendio spell to burn the web it has attached to the various trees. When
done, it will fall into the pit and you will slip in after it. In here, just
run around until it rears its head and exposes its soft under-belly. It is
the only part that is susceptible to second level magic. Note: It is best to
not charge and use rapid firing to get a little extra damage.
When trying to defeat Aragog,
do not attack the spider itself. Instead, run around the edges of the web
and burn the parts that are attached to various trees. When all of the edges
are lit, Aragog will "scream" and fall into a hole. You will be
standing on the edge, and the rocks around you will crumble and you will
also fall in. When you are in the hole, avoid the charges from the spider,
and the little spiders that come after you. When the spider rears up and
reveals its soft underside, cast Incendio (the flame spell) at the stomach.
This is the only vulnerable part of the spider to second year magic. When
the health bar is down, Ron will fly in with the car and save you. Note: Try
to rapid fire Incendio in the hole rather than charging. When battling in
the hole, hit the little spider sacks hanging to get Bertie Bott's Every
Flavor Beans.
While fighting it, you may
notice little sacks being dropped and suspended by webbing. Shoot them down
with Flapendo and collect health and Bean power ups from Hedwig.
Hint:
Defeating the Giant Spider: To defeat the Giant Spider in the Dark Forest, circle around him
and cast Rictosempra. He will not shoot any spider webs at you.
Hint:
Defeating Malfoy: After you get the Expelliarmus Charm and have to duel Malfoy, hit
him soft with Flipendo four or five times. When he sends Expelliarmus back
to you, Explliarmus back to him. He will be too busy to hit it back and will
lose a point. Note: This does not work all the time.
Hint:
Defeating the Washing Machine: Make sure you dodge it when it moves. When it opens its mouth,
keep Flipendoing it. Note: It only gets hurt when the door is open. Repeat
this and it will die down quickly.
Hint:
Defeating the Whomping Willow: When the Whomping Willow starts to pound into the ground, hide in
the corner where you entered its lair. The shock wave cannot reach you in
here, unless you stray too far from it. Should you get hit, you should have
refilled your potion Vile before you entered. Also, Hedwig will drop
Cauldron Cakes and Beans for your aid. Note: Rapid firing technique is
recommended. Lock on to the limbs after they finish pounding and fire a
quick shot, then wait to lock onto the Willow's Eye. Then, fire repeatedly
until it stops hurting him before running back to your hiding hole.
When battling the Whomping
Willow, Flippendo his hands when he punches them down, then run to where Ron
is located and Flippend near him. He will lose some of his life bar (bottom
right). Keep repeating this until he starts throwing rocks at you. Dodge
them by running left. Then, Flippendo his hand very quickly and Flippendo
the location near Ron. He should be defeated after that.
When fighting the Whomping
Willow, strike either hand with the Flipendo spell when you see the light on
his hand. He will start moving his hands around. When he does. strike the
eye in the center of the tree. Keep repeating this process and you will
defeat the Willow. Watch the bar in the top right corner that will tell you
the Willow's SP.
When you begin the fight with
the Whomping Willow and it has Ron, run back from the willow. Keep running
until you hit an invisible barrier. Keep running into the invisible barrier
when it tries to smash you, and it will miss. When it opens its eye, shoot
Flipendo at it and run back to the invisible barrier. This will keep you
from getting any damage. Note: When the Willow throws things, they can still
hit you. You must dodge them. This will work most of the time.
Hint:
Personal Requests and Notice Board: The Notice Board in the Gryffondor common room usually gives a
location, but higher up as you near completion they start to give vague
clues, such as "Could be anywhere on grounds". With personal
requests, they do not ever really give you a clue, except the first one.
However, the items are near the area in about a two acre search range.
Finding Lost Items When in doubt, check Hagrid's Hut. Many of the lost items end up
there.
3 Roots Needed Search the left side of Hagrid's Hut, by the Herbology Center. From
there, they all scatter (much like Neville's china set) behind Hagrid's
Hut towards the Forbidden Forest. The person that wants these will give
you the key to the Confiscated Items Room (six more cards and a bag to
hold 200 Bertie Bott's Every Flavored Beans).
Lost Badge Found on the Broom Flying Field, towards Hagrid's Hut and the Whomping
Willow (still inside the Flying Court).
Lost Newspaper Article Search the left side of Hagrid's Hut. Note: "Left" being if
you were looking from his front door towards the castle (the side next to
the Herbology Center).
Lost Wizards Hat Found in a small patch of trees towards the Quiddich Court.
Neville's Crockery Can be found close to the Flying Court and Hagrid's Hut. Up on a roof
will be a multitude of his china set. Go about a fifteen to twenty five
second flying trip from Neville (heading back).
Neville's Rememberall When you exit Hogwart's main entrance (in the courtyard), you should
see a tree standing by itself. Shoot it with the Flipendio spell and
return the Rememberall to Neville.
Potions Kit Bag The potions kit bag is in the Herbology Greenhouse #3, in the back
across from the Wiggenweld cauldron.
Secretive Dragon Scale
Gloves The elusive gloves are by the lake, but not on land. They can be found
just outside the Broom Flying lessons field, on the lakeside. You will
notice a long strip is down low. On the far end are five torches (light
with Incendio to get a Wizards Card), and in the middle somewhere should
be the gloves.
Telescope Located on the tower where you enter to go in the main entryway. It is
on the far left.
Book by Gildaroy Lockhart Fly on your Nimbus 2000 and go to the area just outside of the Flying
Court. Go to the place where you found the 200 Bertie Botts Every Flavor
Bean Bag. Do not go into the door only to get the bag and the 6 Wizard
Cards. Next, go outside of the bridge on the grass platform. It will be
there . After you get the book, go back up to the Griffendor tower (the
common room ) and return to the message board.
Hint:

bushes at the Burrows.
2. Get a score of 800 or more
points when de-noming the Weasley's garden.

driving the car (when you can replenish your health), go through a tunnel
to the right and get the card.

Hint:
Alohamora spell: When you have 80 Bertie Bot Every Flavored Beans, go to the
reading room where you buy things from Fred and George in the Griffindor
House. Percy will try to stop you. if you try to go during the day, Fred and
George will not be there, except on the last day of school. When you go in,
you have to go to the opposite side of the table. There will be a book. Go
up to it and Fred will say that it is 80 Bertie Botts. If you have enough,
he will say you can go mostly anywhere in Hogwarts. This spell will only
work on some doors and chests.
Hint:
Transformation spell: After you acquire the spell and return to the main room, use it
to get across the room on the other side of the gargoyle. You will need to
use the hardly visible ledges to cross. Hang off the wall ledge to escape
nearing ghosts, and push down the slabs to make a bridge. Once this is done,
you will have to fight the gargoyle. It is recommended that you get on the
right staircase, halfway up. Then, use the spell on the last stone and the
door will open.
Hint:
Forbidden Forest spiders: The spiders in the forest act as follows
Tiny Black: Show you the path
Big Green: Jumpers (jump, run away, and jump again)
Big Red: Flingers (they spit)
Big White: Flingers (spit paralyzing venom)
Big Multicolor: Possible Jumper/Flinger mix.
Hint:
Greenhouse: Wizards Card: After talking to Fred and George, go to the right of the
greenhouse and cast Alohomora the hedge separating it from the wall. Follow
the passage to a small courtyard. Cast Alohomora on the statues to get the
Card.
Hint:
Getting past Prefects: While trying to save Nevil on the night after the first day, you
need to get past Prefects in the entrance hall. After the Prefect in front
of you walks down the small stairway, cast Flipendo straight across. All of
the Prefects will go toward it, and stay for a few seconds. When this
happens, quickly run toward the door. Note: A few Prefects will come up the
stairs.
When in the Slythern common
room and the Prefects are looking for you. If catch you with the Leg Locker
Curse and are saying to get out and you start over, you do not lose House
Points.
When you are in the entrance
hall and have just come in and are following the Prefect, he will go across
the stairs and not down. When he goes across, go to the railing and Flipendo
near your hourglass. The two Prefects will go to the hourglass and you can
walk out the door.
While in the library annex, to
get past Prefects hide in the dark areas. Walk in the dark area to get past
them.
When sneaking around at night
(especially in the library), the first time you get caught a few House
Points will be deducted. More House Points will be deducted if you get
caught again. If you get caught after the second time, House Points will not
be deducted.
The Right Analog-stick
is very useful when you are sneaking to look to your sides. This especially
helps when trying to get books for Hermione, and when you turn into Goyle
and talk to Draco.
Hint:
Getting back to the castle easily: After you get the Diffindo spell book, run towards the castle and
intentionally get caught by a Prefect. The Prefect will take you to the
entrance of the castle, and you will not lose any House Points. Note: This
will only work on the way back. If done on the way to the greenhouse, the
same thing will happen, and you will have to start all over again.
Hint:
Secret area at Hagrid's hut: There is a type of "secret" crawl near Hagrid's hut.
Walk towards Hargrid's hut then move over towards the Herbology Center wall.
Behind some grass/bushes, there is a space to crawl in. You can climb up on
some stones, but it is dark.
Hint:
See Mrs. Hooch flinch: Go to the Flying Court and fly near Mrs. Hooch, the flying
teacher. Fly as close as you can to her. She will put her broom up in front
of her face and try to protect herself from you slamming into her.
Hint:
Moaning Myrtle's skeletal face: When you are in the girl's bathroom, walk through Moaning Myrtle
slowly. You will see her face turn into a skeleton. Note: This is difficult
to do.
Hint:
Hurt people: Walk up to anybody in Hogwarts. Throw a Flipendo at them and they
will say "Ow". Note: You can only use Flipendo, as all the other
spells do not have any effect.
Glitch:
Go inside a building: Go to an area that has about seven fire holders surrounded by
large walls:
Go to the roof on the left side
of the tower. Fly to it and hit it continuously. Eventually, near the tip of
the roof, you will go through. Sometimes you can stay inside the building;
other times you will go through the other side. When you land in the middle
of the building, you can fly around inside. The floor will be white with
some water. You cannot land, but can explore. It is very difficult to go
through the roof.
Glitch:
Get Percy out of your way: Note: This trick only works until you leave the room. Crawl under
the bookshelf or go through the portrait. When you first enter the room,
straight ahead of the door is a bookshelf with a crawl space underneath it.
Shoot a Flipendo at the middle of the bookshelf. Then, go to where Percy
will not see you. When he goes to the place, go up behind him and Flipendo
him. Back off after you Flipendo him a few times. He will then move forward.
Flipendo him again, and repeat. If done correctly, he will disappear behind
the wall, but will actually be stuck there. He will not be able to curse you
or move unless you leave the main reading room. This is difficult and
requires precise timing.
Glitch:
Harry's face in the back of his head: When you get the Nimbus 2000, get on it and fly directly to the
entrance door at full speed. Note: This may require a few attempts.
Glitch:
Ron repeats himself: On your second day, when you have Quidditch practice wait for
awhile. You will see Ron running to the Quidditch pitch. He will repeat what
he said earlier.
