Mode cheat: Collect 200 orbs during game play. When this cheat is activated,
start a new game to begin with all four morph guns attachments and an
alternate secrets list.
Note: There are quite a lot of
good things in Hero mode. Keep repeating a level with Metal Heads and you
will get a lot of Skull Gems. Also, collect 25, 30, and 35 Orbs and to
unlock Infinite Ammo, Infinite Dark Jak and Invulnerability at the start the
game.
In Hero mode, once you get the
"Invulnerability", "Unlimited Dark Jak", and
"Unlimited Ammo" cheats, the rest of the missions throughout the
remainder of the game are going to be easy. However, some will be
challenges, such as when you must destroy the tanker at the drill platform.
Alternate
scrap book: Collect 200 orbs in Hero Mode.
Hint:
Dead Town: Paralyze Metal Heads: This trick works in any mission in Dead Town. When you are on an
island, jump to the next one. An ambush of Metal Heads will pop up out of
the ground. Jump back to the other island. The Metal Heads will be
paralyzed. Take out your Blaster Gun and shoot away at the Metal Heads.
Hint:
Dead Town: Easy Precursor Orbs: After getting the Jet Board, use it to skim across the water to
the northeast side of Dead Town. There should be an opening under a ledge.
Go through the opening and follow the path inside it to find about ten orbs.
Hint:
Gun Course: Easy Precursor Orbs: For example, do the Blaster Gun Course. When you start, keep
doing the jump, spin, shoot combo by pressing X, Circle and R1
until the course is over. Note: This will also work with the Vulcan Fury.
However, it will not work with the Peace Maker. Just shoot at the enemies
and you will not hit the civilians. You must do the Scatter Gun the hard
way.
Hint:
Haven City: Steal Krimson Guard car: When you are in the Haven City and see a Krimson Guard Hell Cat
in the car, steal it. You can now use the weapon all the Hell Cats use by
pressing R1. Note: If you try to kill other Hell Cats with it, you
will find this weapon is not that powerful for destroying other cars.
Hint:
Haven City: Hit Krimson Guard without getting into trouble: When anywhere in Haven City, hit a guard in the back with a
Zoomer. Note: This also works with guard cruisers.
Hint:
Haven Forest: Samos still waiting: After completing the game, go to Haven Forest. Samos will still
be sitting by the tree that you had to defend him at.
Hint:
Haven Forest: Defeating Combat Metalheads: When you go to Haven Forest to kill the Combat Metalheads, they
have "active camouflage" that prevents you from seeing them.
However, you can see their Skull Gems floating in the air. Shoot at the
Skull Gems. It usually takes two or three shots to destroy them with any
gun. Try not to die, as when you resume the game so do the dead Metalheads,
who no longer have Skull Gems. You will not be able to find them anymore. If
this occurs, take out your Scatter Gun and shoot in the direction of the
enemy fire. You will usually hit them.
Hint:
Haven Forest: Easy Precursor Orbs: When you go to Haven Forest to kill Scout Metal Heads, look in
the water. there are about eight orbs in the water.
Hint:
Hip Hog Heaven: Lurker Shark on plaque: Go to Hip Hog Heaven (the bar place) and look on some of the
plaques. There will be a Lurker Shark on one of them.
Hint:
Hip Hog Heaven: Daxter in Whack-A-Metalhead game: In the Hip Hog Heaven, crouch and crawl under the
Whack-A-Metalhead game. Move around and Daxter's head will poke through the
holes.
Hint:
Hip Hog Heaven: Precursor Shark trophy: Go to Krew's Place saloon. Turn around and look towards the door
to see the Precursor Shark that annoyed you in the original Jak And
Daxter on a trophey rack.
Hint:
Get Seal Piece at Water Slums: Try getting on the jet-board and ride the docks. Be careful not
to fall off and avoid the Krimzon Guards. It is slightly tricky, but once
you get ahead of the guards coming down it is not so bad.
When you get ambushed after
getting the Seal Piece, turn evil and do a Dark Blast (Square + X)
into the water. Normally, a little thing pops up and kills you, but the Dark
Blast destroys it. You can then hop on your JETboard and cruise to the
finish, get back on the docks, then run to the beam of light to successfully
survive. If you somehow die on the way there, just quit the game and reload
it from the main menu. You will start back at the beginning, and be able to
turn go into dark mode again.
As soon as the intermission
sequence ends, run forward until Krimson Guards start dropping out of their
dropship. Hang off the right ledge until the dropship disappears and the
guards are in a tight group directly above you. They will be trying to
either hit you with their guns or electrocute you. However, they cannot hit
you. Hold Analog-stick Up and start tapping X. When the group
of guards thins out a little, Jak will climb up. Just melee all the guards
twice. Most, though will fall off the edge. If a guard stands up on the very
edge, on top of a pylon, or exactly in the crack between two boards of wood,
he will die slowly as if you had just hit him with the Vulcan Gun. Keep
doing this repeatedly all the way to the Oracle's building. Once you get
there, you will have to do it the hard way, as you will have guards shooting
at you from all directions. Either run straight into everything and keep
doing the Square + X attack until everything is dead, or just
hang back slightly and blast away with the Vulcan Fury. The Square + X
attack will dodge all the shots that the dropships fire, unless you are
directly underneath them. You can also just run through everything with Square
+ X without trying to kill anything. Note: If you hang off a ledge
with another ledge perpendicular or parallel to it and a guard is there, he
will shoot you and you will fall and die. Also, if you hang on the edge for
long enough, all the guards will walk away and disappear from your map. This
counts as killing them, although the dropship will come back and put more
in. However, due to the complexity of programming, each dropship will come
back no more than twelve times. This method is extremely slow and boring,
but works. You may still die a few times, as Jak will not always hang off
the ledge; he will sometimes just fall and be shot by the Jak-Killer. Make
sure that you try to always hang off a wide board, and not a space or a thin
one. Even so, this is not guaranteed. Just keep trying.
Hint:
Get The Heart Of Mar In Weapons Lab mission: Easy battle: When the first swarm of Krimson Guard balls appears, hop down to
the ledge where the switch is located. The balls cannot roll down to you.
Equip the Blaster gun and keep shooting at the top of your jumps. They will
die and explode if you hit them enough, and you will not reduce any damage.
Hint:
Protect Site In Dead Town mission: Easy battle: When you get up to the first ledge with the wooden stairs, equip
your Blaster gun and kill the Metal Heads. Once you have killed them, look
to your right and your left. There will be three Metal Heads that throw Dark
Eco balls at you (two on your right and one on your left). Shoot them. They
will throw the balls but they cannot reach you. Note: Also kill the regular
Metal Head on your left.
Hint:
Torn mission 2: Shortcut: On the second long jump, when you are on top of the sewage thing,
jump to the left. If you keep going straight once you hit land, there will
be stairs taking you to a new part of the mission. Go up the stairs. This
skips about one half of the mission.
Hint:
Skip the drilling platform mission: When you have the drilling platform and the cargo destruction
missions, do the one for Torn and destroy all the cargo. After this is done
successfully, talk to Torn again and do that mission. After it is done,
check your missions guide. The mission "Destroy machines at drill
platform" should be gone, not appear again.
Hint:
Underport: Finding Sig: After you win the Metal Head Mash game, you will get a mission
where you have to find Sig in the Underport. You will go underwater with the
Titan Suit. There are pads on the ground with bubbles and light coming out.
This refills an air meter in the Titan Suit, which goes down slowly. In some
rooms there are metal headed octopuses that latch on to the Titan Suit and
take away a big chunk of health. These can be avoided by moving; once they
latch on, it is difficult to get them off. At one point, you will come out
of the water then go back in. After a few rooms, there is one where you walk
into and the next room entrance is to the left. That room is the last room
underwater. You can then get out of the Titan Suit and you will see Sig.
Hint:
Destroy Cargo In The Port mission: An easy way to complete the mission where you destroy the cargo
in the port, is to steal a Krimzon Guard Hell Cat or car. You can use the
blaster to shoot through the mines and the cargo.
Note: You do not have to use
the jet board. You can also use a Zoomer instead.
Hint:
Stealing a police car: In the place where you get the jetboard, take a police car. The
alarms will go off. Take it in a tunnel where water is at the same place.
The police will crowd up. Sneak up behind all the police, hide under a
bridge, and the alarms will turn off. You now have a car that already has
guns. If you try to do this in another place, it will be difficult; you will
have to find a place where no one will shoot you and find a way to sneak
out.
Hint:
Stealing a Hellcat: Hijack a Hellcat and find a good hiding place. The guards should
now be chasing you. Park it directly outside the hiding place and hide there
until the guards go away. Then, go out and claim your prize.
Hint:
Stealing hovercars: Look on the city map. If you see a white circle, it is a parked
hovercar. To take it over, press Triangle.
Hint:
Surviving ambush when getting the seal piece: When you are at the part when you have to get the seal piece and
get ambushed by Krimson Guards, get on your JETboard by pressing R2.
Ride along the platform and do not fall in the water or you will be killed,
just hover down the path. When you get to the part where the camera changes
so you cannot see where you are going, change back quickly so you can see
then jump up and do a spin trick (X + R1 + Left or Right)
to hit the guards when needed. Be careful or the spin trick will end with
you in the water where you will be killed. This may require a few attempts.
Hint:
Collecting money for Krew: The most difficult part of the mission is not getting your bike
blown up. You will have to go through the mission a few times trying to
learn where all the money bags are located. This is not too difficult if you
slow down a bit when you collect one and look for the next one on your
mini-map. The easiest way to get through the mission is to stay low and run
over the Krimson Guards whenever possible so that they do not shoot at you
when you are passing by. Also, plan an switching vehicles at least once.
Although it is possible to make it through in one vehicle, it is very
difficult to do so. Practice switching vehicles in mid-air. This technique
will help you avoid losing the time needed to get to the next money bag.
Hint:
Shortcut: When you have to collect the piece of the seal from the slums (in
the mission you get from the Lurker) and are ambushed by the Krimson Guards,
run to the edge just by a corner near the guards. Use a roll jump to jump
the gap and avoid the guards and gun turrets. If you are fast, you can get
through without a single hit, though this may require a few attempts.
Hint:
Fun Krimson Guard kills: Stand in the stadium where the vehicles cannot go and shoot a
guard. It will suddenly attract many guards to you. However, they can only
go through about two at a time; you can sit there forever just killing
Krimson Guards.
Hint:
Avoiding Krimson Guards: When on foot in the city and being chased by guards, get out of
sight and press the Left Analog-stick towards a wall. You will get
stealthy until the panic is over.
When you are being chased by
the Krimson Guard, go to the highway thing near Onin's tent. Stay there
until the alarm shuts off. Only the Hell Cats and Zoomers can get up there
easily, so you can take them down easier.
If you are being chased by the
Krimson Guard, go to the area where the weapons training place and Krew is
located. Get into a vehicle (not controlled by the Krimson Guard) and fly on
top of the water. Go close to the edge, where there should be a sort of
wall. You must be in high mode to get up and stay close to the wall until
the alert is over.
When you are being chased by
the Krimson Guard, quickly go to the water area and go under a house. When
the map in the corner stops blinking red and the chase music stops, you are
safe and they will no longer be chasing you.
Steal a hovercar and when you
see a guard, change to low hover levels. Go fast, and before you hit them,
get off quickly. It will smack them without them knowing it was you.
Hint:
Krimson Guard revenge: After you defeat Krew, go back to his place. Win the Wack the
Metal Head game. Metal Heads will be loose, and the Krimson Guards will be
chasing only them. You can now kill the Krimson Guards without them going
after you.
Get into red alert at any time.
Take out your Vulcan Fury, kick a guard, and shoot with the Vulcan Fury.
Hold Shoot and the guard will suffer.
Hint:
Tick off Krimson Guards: When you are in Haven City, jump on a Krimzon Guard's head by
pressing X(2). Do not press Circle or Square or the
alarm will go off. When you are on the guard's head, he will try to swat you
with his gun.
Note: When you jump (press X)
on a Krimzon Guard's head, jump on the back. If you jump on the front, he
will swat at you and take one health bar off.
Hint:
Drive Krimson Guard vehicle without getting in red alert: Borrow a Krimson Guard vehicle and get in "red alert".
Put the vehicle in a location that you will remember (such as close to where
you are hiding). Then, hide (try going under a bridge or go in stealth mode.
When the "red alert" is over, go to where you parked the vehicle
and jump in. There will be no red alert.
Hint:
Destroy five Hellcat Cruisers without getting in red alert: Grab a Zoomer and crash it into the wall until the engine starts
to catch on fire and smoke. Drive over to the nearest Hellcat Cruiser
without running into any Krimzon Guards. When you get near it, go into the
high hover zone as fast as possible. Just before you hit the Cruiser, jump
out of the Zoomer and the Hellcat will explode.
In the "Destroy Five
Hellcat Cruisers" mission or the "Free Three Lurkers"
mission, get one of the twin-hulled hover crafts. Get underneath the
Transport of the Hellcat and press R2 (default) to go straight up and
hit them. Press R2 again to go back down, then do it again. Keep at
it until it is destroyed. Even after you destroy the vehicle, it will not
cause a Red Alert. Note: If you go down and hit a Guard, it will cause an
alert.
Alternately, smash smaller
vehicles into the Cruiser until the small vehicle explodes. Make sure that
you are either far away or have at least three bars of health remaining, as
the explosion will also destroy your ship and cause you to lose two bars of
health, as will the above strategy.
Hint:
Defeating the Baron: When fighting the Baron for the first time, he will be in a
shielded ship attacking you. At first he will fire in straight lines at you.
Dodge these. After three shots, his shield will break. Shoot him with your
Blaster. Repeat until one third of his health is gone, then get out of the
way as he charges to the next area. Follow him and reload with the ammo in
nearby crates. This time he will fire missiles at you, which follow where
you run. Keep running to avoid these. After two missile attacks, fire at
him. Repeat until another one third of his health is gone. Then, follow him
to the last area. His shield is now gone; fire when you can. He will send
fiery tornadoes at you. Shoot him until he runs away.
When fighting the Baron in
Mar's Tomb, pull out the Scatter gun and shoot the mech spiders that he
sends at you. When all of them are gone, he will fire bombs at you. Knock
them back at him with a spin attack. Aim carefully to hit him. Four bombs
will take one third of his health away. He will send more spiders at you.
Hide behind the pillars to avoid being shot by the Baron. Knock four more
bombs his way. He will get the Precursor Stone. Again, stay behind the
pillars to avoid him. He will take out sections of the walkway and shoot
only two bombs. If you can turn into Dark Jak, do so and use a Dark Bomb to
finish him. Otherwise, knock the bombs into him. However aiming will be much
harder now; act fast and the battle will be yours.
Note: When you defeat Baron
Praxis (in the Tomb of Mar) and leave Mar's tomb, you will start to see
yellow Krimson Guards. The only difference is that they take more hits to
kill.
Use the following trick to
defeat the Baron in hero mode. Once you have unlocked then
"Invulnerability" and Unlimited Dark Jak" cheats in hero
mode, it will be easier to kill the Baron in the palace. In the first turn
you face the Baron, turn into Dark Jak and do one of his moves. The second
time, when his meter is in the middle, turn into Dark Jak and do one of his
moves again. Continue to deplete his last meter. In the last part you cannot
use Dark Bomb because it will not reach the Baron's machine. Instead, use
Dark Blast to kill the Baron.
Hint:
Defeating fortress guards: Immediately after you defeat the Baron at Mar's tomb, your next
mission is to rescue your friends at the Fortress. Once you enter, break the
boxes to your left and load up on ammunition. Once you go up the stairs and
down the hall to your right, if you immediately go to the left you will be
swarmed by Crimson Guards. The following is an easier way to kill them all
and get past without losing much health. Once you are in that hall, get on
your Jet-board and quickly zip through the pathway, without falling into the
pits. If you navigate carefully enough, you should not be shot at. There are
a group of Guards at the end. Immediately get off, and start punching and
spin-kicking hard (recommended), or just use your Scatter Gun to kill them.
The Hover-Guards will follow you into the room. Take out your Blaster and
fire until the three or four of them are gone. If there are any more Guards
on the pathway, they will also follow you. Do whatever is needed to take
care of them. Just go out, and there will be three yellow Guards on the
round columns with the buttons. Eliminate them with your Blaster.
Hint:
Defeating the three Blast Bots: When Samos sends you to destroy the three Krimson Blast Bots, get
a Zoomer Bike (the ones that are very fast). Go to a Blast Bot. When you see
one, change to the high hover zone. When you are directly in front of it,
press Triangle. The bike should crash into the Blast Bot and explode.
Then, take out your Vulcan Fury and get directly behind it so it cannot hit
you. Do not touch it. Shoot it until you hear a beeping noise. When you do,
run away as fast as possible. The Blast Bot will explode. Repeat this with
the remaining ones. If you run out of ammunition, use the blaster.
Hint:
Defeating Krew: When you first start, kill all of the "clones" of Krew
(they only do 1 damage). First, go around in a circle about three times then
turn around and shoot them. If they get too close, keep going around. After
you kill all the clones, Krew he will come after you on his flying chair and
try to shoot you. Take out your Peace Maker and charge a shot up. When he
comes around, shoot him a couple of times with the Peace Maker. He will go
off in the distance. Repeat this as many times as needed to defeat Krew.
Note: After you shoot Krew with the Peace Maker, get ammo out of the boxes.
Destroy the clones with the
Scatter Shotgun then equip the Vulcan Fury. Shoot Krew rapidly and his
firing will slow down dramatically. Then, quickly equip the Peace Maker,
charge it, and shoot three times. Repeat this twice to defeat Krew. If you
need ammunition, K.G crates are present.
When battling Krew in the
weapon lab, stay in the elevator doorway. Shoot all of the clones with the
Scatter Gun. When there is only one remaining, run around and collect all of
the ammunition. Then, shoot the last clone. Next, take out your Blaster Gun
and shoot the real Krew. About five hits are required to take down one third
of his health. After doing that. he will go out of your gun range. Run back
to the elevator door and take out your Scatter Gun to shoot the clones. When
there is only one remaining, run around and collect all the ammunition.
Then, shoot the last clone. Next, take out your Blaster Gun and shoot Krew
until he has only one bar of health remaining. Then, run to the elevator
door and shoot the clones with the Scatter Gun again. Next, take out the
Peace Maker, charge it up, then shoot Krew. It takes about two or three
shots to kill him.
Hint:
Defeating Metal Heads: If there are more than one Metal Heads or enemies, double jump
and kick in the air. Then, shoot to send out a number of shots. Note: This
only works with the gun with the laser pointer in front..
Hint:
Defeating Metal Kor: Begin by taking out your blaster and kill all the enemies. Then,
shoot him repeatedly until more Metal Heads appear. Repeat this as many
times as needed until he gets in the red. When he gets in the red, he will
jump off the string things and will be on the ground. Avoid him until he
shoots three lasers at you. He should now be on the other side of you. Take
out the Peace Maker and shoot him. Repeat this as many times needed to
defeat the Metal Head leader and complete the game.
When the battle starts, take
out your Vulcan gun and fire at the Leader until he charges a shot. Get out
of the way. Switch to your Blaster and run around the area, firing at the
Leader occasionally. Take out the bugs if they get too close; otherwise stay
away from them. When you get to phase two (one third of his health is gone),
continue firing at him until the flying Metal Heads approach you. If you
have enough Eco, turn into Dark Jak. Take some of the lesser enemies then do
a Dark Blast close to the Leader (takes about half a health bar). Repeat the
earlier process until the Leader starts running around. Continue running
until his blasts are coming from the side instead of behind. Turn and blast
him. Repeat to win.
When you are battling Metal Kor
at the end of the game, collect all the ammunition needed. If there is not
enough, keep jumping through the hole in the middle of the room. Behind you
is a ledge to the very left of the cliff. It may be difficult to get on, but
when you get to the top face Metal Kor with the Blaster weapon. Keep
shooting him until his health bar is in the yellow. He will then send out
flying Metalheads. They will not hurt you. Keep shooting them until you get
his health bar to the red and he will break out and fly on his own. Wait
until you have enough room to shoot him. He will keep coming up and it will
appear as if he is biting the cliff. Do not go to the edge of the cliff or
he will be able to shoot you with blasts of Dark Eco. Keep shooting him
until he dies.
Use the following trick to
easily kill the Metal Heads when fighting Metal Kor. When you get Metal Kor
(Metal Head leader) to yellow health, little flying Metal Heads appear and
fight until you get Kor's health in the red. When a little crawling Metal
Head comes to attack, punch the crawler. Then, do the spin shot with the
Blaster to hit it.
Before attempting this, make
sure you have all ammunition for the Vulcan Fury, Peace Maker, and Scatter
Gun. Also, have the Dark Giant ability. At the start of the fight, pull out
the Scatter Gun and shoot the eggs Kor lays. Next, switch to the Blaster and
shoot Kor. When he lays more eggs, keep shooting them then turn your
attention back to Kor. When he sends out the flying Metal Heads, use the
Peace Maker to do damage to them when they are close to Kor. Also shoot Kor
with it. if you run out of ammunition, switch to the Vulcan and continue
shooting. When Kor starts walking around chasing you, turn into the Dark
Giant and use punching and kicking attacks to fight him. Kor may run; be
ready for a chase. If you run out of Dark Eco, use your remaining ammunition
to finish him off.
Before you fight Metal Kor, you
will see a scene where Jak becomes Dark Jak at the end. To remain like that
during the fight, hold R1. You will remain as Dark Jak for a limited
amount of time.
Take as long as you want to
fill up on Dark Eco and Blaster ammunition. When you are full on both, kill
yourself and start over. Once you have restarted, begin by taking out your
Blaster and shooting him until his eggs hatch. Then, shoot the little
scorpion things. Dodge his blasts and when the little things are dead, shoot
him until his first bar of health is gone. Then, shoot him until the flying
Metal Heads appear. While dodging his blasts, shoot them and the little
things. When there are not many remaining, shoot Metal Kor until he jumps
down. Then, shoot him about ten times. Next, turn into Dark Jak and use a
Dark Bomb. This will take a lot of his health away, but he will release his
own Dark Blast while you are turning into normal Jak. However, it will not
hurt you. Then, just shoot him with your Blaster until he dies.
Hint:
Easy kills: Once you get your second weapon, do the following trick. Jump in
the air, and when in mid-air perform a spin kick. Fire the second weapon
while doing the spin kick.
Hint:
Winning Onin's Shape Game easily: Just as soon as Onin throws a combination of shapes, (circle,
square, x, triangle), quickly pause game play. Then, take as long as desired
to memorize the shapes. This will also work with all games that require you
to hit multiple buttons.
Hint:
More ammunition: To get more ammo for any of your guns without getting caught, do
the following. Make sure you are in a place where there are Krimzon Guards
(for example, Haven City). Steal a zoomer from anyone. Accelerate (press X)
at a Krimzon Guard, and when it is about to hit him, get off (press Triangle).
Keep on doing this about four to five times to get ammo.
To refill your ammo at any time
during gameplay, go to Haven City and go to the Gun Course. It is in the
Port; look for a Zoomer parked outside a door. Go inside to the first room
where there are several Krimzon Guard Crates. Smash them to find an
assortment of ammo. You rarely (if at all) will find Peace Maker ammo. If
you do not max out your ammo in one shot. Go outside, go to the Hip Hog
Saloon, return to the Gun Course, and the Krimzon Guard Crates should have
regenerated.
To get any kind of ammunition,
make sure all your other guns are fully loaded. Then, go to the Gun Course.
Break all the Krimzon Guard crates to get the type of ammunition the kind
that you need.
Punch or hit a guard to start
the Red Alert. Punch or hit the guards and collect the ammunition they leave
behind.
Use the following trick to you
to gain ammunition for all four guns without killing the Krimzon Guards.
Complete the game and go to the Port area (with Daxter's bar and the huge
lake). Go to Daxter's place. Put your back to it and turn left. Keep walking
along this path until you see a set of doors. Some type of Zoomer usually
will be parked here. Go inside to find orange boxes. Destroy them to get
ammunition. Leave and the boxes will respawn. This allows you to easily gain
ammunition without setting off the alarm.
If you do not have any
ammunition for the Peace Maker and all your other ammunition is full, just
kill the guards without using the Blaster or Scatter Gun. You will fill up
on ammunition very quickly.
Set off the alarms near the
stadium and run into the alley where you meet Kiara in the game. Notice that
the doors to the openings to the garage are hanging out. Crouch behind the
bottom door of the opening nearest to the secret curtain. The guards will
see you and try to electrocute you through the doors, obviously failing. Use
the gun of your choice to kill the guards that pile up there. When you
notice that you have a critical ammo level, switch to the blaster to arm
yourself then venture out to collect ammunition. Return to your hiding spot.
When you have full ammunition for all guns, venture out of the alley, hijack
a Zoomer (hopefully a Krimson motorcycle cruiser), and ride on the ground to
a hiding location.
Hint:
Peace Maker: After you escort the three men down in the sewer, there will be a
icon on your radar. It will take you to the Gun course. There will be a
light shining on a box. Open it to find a gun. You will see an intermission
sequence featuring Jak putting the front of the Peace Maker on a gun. Then,
Daxter will say "Finally, our own Peace Maker," and you will have
the Peace Maker. Note: It only has ten shots.
Note: When you have obtained
the Peace Maker, you can charge it and the Krimson Guards will immediately
start chasing you.
Hint:
Multiple Peace Makers: When you are in the gun course with the Peace Maker, charge it
and hold. Then, enter a course other than the Peace Maker course while
charging. When you enter, that gun will have a Peace Maker on it.
Hint:
Charge the Peace Maker while still in stealth mode: Charge the Peace Maker (R1) and the cops will start
chasing you. Keep holding R1 and move the Left-Analog stick
Forward against a nearby wall. Eventually, Jak should put his back
against the wall. This is stealth mode, and if you kept R1 held, Jak
should be against the wall still charging his gun. Release R1 to
shoot, and Jak will put his gun away enter normal stealth mode.
Hint:
Get ammunition without gun: When you are sent to turn the water back on, go to the big pipe
with the Precursor Orb in it. Jump on top of it, then fall off. Swim along
the wall to your left until you see land. Swim ashore. When you break open
the Krimson Guard crates, some of them will have Scatter Gun ammunition in
side. You can also get some Metal Head Skull Gems.
Hint:
Dark surfboard: This trick requires Infinite Dark Jak and Dark Giant. Morph to
Dark Jak and jump on top of a Hellcat and do a Dark Bomb. If done correctly,
you should be riding the Hellcat across the street.
Hint:
Unlimited Skullgems: After you have collected 200 Precursor Orbs, you can start a new
game in hero mode. In hero mode, you can get unlimited Skullgems from Metal
Heads. Kill the Metal Heads, take their Skullgems, and after you die or
exit, re-enter the level and meet the same Metal Heads again. They will give
you another Skullges. You can easily collect all the Skullgems needed to
give to the Oracle for the new Dark Jak skills. Then, kill yourself and
repeat.
Hint:
Easy Precursor Orbs: Note: The following trick can only be done with the JETBoard. To
get more orbs, go to Dead Town (where the Slums live). Then get on your
JETBoard (R2) and go northeast. You will find a room full of water
and some steps. In order to get to the room and up the steps, do a trick on
your JETBoard (X + L1 + Left Analog-stick). You will
find six Precursor Orbs.
When you first use the
JETBoard, try to get the "Gold" high score. It will reward you
with 9 Precursor Orbs. If you get the "Silver" high score, it will
reward you with 6 Precursor Orbs. If you get the "Bronze" high
score, it will reward you with 3 Precursor Orbs.
Once you have the JETBoard, go
to the level where you find the gear, the lens, and the fragment. Go through
the warp gate to the top, get the ammunition if necessary, then shoot the
platform on the right and down the lift. Once you are down, go straight on
to the circular room. Go right and you will be in a passage with lots of
Metal Heads. This is a very good opportunity to get Skull Gems. Keep going
until you see the crates which you have to push along to get across the Dark
Eco. Instead of going across, get on your JETBoard and go right a short
distance, then back. You should reach a sort of cove, where you can find
about ten Precursor Orbs as you go along the passage.
Hint:
Precursor Orb locations: There are a total of 286 orbs in the game.
Escape From Fortress:8 orbs
total.
Pumping Station:7 orbs total.
Strip Mine:7 orbs total.
Drill Platform:5 orbs total.
Mountain Temple:17 orbs total.
Palace Rooftop:4 orbs total.
Haven Forest:9 orbs total.
Sewers:1 orb total.
The Dig:8 orbs total.
Mars's Tomb:5 orbs total.
Dead Town:8 orbs total.
Weapons Lab:5 orbs total.
(Mission) Titan Suit In Water:1 orbs total.
Construction Area (when you find out Kor's identity).:2 orbs total.
Metal Head Nest:7 orbs total.
Side Missions:72 orbs total.
Nyfe Races:72 orbs total.
Jet Boarding at Stadium:9 orbs total.
Gun Courses:36 orbs total.
Onin's Game (after completing the game), get over 1m000 points:3 orbs
total.
Hint:
Daxter holds any gun: If Jak has equipped any gun (for example, The Blaster), steal a
car with the gun still equipped. You will see that Jak has given the gun to
Daxter. And if you fire the gun, Daxter will shoot. Or, if you are in a car
and equip a gun (for example, The Blaster), Daxter is holding it. if you
fire the gun, Daxter will shoot.
Hint:
Destroying Bomb Boxes: When doing a mission for Torn where you have to destroy Bomb
Boxes (the robot spiders that shoot electricity), get directly behind one
and start shooting. The lasers will not hit you, but instead will hit the
guards that are chasing you. When the Bomb Box starts beeping, run quickly
away to avoid getting hurt.
Hint:
Bouncing blocks: Play the level with the first Titan suit. When you get the Life
Seed you can go back into the Titan suit afterwards. Pick up a throwable
block, walk up to Samos' house, and throw the block at it. The block will
bounce back and you will catch it.
Hint:
Faster time in stadium mission: When the mission where Jak has to race across the city to the
stadium becomes available, complete all other missions until it is the only
mission remaining. You can now receive a faster time by going from Krew's
place north into the square and through the area with the water. Follow the
map to reach the stadium in time with ease.
Hint:
Winning the Class 1 race: When you get on your race car, there will be an intermission
sequence that shows Erol pulling in next to you, and Baron Praxis will
announce if someone manages to the grand champion they will get a year
supply of Eco and a ticket to get in his palace. When you start the race,
there will be a short cut at the beginning on the right-hand side. Try to
keep your first place lead. Near the finish line there will be a very brief
shortcut tat puts you somewhat farther ahead. Repeat this three times and
use the shortcuts to win the Class 1 race.
At the first class championship
race (where Jak and Kiera make up), when you start look to your right. There
will be a blue tunnel. Go down the tunnel and you will be ahead of the other
racers.
Hint:
Winning the Class 2 race: The jet bike will jump if you press L1. When the race
starts hold back a little and collect the left side boost icon left by the
pack. Use a Jump and Boost combo to clear the cannon and cut out a hard
U-turn. You will see light across the cannon where you jump. This should
have you in front of the pack. Remain there by taking this shortcut in all
five laps.
Hint:
Winning the Class 3 race: On the level that Keira gives you (where you need to win the
third class race), at the beginning of the race try to get a turbo charge
(the purple ball). When you enter the tunnel, you will see red lights. On the
other side there is the track. If you use the turbo charge (Circle)
and jump (R1) at the correct time, you can reach the other side.
Hint:
Sharp turn on racing cruiser: Note: This trick only works on the Zoomer for the class races, or
when you race Erol around the city. Sometimes you are racing and you cannot
turn in time, you will crash into the wall in front of you. Use this trick
to prevent that from happening. As you are coming up to a sharp curve, turn
your Zoomer in the general direction, and continuously tap either of the
jump buttons (L1 or R1). This will make you turn sharply to
whichever direction you leaned in. Note: If you tap too much, you may end up
turning around and going backwards.
Hint:
Reaching the race garage: One trick to make it in time to the race garage is to cross the
water as soon as you come out of Krew's place. Get on the hover craft and
make a sort of a slanted line across the water. Follow the map when you pass
the green wall and you will have at least 30 seconds remaining.
Hint:
Swim faster: To make Jak swim faster, keep tapping the Analog-stick in
the direction you want to go.
Hint:
Flip on the water: Use the jet board on the water. Press X + R1 to do
a flip then quickly hold L1.
Hint:
Survive large falls: Press Circle to kick just before hitting the ground from a
large fall.
Hint:
Hover on water and Dark Eco with JETBoard: When keep the JETBoard, you can use it to hover on water and Dark
Eco. This can be very useful when you want to go faster on water if you do
not have a Zoomer, or if you have to cross some Dark Eco lakes.
Hint:
JETBoard grinds: You have the ability to do different grinds based on how many
degrees you rotated during a jump. When you are about to grind on a rail, do
a high jump (L1 + X) and rotate (R1) a certain amount
before grinding (Square). For example, if you rotate halfway and do a
grind, Jak will do a boardslide.
Hint:
Blaster combo: When you have the Blaster rifle and have it equipped, use the
punch attack (Square) on an enemy, then quickly shoot (R1).
Jak will knock the enemy in the air and finish it with a strong rapid fire.
Hint:
Spinning rapidfire blaster combo: When you have the Blaster rifle and have it equipped, jump (X)
then when in the air, spin (Circle) and fire (R1) while
spinning in the air. Jak will start shooting rapidly while spinning. Use
this to easily kill a group of enemies when surrounded.
Hint:
Big jumps: Instead of holding L1 then pressing X to do a big
jump, press X(2), Circle, jump twice, then spin kick.
Hint:
Hover Board Challenge controls:
Nose Flip: Press X, Up,
L1.
Method: Press X, Down, L1.
Kick Flip: Press X, Left, L1.
Board Spin: Press X, Right, L1.
Front Flip: Press X, Up, R1.
Back Flip: Press X, Down, R1.
Clockwise Spin: Press X, Right, R1.
Counter Clockwise Spin: Press X, Left, R1.
Need Name 1: Press X, Left, L1, R1.
Need Name 2: Press X, Right, L1, R1.
Super Man: Press X, Up, L1 (requires high altitude).
Hint:
Jet Board attacks: When you have the Jet-Board, you can attack with it by holding R1
and pressing X. Note: You can do this on guards and zoomers. This may
require a few attempts.
Hint:
Blender: Go to an area where there are no Krimzon Guards (such as the
mountain area). Waste the ammunition for all your guns. Pull out the Vulcan
Fury again by pressing Left, then hold R1. The Vulcan Fury
will rotate, but since it has no ammo, nothing will fire. Instead, you will
hear only the mechanics of the gun, which sound similar to a blender.
Hint:
Destroy produce stands: Notice the produce stands scattered about the area of Haven City
where Onin is located. You can wreck them. Punch, spin, shoot, or hover over
the boxes and vases. They will break and the produce will scatter
everywhere.
Hint:
Breaking the drill: You have to grind on the poles to break the drill.
Hint:
Dark Bomber in mid-air: Turn into large Dark Jak and jump on one of the Hellcat Cruisers.
You can do the Dark Bomber in mid-air by pressing X to jump, then Square
to execute.
Hint:
Gun challenges: It is more effective to use a combination of physical attacks as
well as gunplay when attempting any gun challenge. To accomplish this, fire
at your target, kick or punch a different target, then fire again. This
allows Jak to attack a target from any angle without waiting to target
enemies that appear at odd angles. Also, when targets are sparse, conserve
ammunition by using a physical attack to clear the single targets.
Hint:
Shoot people down below while in the air: Take a single-seat Zoomer (they resemble motorcycles) and press R2
to go in the air. Take out any of your guns using the D-pad. Tilt the
Analog stick forward all the way and press R1 to shoot. If
done correctly, you will see your bullets hitting the ground instead of
going up in the air. If you accelerate by holding X and shoot while
pressing or holding (depending on the type of gun) R1, you will be
able to shoot to the ground while in motion. This is useful when you are
being chased and need to take out the Guards on the ground.
Hint:
Time Map and Heart of Mar sighting: When you start a new game, look at the opening sequence in
Sandover Villlage. Pause the sequence and you will see the Time Map and
Heart Of Mar Gem in the Rift Rider.
Hint:
Baron Praxis comments: After you complete the game, go to a radio structure where
announcements are said. If you wait, you will hear Baron say things like
" Victory is ours!" and "It's hard ruling a city, you
know."
Hint:
Daxter breakdancing: Stop on foot if you are not being chased and allow the game to
idle. Sooner or later, Daxter will do all sorts of things, including
breakdancing.
Hint:
Jak and Daxter racing posters: After winning the Class 1 races, there will be posters with Jak
and Daxter on them all around the stadium entrance.
Hint:
Daxter picture: When you complete the game, there will be a intermission sequence
where Metal Kor's head is in the Hip Hog Saloon, above the bar. When you go
back to it after the sequence, a big picture of Daxter will be there in its
place.
Hint:
Daxter with horns: Before you complete the game, look on the top of the Hip Hog
Saloon to see a lurker fish. After you complete the game, it will be
replaced by a giant Daxter with devil's horns.
Hint: Jak
And Daxter references: Where "Deadtown" is located used to be "Sandover
Village" in Jak and Daxter. Where the "Pump Station"
is located used to be "The Forbidden Jungle" in Jak and Daxter.
The "Dig Site" used to be the island where Daxter fell into the
Dark Eco and turned fuzzy in Jak and Daxter.
Hint: Ratchet
And Clank: Going Commando reference: In Haven City, go to the giant garden that has giant flowers and
a water cannon shooting water on them. It is near the entrance of Haven
Forest and the Mountain. From here, go to the City (not to the stadium area
that is nearby). Go past few small bridges, then you should face a big
building. On its wall, you should see a picture of Ratchet and Clank (the
main characters of Insomniac games' Ratchet and Clank). Ratchet is
wearing his green commando suit from in Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando.
Glitch:
Frozen Spider: Play the mission where you run away for the giant spider in hero
mode. Turn invincible and it will freeze since it cannot kill you.
Glitch:
Slow motion: After you learn the Dark Bomb and Giant Dark Jak techniques, do
something to get the guards to chase after you. Turn into Dark Jak and keep
killing people until the guards send out the heavily armed vehicles (not the
single seat guard Zoomer). Then, turn into Giant Dark Jak (press L2
again when in Dark Jak mode) and do a double jump so that you land on top of
the vehicle. Press Square before hitting the top of the vehicle and
you will be performing your Dark Bomb on top of the vehicle. Where you
position your Dark Bomb will determine how long you "surf" on top
of the demolished vehicle. Notice that when you are doing this, the game
will drop to a very slow pace. Also, the game can freeze or you can die
(even with invulnerability turned on). Only try this when you do not want to
advance farther in the game.
Glitch
Dark Jak does not raise alarm: Transform somewhere outside of the city, such as Dead City or the
pumping station near the entrance. Then, go to the main city and run around.
Notice that there are no Krimson Guards chasing you.
Go back in Baron Praxis' palace
after escaping from it. Make sure the door completely shuts behind you. When
it is completely closed, become Dark Jak. Leave through this door. If done
correctly, the guards will not chase you unless you knock down or kill
someone.
Note: You must have the full
Dark Jak Eco for this to work. Go to any place where there are Krimzon
Guards (for example, the industrial place between the Slums and South City).
Then, press L2 very lightly. Jak will transform into Dark Jak and
will change back to Jak. Although this makes people run away, this does not
alert the Krimzon Guards. Note: Do not do this in front of the Krimzon
Guards -- the Red Alert will come on.
Glitch:
Dark Jak holding Peace Maker: Charge the Peace Maker and enter stealth mode with it. .Then,
turn into Dark Jak. If possible, try turning into giant after you turn into
regular form. You will then see Dark Jak holding a gun. Do not jump or use a
Dark Power, or Jak will put the gun away. Note: You cannot hold any other
gun except the Peace Maker.
Glitch:
Unlimited Dark Jak: Go to any mission and hang off a ledge. Start pressing R2
as fast as possible. Eventually after quite a while, your Dark Jak meter
will fill up instantly and you will be Dark Jak until you use a power such
as Dark Bomb or Dark Blast. Note: For some reason this does not work with
the auto-fire feature.
Glitch:
Super Jak: When you are in the first level where you need to get out of
jail, you will reach a port with a hatch on it. You cannot open it. However,
if you jump above the hatch and press the Square for a head dive, you
will hit and remain that way for a few seconds, in a Superman-type pose.
Glitch:
Empty horizon: When you start at the dig (the place where you break the cables),
go to the right then over the bridge. Go down the hill and find a cave that
goes to the right. It is difficult to find. You must have your Hoverboard
for this. You will reach some lava. Jump over it and get off just when you
land. This may require a few attempts. Look forward to see a grayish green
horizon. If you walk on it, you will die.
Glitch:
Reverse racing causes game not able to be completed: If you do the reverse races before the Metal Heads invade Haven
City, you will not be able to go past the part where you have to talk to
Keira. The game is supposed to tell you to protect both Samoses, but Keria
will not appear so you can not do it. Also, on the map the wrench that
symbolizes Keria will disappear and be replaced with the symbol that tells
you that you have to race. If you worked hard to get the Precursor Orbs, you
now cannot get any more. You will have no choice but to restart you game or
attempt to get 200 Precursor Orbs and get hero mode if it has not already
been unlocked.
Glitch:
Go through wall: When you are near the stadium section of the map, follow the
little "canal" on your mini map until it ends. On your left will
be a little pocket of space where cars turn around. There should be a little
blue light on the wall. Steal a car and drive just to the left of the blue
light on the wall. When you hit the wall, you will go through and end up on
the other side by the stadium. If you examine the glitch a little closer and
maneuver your vehicle correctly, you can make your way in between the walls
and explore the level a little bit more than usual. Note: If you change to
the lower hover zone you will fall into the blackness and die.
Glitch:
Jak stands in water: Get the green security pass from Krew, then fail the mission. Go
to a bridge n the green section and walk on the slanted thing. Just barely
go in the water. Jak will stand in the water. You can kick in the water.
Note: Do not punch or you will start to swim. This may require a few
attempts.
In the "Protect Site In
Dead Town" level, after you hop up the steps to get to a higher
concrete level, you will find two Metal Heads. Kill them. Then, you should
see three pillars sticking out of the mud and one Metal Head standing on the
middle one and two on the land ahead that shoot energy balls, Kill them all.
Once you reach the land after the pillars, walk straight up until you touch
the wall. Then, turn right and walk all the way to the rubble. Turn the
camera to the left about 90 degrees and stop. You will see Jak standing on
the mud and not receiving damage. If you do not see this immediately,
continuously toggle the camera until it appears.
Glitch:
Swim with Peacemaker: When you are somewhere with water, take out your Peacemaker. Do
not do anything with it; just jump in the water. While you are swimming,
jump in the air, pull out your Peacemaker, and charge it by jumping and
holding R1. When you come back down in the water you will be swimming
with a charged Peacemaker.
Glitch:
Tomb Of Mar: Peacemaker: Note: This trick works best with the "Unlimited ammo"
cheat. Go to the Tomb Of Mar and go down the elevator. You should be on a
little pathway. Take out your Peacemaker and rapidly tap R1. Be
patient, as this takes awhile. You will hear a ringing sound.
Glitch:
Shoot in first-person mode: Take out your Peacemaker and charge it. Then, press R3 to
enter first person mode. Aim at whatever desired and shoot. Note: If there
are Krimzon Guards nearby, the shot will go off and kill them.
Glitch:
Fall forever: Note: This can only be done after you have defeated the Baron the
first time. When you get on the roof of the palace, there should be a roof
piece in the first part of the three part area. Take out your Hover Board
and ride up it. When you get at the top, you should be where it meets the
wall. Jump off of the Hover Board and you will fall. You can see Haven City
and blackness. After you fall for awhile, you will keep falling into
blackness. To leave this you must reset the PlayStation2.
Glitch:
Destroyed cars keep moving on the ground: Unlock and enable the "Invincibility" cheat. Find a car
(single seat Zoomers not recommended) that is parked. Begin hitting it with
punches (Square) and kicks (Circle) until it begins to shoot
out fire. Then, jump in the car (do not press Triangle) by pressing X
and start kicking (Circle) while inside the car. The car will soon
crash to the ground, and if you are still in it, will still be moving on the
ground even though it is destroyed. Note that the car only shakes around in
a circle and you cannot control it. Also, if you jump out the car will
immediately stop moving.
Glitch:
Chase music continues to play: Go to the Port area at the building where you can practice
shooting and pick up ammunition. Look for a set of doors with a Zoomer
parked near them. Do something to get the Krimson Guards after you then go
inside the building. Wait for the doors to close then exit. If done
correctly, you will still hear the chase music playing, but the guards will
not be after you.
Glitch:
Younger Samos: After completing the game, go to the place in Haven Forest where
you protected Samos. He is still there, even though he went back in time.
Glitch:
Disappearing Metal Heads: When you are fighting Metal Kor, when he jumps down all the Metal
Heads that were there will have disappeared.
Glitch:
Krimson Guards hate Yakows: In the level where there are Metal Heads in the city, go to the
area where there are Yakows. The Krimson Guards will attack the Yakows.
Glitch:
Strange ledge: Do the mission for Onin to get the three artifacts. When you get
the second artifact, the machine that is holding it breaks. Go back slightly
and jump to the left. You will fall to a glitched ledge. Remain still and
the game responds as if you are on an island to get the third artifact.
Glitch:
Green Eco: When you roll into a wall, Jak will bounce back and small dots of
Green Eco will be floating around his head.
Glitch:
Disappearing fire: Go to the stadium entrance and steal a car (preferably the one
with a big rectangular grille). Smash it up until it catches fire. Then,
drive it towards the left entrance of the stadium. Park it directly under
the little arch-like thing next to it. When you get out, walk away a few
steps. If done correctly, it will not be on fire. However, when you either
walk into the back of it or jump under it, it will catch fire again.
Please
select the first letter of the game's title below. If the word
"The" appears at the start of a title, ignore it and search for
the second word in the title:
