Hint:
Easy Imperial Arena: Get a bow or some decent spells. Make sure you have at least 30
in Acrobatics. As soon as the gate drops, run to your right, to where the
right gate meets the fence. Jump onto the stone piece that juts out. Then,
jump again to get on top of the little piece sticking out above it. Once
on top, turn and fire on your helpless victims. When you have to fight
mages or archers, stay on the ground and strafe behind the four central
pillars for easy kills.
Make sure you are already a
Champion in the Arena. Talk to the Grand Champion about his nobility and
how he needs proof of his nobility. He will send you on a quest to
Crowhaven and give you a key. Use the fast travel system to get to Anvil.
You will then need to travel northwest to get to the Crowhaven ruin.
Beware of the skeleton archer and skeleton guardian. The archer is easy,
but the guardian is not. Just block and strike. You will eventually kill
the guardian. Once you get inside the ruin, watch out for wolves. There
will be one to the right as you enter. Just follow the path through the
ruin, killing the wolves and skeleton archers. There will be a gate that
needs a key, but the Grand Champ already gave it to you. Unlock the gate
and walk through. The only "monster" will be a half naked man
with an Elven dagger. Take your time and block and strike twice. Do not
underestimate the little dagger. Once he is dead, find the journal. Your
quest will be updated. Once you go out of the gate that you unlocked with
the key, there is a door down to your left. Beware, as there are three
vampires and one wolf. The vampires will give you a disease. There is not
anything special down here, and is an optional area . Exit the ruin and
fast travel back to the Arena. Talk to the Grand Championand he will
become extremely depressed and not want to live. Challenge him in the
arena. Talk to Ysabela about the challenge. Go up to the Arena. Once the
gates drop he will charge at you. However, he will not attack you. He will
tell you to kill him to put him out of his misery. Hack away at him. Once
he dies you will get got an Elven longsword and Dwarven shield (heavy).
Bring back his Raiment Of Valor to get your own.
Hint:
Easy magic skills increase: Complete all the Mage Guild Recommendation Quests to gain
access to the Arcane University. Buy the cheapest spell you can find for
each of the magic based skills (Illusion, Conjuration, Alteration,
Mysticism, Restoration and Destruction). For Destruction, a Drain Spell is
recommended. Go to where you make your own spells and select a spell. Make
it so you only use up 1 Magicka and the spell is on "Self". Name
the spell and create it. Do this with all the other types of magic based
skills then make them all on "Self", including Destruction. If
you used a Drain spell, when you use it on yourself it may appear you took
damage but you do not, because you drain it from yourself to yourself.
Cast the spells all the time when you are walking around or whenever
possible. Your skills will increase quickly without having to wait between
spellcastings. Note: This trick will only work if the spells are cast on
"Self". Spells do not count towards experience unless they have
an effect on something.
Hint:
Easy skill bonuses: Complete all the Mage Guild Recommendation Quests to gain
access to the Arcane University. Create a Fortify Skill 100 spell that
lasts for a few seconds on self for Mercantile and/or Armorer. With the
Mercantile spell, cast it in front of a merchant, activate them, and you
will be able to invest 500 gold at their store without being a Master in
Mercantile. In addition, you can drive harder bargains. For Armorer, cast
the spell and then equip an Armorer's Hammer. Your hammer can be used
infinitely without being a Master Armorer. You cannot, however, repair
magical items without having legitimately reached the Journeyman Armorer
level. Similar spells can be created for other attributes and/or skills:
Personality and Speechcraft for raising people's dispositions, Security
for picking any lock, etc.
Hint:
Easy Alchemy experience: Steal a mortar and pestle. Steal a lot of food items and turn
them into potions. It should not take too long before you reach the Master
Of Alchemy level.
Get two ingredients that form
to make a potion. Use the "Duplicate items" glitch on the
ingredients to create a large number of them. Then continually, make
potions and your Alchemy will increase extremely fast. Note: Only
duplicate about 100 of each ingredient at a time or the game will freeze.
Hint:
Easy Alteration experience: To get quick levels in the Alteration skill, make sure you have
these spells: Open Average Lock, Open Easy Lock, and Open Very Easy Lock.
Then, find a chest that you would have to normaly need a key or have to
lock pick. Use the opposite spell of the chest. For example, if the chest
requires the easy spell, use the very easy spell on it. Make sure you have
some Magicka potions or you can just wait an hour every time you exhaust
you Magicka supply. In no time you will have leveled your Alteration skill
dramatically.
When you get the Open Very
Easy Lock spell, keep using it on all boxes, barrels, and doors even if
they are not locked. This will quickly level up your Alteration skill.
Go to the Imperial City
Market place at day and enter the shops. Make sure you have at least Open
Easy Lock equipped. Enter the shops and use the spell on the basement and
living quarters doors, but do not enter them. Then, repeat in any other
shops.
Hint:
Easy Armorer experience: There is a woman named Arvena Thelas in the town of Anvil who
has four rats in her basement (the same as the first Fighter's Guild
quest). If your level is high enough that rats do not cause you
significant damage, you can break into her house, annoy the rats by
punching them (or casting drain fatigue spells if your punch is too
strong), then letting all four rats attack you while you just cast an
occasional heal spell. This is also useful for raising your Block skill,
and is much easier than repeatedly causing summoned monsters to attack
you.
Gain access to the Arcane
University. Go to where you make spells and make a spell that damages
armor and put it on "self." Use the "Duplicate items"
glitch on repair hammers then just cast and repair to get the skill up.
Finish the final Umbacano
mission using the option of giving him the fake crown. After the mission
is complete, take the crown off his corpse. The crown is broken and does
not have a health percentage. Buy many hammers and keep repairing it.
Because it has no health you can repair it an unlimited amount of times,
raising your Armorer skill quickly.
Hint:
Easy Athletics experience: Get an enchanted amulet, ring, or other item you can enchant
with Water Breathing. Make sure it is a constant effect. Equip the item
with Water Breathing then jump in some water. Swim to the bottom and just
hold the Analog-stick Up to keep swimming into the floor. Your
Athletics will greatly increase in five minutes.
Hint:
Easy Conjuration experience: Near the town of Bruna, go east, southeast. If you reach The
Red Ruby Cave you went too far. You will need to go back west slightly.
You should see a shrine, that will once activated, will give you
Conjuration points as well as a temporary bound weapon and/or greaves. You
can keep activating the shrine every 24 hours. Wait in front of it for 24
hours, then activate it again. Repeat this as many times as desired.
Hint:
Easy Hand-To-Hand experience: In order to make this work, you must have 100% or more
Invisibility or Chameleon. This is done by either enchanting a number of
armor, rings, or amulets, or you can enter an Oblivion Gate and keep
reloading the game until you find the Sigil Stone that offers Silence and
Chameleon. After you get that stone, use the "Duplicate item"
glitch and you can now instantly enchant your items without the trouble of
finding Soul Gems and Souls. Now that you have Invisibility, go up to a
guard and start beating him up using hand-to-hand combat. When he dies,
more guards will keep spawning. You can just keep beating on them. You can
also find a character that is marked with a crown that will not die, and
only becomes unconscious. Because they do not see you, it is not bad.
Also, they never die, so you can endlessly beat on them until you master
Hand-To-Hand. Your skill increases about every 20 seconds or more,
depending on how high your skill level already is.
Go to the Arena district in
the Imperial City. You will see two NPCs (an Argonian and an Imperial
woman) fighting. Stand close to them for a minute. Your Hand-To-Hand skill
will increase by 5. Note: This can only be done once.
If you are in the Fighting
Guild, you can watch to people training and your blade and block will
increase.
Hint:
Easy Mercantile experience: Join a guild that has a building, like the Mages or Fighting
Guild. Go in and take as much as you can. Sell it for profit and raise
your Mercantile skill.
Hint:
Easy Restoration experience: To do this, you must be far enough into the Mages Guild quests
so you can make your own spells. Go there and make a Fortify Health,
Fatigue or Magika. You can make it target or self, but make sure it is
only for one second. Then, repeatedly use it.
Hint:
Easy Sneak experience: A very easy way to increase your Sneak skill is to find someone
who is sleeping. Find a wall that they are near, then run against the wall
while sneaking. As long as no one can see you, your skill will go increase
until the person wakes. If this happens, wait until night and allow them
go back to sleep.
When you have the option to
join the Thieves Guild by meeting Armand Christope at the Imperial Water
Front garden around 11 p.m., accept his task. He will offer you the option
to buy lockpicks. Do not buy any. Go into sneak mode and get behind him.
Not only will you get the lockpicks from him, you can also repeatedly
pickpocket him to build up your Sneak skill. He will just tell you to go
ahead, and that he does not need it anyway.
Whenever you get in jail, go
into sneak mode. Move around for awhile and your Sneak level will rise.
After the assassination of
Emperor Uriel Septim (during the opening mission), leave the Emperor's
body with one of his guards, Baurus. After walking down the newly revealed
"secret" passage, turn around. You should still be able to see
Emperor Septim's body and part of Baurus. Walk to the nearest corner (to
your left), put yourself in sneak mode, then walk forward. Your Sneak
level will increase quickly from here. If you have a wired controller, you
can keep the Analog-stick held Forward and allow the game to
idle. Check back every fifteen minutes, as the game will pause as you
reach achieve Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert or Master classifications. If
you done correctly, you should be at 100 Sneak within ninety minutes.
Join the Dark Brotherhood.
When you recieve your first quest to kill Rufio, enter his room and go
into sneak mode. Rufio sleeps for 20 hours a day. Walk around in his room
or use a rubber band to hold the Analog-stick so that you are
running directly into the wall to gain very easy Sneak levels.
Complete the Fighting Arena
in the Imperial City and become Grand Champion. Once you collect all your
money from the Bloodworks person, go outside. There will be a kid that
runs up to you and say that he is your biggest fan. He will ask if he can
follow you around. Select "Yes you may follow me around" and he
will go wherever you go. Go to a place away from any guards or people.
Crouch into sneak mode. Select "Pickpocket" on the kid. You will
be brought into his inventory. Press B to exit out of his
inventory. Do not steal anything. Repeat this by pressing A to pick
pocket and B to exit. You will gain Sneak experience very quickly.
He does not care if you pickpocket him because he is your "biggest
fan".
Hint:
Easy Speech experience: Find a person whom you do not care about them liking you
(preferably a guard). Go into persuade mode. Rapidly rotate the Left
Analog-stick and tap A. It does not matter what you pick; just
rotate and tap. In about five minutes you can go over level 40 Speech.
Hint:
Easy experience: When you are doing the arena and are about to fight the Grand
Champion, do his side quest first so that during the fight he does not
try. When you are about to actually fight him, go into game options and
set the difficulty to "Very Hard". This give everyone you fight
more health. When you are attacking the Grand Champion, you can get a lot
more free hits in without worrying about him trying to fight back. This
works even better if you are using a very weak weapon. It is not about how
much damage you do that increases your levels, but how much you attack.
Your character must have a
major skill of Sneak and either Destruction or Alteration. If your skills
are Sneak and Destruction, gain access to the Arcane University. Go to the
place to make spells. Make a Drain Health spell and make sure that it is
set to "Self"and it only uses 1 Magicka. Then, go upstairs. Go
into Sneak mode and just run into the wall without stopping. Activate
magic (RB) repeatedly. You will soon gain levels quickly. Note:
When you activate the magic it will seem as if it is hurting you, but it
is not. If your skills are Sneak and Alteration, go into a room with a
container (for example, cupboard, drawers, etc.). Run into the container
in Sneak mode and use a "open very easy lock"repeatedly on the
container.
Make your character a Dark
Elf with the birthsign Warrior, and create a class with the following
attributes: Athletics, Acrobatics, Blade, Block, Blunt, Heavy Armor, and
Marksman. Next complete the arena to get leveled up. Then, get a horse and
go to the lady in Kvatch. Note: You may have to shut the Oblivion Gate.
Once on your horse, talk to the Orc woman at Kvatch and sell your most
expensive equipped weapon until you have 55,000 gold. Then, join the
Fighters Guild and complete your first mission. Then, go directly south of
Imperial City and find a bridge. Cross the bridge to find a place called
Vindisel. Kill a lady named Umbra and take her armor, shield, and blade.
Next, go to Imperial City and mess with the guards. Every now and then
when you are about to die, run from Imperial City before the guards kill
you, or pay the fine using the gold from Kvatch. After you level up, go to
any Fighters Guild and train your major skills. Then, attack the Imperial
Guards and repeat.
Use the following trick for
easy experience in Leyawiin (Blade, Blunt, Hand to Hand, Destruction,
Marksman and Sneak). Go to Leyawiin find Rosentia Gallenus' House. She has
four Scamps. You can kill them and more will respawn. Sneak attack with a
blade, mace, or hand to hand. Then, use a bow and cast fire. Note: If you
use your bow, the arrows are hard to get back. Note: If you finish the
quest you cannot do this anymore.
Go to Cloud Ruler Temple
northwest of Bruma. Walk up the big stairs. You will see two Blades
sparing. Stand close to them for a minute and your Blade and Block skills
will increase by 2. Note: This can only be done once.
Use one of the "Easy
money" hints and get at least 500,000 gold. Then find a place
(taverns recommended) with two trainers who train in any two of your major
skills. Train with one of them until you cannot do so anymore. Then, train
with the second one until you cannot anymore. By now you should get the
level up icon. Go to sleep and level up. You can repeat the process until
you reach maximum level or max out the two skills.
Hint:
Easy money: A quick way to make money without going to the trouble of
stealing or fighting for it is to join a guild. When you join a guild you
will have access to a number of guild halls all over Tamriel. It seems
that the guild has no problem sharing their wealth. You can pick up nearly
any item in the various guilds without making it a crime, and without
labeling your items as stolen. By doing this you can just loot the guild
halls and sell them to the closest merchant for an easy profit. It is not
very ethical but quite effective.
When you defeat Caminalda on
the Anvil Recommendation quest for the mages guild, search her body for
gold and her room key for the inn. Use her room key on the upper door in
the inn. You will find a treasure chest in the back of the room. Open the
unlocked chest to get all of the gold that is inside.
Use the following trick to
easily complete the "independent thievery" requirements and get
easy gold. Get a very valuable item such as the skeleton key (from the
Nocturnal Daedric Shrine quest). Use the "Duplicate items"
glitch. Go to any merchant and sell the duplicates. If you sell the items
to a Thieves Guild fence, you should have the required amount for most of
the remaining quests in no time.
In the Castle Bruma Servants
Quarters is a basket containing 1,000 gold.
Hint:
Easy stealing: Put on the Gray Fox's mask. Steal something and wait for the
guards to tell you, "Oh, you are the Gray Fox. I'm going to kill
you" (or something similar. Select "Resist Arrest". Then,
go to your inventory and take off the mask. Exit the menu, then yield to
the guard by holding Block and pressing A to talk to him at
the same time. He should walk away. You will not have a bounty, and you
will still have the stolen item.
Hint:
More Magika: Get into the Arcane University. Get some decent Soul Gems with
decent souls and enchant something constant effected fortify Magika/Intelligence.
With enchanted items (each roughly 20 points), it is useful. Use the
duplicate item cheat to get many Soul Gems.
Hint:
Infinate recharge: Perform the "Duplicate items" glitch on a Soul Gem.
Pick them all up. When an item is on low charge you can recharge it back
to full without wasting money on Soul Gems or going through the bother of
soul trapping.
Hint:
Invisibility: Complete all the Mage Guild Recommendation Quests so that you
can enter the Arcane University. Get five or more Grand Soul Gems and fill
them with Grand Souls. Buy a Chameleon spell such as Shroudwalk from a
mage. Go to the place where you enchant weapons with the following: two
rings, one necklace or amulet, and any two pieces of armor. Enchant the
rings, amulet and armor with the Chameleon effect using the Grand Soul
Gems. You will get 20% Chameleon for each of the equipment, for a total of
100%. Equip them all at once and you will be invisible to everyone. You
can now steal directly from people and attack anything without fear of
retaliation because they cannot see you. Use this to cause mischief around
towns, finish quests or dungeons without getting in battles, or to defeat
an enemy without getting hurt. Note: You must wear all the pieces at once
to be 100% invisible. You can use any other type of equipment as long as
there are at least five pieces and all have been enchanted using Grand
Soul Gems. Some enemies may hit you once, but they will not do so again.
Hint:
Save lockpicks: When you are going on a mission for the Theives Guild, it is
much easier to steal keys for all the doors from immobile gaurds (or the
owners of the building of the place you are robbing) after you have
leveled up your Sneak skill with the "Easy Sneak level" trick.
After you steal the keys you can open nearly every key for the building
you are in.
Hint:
Easy lockpick use: While unlocking a door, press Up on a key, then
immediately pause game play afterwards. , Look at the tab you raised up.
If it is mostly up and about to reach the top, resume the game and do it
again. If it is mostly half-way or mostly down, resume the game and
immediately press A. You should have that tab done. Continue on
with the next tab. This might require a few attempts, but after you have
done it once it should be easy.
You can open locks more
effectively if you listen closely to the sounds of the clicks the tumblers
make when you hit them. Try hitting them when they click twice.
To break into a house or
chest easier, pay attention to the speed of the tumblers when they drop.
If you try after the tumbler fell fast, you will have a much better chance
of keeping the tumbler up.
Hint:
Unlimited arrows: For an unlimited source of iron arrows, go to the Bloodworks in
the arena. One of the gladiators is practicing with his bow on a target.
Stand close by. When there are five to ten arrows in the target, take them
before he does. He will just continue shooting when you move out of the
way. This is an unlimited source of iron arrows, which can be sold to
almost any merchant and therefore also makes an unlimited source of gold.
When you are at the Inn of
Ill Omen, go outside where the man is practicing his archery. He is using
steel arrows. Go in front of him and pick up the arrows. He will not hit
you. He will wait until you move out of his way. You will not get into
trouble with the guards. You can do this as many times as desired.
Go to Cheydinhal and break
into Bazur gro-Gharz's house. When you kill him, search his body. He will
have unlimited steel arrows.
Hint:
Easy Ebony and Umbra Sword: Go to the Arena and get a few claymores. Then, go directly
south of the Imperial Waterfront to a place called the Old Bridge. Move
west and follow the road until you reach a ruin that starts with a
"V". Go inside and get past the minor creatures. You will find a
girl. This is Umbra. There is one broken pillar in the room. Use the bench
next to it to jump on top of it, then stand at the edge. Use a ranged
attack to have her start attacking you. Then, take out the claymore and
just start hitting her. She has a lot of health and does a lot of damage
-- do not fall off the pillar. If all goes well you will have full Ebony
and an incredible sword without getting touched.
Hint:
Keep the Staff of Everscamp and enchant it into a weapon: Go to Leyawin and ask a someone about rumors. They should say
something about dealing with Rosentia Gallenus. Go to her house. When you
entree you should see some Scamps. Do not kill them as they will respawn
almost instantly. Talk to her and she will explain the Scamps. Follow the
quest until you get at the shrine and must drop the Staff of Everscamp.
Kill one of the Everscamps in the shrine room, go to loot his body, and
place the staff on his body. A message will appear, telling you to return
to Rosentia Gallenus and tell her what happened. Loot the body of the
Scamp and take back the Staff of Everscamp. If you just drop it near the
shrine the game will not allow you to pick it back up. The Scamps should
not follow if you fast travel. When you return to Rosentia Gallenus, she
will give you the Ring of Eidolon's Edge, with leveled Block and Blade
enchantments. To turn your blank staff into a weapon you either need
access to the Arcane University, or own Frostcraig Spire. Just enchant it
like any other weapon. If you need a Grand Soul Gem or better enchantments
there is one inside the Arch-Mage's Lobby in a five tumbler display case.
Hint:
Border Watch: Glass and enchanted weapons and armor: There is a city called Border Watch, northwest of Leyawin.
Everyone there has nice Glass weapons, some of which are enchanted. You
cannot steal them while they are sleeping, but can steal their armor (mithril).
The Sheregoth shrine allows you to do a quest here. The Daedric asks you
to fulfill a prophesy. Do the quest, which include three tasks and your
done. After this, go to one of the people's houses. You should be about
level 15. Have a good sword ready, then go in sneak mode. Hit the person
with a sneak attack x6. Do not stop and they will appear dazed. Once they
are dead you can get their items, which are worth a lot of gold. Do this
repeatedly to any house desired. Do not do it to the shaman unless you are
at a higher level. Some houses have two people inside. You can sometimes
kill one person without the other waking up, then kill the other person.
Hint:
Rockmilk Cave: Glass armor and weapons: Make sure you are at least to level 15 before doing this, as
there will be better armor and weapons inside. Travel on the west road
from Leyawiin and keep walking on the trail until you get to Waters Edge
(a small town). From Waters Edge, walk northwest until you reach Rockmilk
Cave. This cave is very close to Waters Edge. Go inside and follow the
trails. You will encounter some thieves inside the cave. If they do not
notice you they will fight each other. You can let them fight or join in
and have some fun hacking away. They are not difficult if you are leveled
up. Go through the cave and you will find at least fifteen people inside.
Each of them has their own set of Glass, Orcish, Daedric, or Elven armor
and weapons. You can fill up with items and sell about four times.
Hint:
Shadowmere: You can buy various types of horses. In fact, you even get a
free Paint Horse just after the beggining at Weynon Priory. This is the
weakest and slowest horse of them all. Do not buy any other horse because
they can be expensive when you are starting out. You can get a horse that
is better than all of them for free. This is Shadowmere. You can get him
after completing the Dark Brotherhood quest "The Purification",
which is the first quest you get when you start working for Lachance.
Simply kill an innocent person (preferably a beggar if you are not part of
the Thieves Guild) and sleep so that you may begin the Dark Brotherhood
quests. After a few you will get Shadowmere. He is very fast and has a
sizeable amount of HP. Shadowmere is black/purple, wears a skull on his
forehead, has a bloody handprint on the sides of his sadle, and red eyes
that glow occasionally at night. He also helps you in battle if you fight
near him. Best of all, he cannot die or run away. He is considered an
important character and will just fall unconcious if defeated then will
rise again in a few seconds to join the fray. If you happen to lose him,
you can go to Fort Farragut and he will be there waiting for you.
Hint:
Unicorn: The Unicorn and be found northeast of Inn Of Ill Omen and east
of Mingo Cave at a place called Harcane's Grove. It is protected by four
Minotaurs. The easiest way to reac it is to move west/southwest from Fort
Variela, which is on the coast of the upper Niben River. By doing this,
you will see the Unicorn before the Minotaur sees you.
Note: Be careful of the
Minotaurs. If you start fighting them close to the Unicorn, the Unicorn
will join with them against you, and you will not be able to mount it.
Just run up to the Unicorn, mount it, and run away. You will find the
Unicorn to be both very fast and immune to regular weapons.
Once you find the Unicorn and
have gotten away, it will not accept you as its owner (may only happen if
you already have a horse). Do not draw a weapon before it. It is strong
and will kill you.
The Unicorn cannot be tamed
or captured. Once you find it in the Harcane Grove, you can ride it.
However once you ride a distance from the grove and you get off the horse,
it will start walking away and return to the Harcane Grove. It does not
matter if you approach it without a weapon or kill the minotaurs guarding
it.
If you fight any enemy with
the unicorn around, it will attack you.
Hint:
Vampires: There is a broken down fort that is the base for some
relatively weak vampires directly south of Chorrol. The fort is called
Fort Carmala, and it is located near Hackdirt, very close to northeast of
Weatherleah. To reach it, if you have not done the Hackdirt or Weatherleah
quests, go to Chorrol. Leave from the south gate and move directly south.
If you reach the city of Hackdirt, you are near it. Look for a group of
white rocky ruins. The door to the cave is among the ruins.
If you load a save file in
which your character is a vampire, there is a chance that your character's
facial features may revert to the default facial features for that race.
If that happens you should try and load a previous save file, however it
could be permanent. Always try to keep a file that was saved before your
character became a vampire.
Hint:
Becoming a vampire: Before you become a vampire, it is recomended that you become a
member of the Mages Guild, access to the Arcane University, and either a
member of the Dark Brotherhood or started the Order of Virtuous Blood
quest.
Dark Brotherhood Story:
Become a member of the Dark Brotherhood by killing an innocent person,
going to sleep in an inn, traveling to the Inn of Ill Omen, and killing
Rufio. Travel to the Sanctuary and talk to Vicente and finish all of his
contracts. He will then ask if you wish to become a vampire. Say
"Yes", then sleep on the slab. When you wake up, sleep again
for twenty four hours three times. You are now a full-fledged vampire.
Order Of Virtuous Blood
Story: It is not required to begin the quest, but if you do the vampires
will be easier to kill. If you have not, travel along the river just to
the east of Imperial City until you find a cave. Go in and you should
find lots of vampires. Attack one and let it hit you a few times. Kill
it, then go back to Imperial City. Get a room in an inn and sleep for
twenty four hours three times. You are now a full-fledged vampire.
Use the following trick to
become a vampire without doing quests. When you sleep outside frequenly,
eventually you will wake up and a message will state that you have had a
strange dream. After this you will have very strange dreams and will have
all the attributes of a vampire. Be careful of being outside during the
day.
Hint:
Benefits and weaknesses of being a vampire: Vampires get a boost in many of their stats and abilities, not
just Strength. The increase in abilities of a vampire is not determined by
how much he sleeps, but by how much he goes without feeding. Not exactly,
but for about each day one goes without feeding your character will get a
5 point increase to his vampire stats and skills. To receive these
increases, the vampire player must to sleep or wait. The game will notify
you of these stat boosts. If the vampire is well fed, light will not harm
him, but he will have 25% weakness to fire. After the first stat boost
(which boosts vampire stats from 5 to 10) he will loose this weakness to
fire. Select the magic tab, then the last of the five tabs in the magic
section, to see all the current effects on his character. The first thing
is a "vampire meter" that has a percentage of how much one is a
vampire (25% increments, starting at 25% up to 100%, in four stages).
Depending on how high that percentage is, the sun will do more or less
damage to you, from Sun Damage 1 all the way to 8. Furthermore, the time
of the day is also important for sun damage. At dusk and dawn the damage
dealt is very small, even to a 100% vampire. On the other hand noon is a
very dangerous time for a full vampire as he will have just enough time to
run from one house on one side of the street to the other (depending on
how much life one has). The stats that being a vampire increases are:
Vampire Stats, Strength, Speed, Willpower, Sneak, Mysticism, Illusion,
Hand to Hand, Destruction, Athletics, Acrobatics, and Resist Normal
Weapons. Depending on which stage of the vampire you are in, you will get
from 5 to 20 points in each of these stats. (25% vampire = 5 points) (25%
vampire = base vampire, fully fed). Other special stats or skills get
added depending on the vampire level. Vampire Skills that are always
present are: Hunter's Sight (Nighteye and Detect Life), Resist Disease
100%, and Resist Paralysis 100%.
Vampire 25% Weakness to Fire: 20
+5 to all of the vampire stats
Vamipre 50% Vampiric Seduction (charm on touch)
+10 to all of the vampire stats
Vampire 75% Reign of Terror (fear)
+15 to all of the vampire stats
Vampire 100% Embrace of Shadows (Invisibility + Night Eye)
+20 to all of the vampire stats
Note: Most people and merchants will not talk to you in this form
At base level you get +5 to
Strength, Willpower, Speed, Acrobatics, Athletics, Destruction, Hand 2
Hand, Illusion, Mysticism, and Sneak. You also get a resistance to disease
and paralysis, and a small resistance to normal weapons. For every day you
go without feeding (up to a maximum of four days), your boosted skills
will go up by another 5, as will your resistance to normal weapons. You
will get a spell for each of the four days as well; on day one Hunter's
Sight(Night Eye/Detect life), on day two Vampire's Seduction (Charm), on
day three Reign of Terror (silence/demoralise area), and finally on day
four Embrace of the Shadows (180 seconds Invisibliity, 90 seconds Night
Eye). The weaknesses are, on day one (within 24 hours of last feeding)
weakness to fire, you are safe from the sun; on day two (48 hours from
last feeding), burn in sunlight; on day three (72 hours from last
feeding), increased damage from sun; and on day four (over 96 hours from
last feeding), everyone will recognize you as a vampire and most will not
interact with you and there will be another increase in sun damage.
Hint:
Feeding as a vampire: If you have a good Sneak skill you can feed from a sleeping
person without waking them.
Hint:
Cure for vampiricy: This is why you need to be allowed in the University. Go in and
talk to the mage. He will tell you to talk to a man in Skingrad. Do as he
says and run errands for whoever you need to talk to. Eventually you will
be allowed to get rid of your vampiricy.
The Vampiricy cure does work,
but if you have completed the game and closed all the Oblivion Gates, you
will not have access to fresh Bloodgrass (which is needed for the cure).
Also, if you buy it she will not take it. If you have completed the game,
try to stay away from vampires.
Hint:
Brother Good Betrayed quest: When you are in Bruma, the house on the right behind the temple
(coming from the east gate) will have a gaurd in front of it. The guard
will tell you that someone has been murdered. Later when you go in, there
will be a woman and two gaurds. One of the guards will allow you to have a
dialogue menu so you can choose a response. You may have to bribe the
guard to let you conduct your own investigation. After you talk to the
woman, she tells you that her husband was murdered by a vampire hunter
(though she does not think he was a vampire). She tells you to find out
more by locating the vampire hunter. To find where he is you can just talk
to innkeepers, but he will always be in the Sac And Tap to the left of the
east gate. Do not bribe the owner of the Sac And Tap because he will never
tell you where he is. To get him to give you the key to the vampire
hunter's room, get the spell in the basement of the house of the widow.
There is a charm spell. Use it on the Sac And Tap owner and he will
happily give you the key. When you go into his room in the back, there is
a book behind a table. Take the book to the guard you talked to at the
widow's house. He will then tell you to meet him outside the Sac And Tap.
When you do this, he will tell you that the vampire hunter has made a
break for a cave beyond the town. You may find three guards in the fields
killing each other. If you see this happening, you may want to wait it out
and take their armor. There also may be one or two bandits on the way that
are relatively easy to defeat. You will need a very high Acrobatic or
Agility skill for the next part. Immediately after you see the vampire
hunter stepping out of the side cave, shoot a fireball or snowball at him
then run out of the cave. He should follow you. Keep running all the way
back to Bruma. If you go in, he will follow and the gaurds will not
hesitate to take him out. It is easier to get away from the vampire hunter
if you jump as much as you can and quickly run in a zig-zag pattern. It
will also be helpful if you cast healing or protecting spells on yourself
during the sprint back to Bruma. If done correctly, you can finish the
mission with very little skill or strength.
Hint:
The Purification quest: On the "The Purification" quest for the Dark
Brotherhood, use the following trick to easily kill some of the members in
the santuary such as Ocheeva and Vincent. First. get your Disposition with
them as high as possible, then sneak attack them with a dagger. Before
they have a time to retaliate, propose a yeild. You can attack and yeild
repetedly until they are killed.
Hint:
Taking Care Of Lex quest: Different weapons: While doing the ''Taking Care Of Lex" quest for the
Thieves Guild you must to scald the paper with Lex's seal. Just beside the
desk where the seal is, you will see a chest. If you came in the door
directly behind the chest you will get an Elven longsword, Glass longsword,
Orcish helmet, and a Mythril sheild. If you came in from the door upstairs
you will get an Elven longsword and Dwarven greaves. If you came in the
exact entrance you cannot open the chest.
Hint:
Bruma: Escaping from jail: If you get sent to jail in Bruma, you will be in a cell with
another person named Jorundr. If you punch him once, the jailer will
unlock your cell, kill Jorundr, and leave the cell door open. You can now
escape from jail by killing the jailer or sneaking out. You can only do
this once. Note: Jorundr is a character in the "Two Sides of the
Coin" quest. If you kill him, you cannot complete the quest. Do not
kill him until you finish the quest.
Hint:
Leyawin: Horse racing: You first need to get a black horse (for example, at the stable
by Chaydenhall). Go to Leyawin and start up the road to the right that
does not go to Bruma. Go follow the road for awhile. Ignore the small town
to your right. Go a little past the town and a woman on a black horse
should cut you off. Note: This may not work every time. You must be at
that location at 6:45 to 7:00 a.m.
Hint:
Skingrad: Hidden treasure: Buy the house in Skingrad and the upgrades for it. You should
have a deer head mounted in the wall. Jump on it and retrieve the note. It
should say that the man who is writing it is being sent to the prison, but
left a clue to his treasure for his loved one. However she never found it.
The answer to the riddle is an hourglass. Go in the basement of the house.
The hourglass can be found at the top of a support beam with the garlic
hanging from it. Pick it up and you should get about seven flawless gems
and the Ring Of The Grey.
Hint:
Skingrad: Song reference: When you go to Skingrad Castle (where the Lord is the Vampire),
follow the lizard woman wearing a green tunic. After awhile she will stop
and talk to a passerby in the castle. She will start talking about some
wine she had drank from the nearest wine vender in town. The passerby
replies "Yes he is a very good friend of mine. He let me drink his
wine. It was a mighty fine wine!". These are lyrics to the song
"Joy To The World" by Three Dog Night.
Hint:
Nord: Easy kills: If you selected a Nord as your race, choose The Lover as you
star pattern. This makes it extremely eay to kill someone. First, get them
down a bit in health. Then use The Lover's star pattern ability to stun
them. while they are stunned, hit them with Nordic Frost. This will kill
almost all enemies and works well as a finisher.
Hint:
Non-random Sigil Stones: While in Sigillum Sanguis (the Sigil Keep at the top of an
Oblivion Citadel), save the game while standing in front of the Sigil
Stone. If the effects of the stone you get are not to your liking, load
from the point before you grabbed it. The Sigil Stone you get is chosen at
random upon removing it.
Hint:
Making Black Soul Gems: You need an empty Grand Soul Gem and a Soultrap spell. Take
these to any of the four Necromancer lairs. There will be an altar which
will only be active one day of the week. You may need to wait up to six
game days. Place your gem on the altar when it is active and cast Soul
Trap on it. You will now have a Black Soul Gem. These are used for
capturing the souls of NPCs. One is also required for one of the Daedric
Quests as a tribute to the shrine.
Hint:
Good armor: At the beginning of the game after the King's convoy is
attacked, quickly take the dead guard's katana and armor. This will make
slaughtering rats and defeat trolls a lot easier.
To get easy guard's armor or
weapons, you must be able to summon something more powerful than a basic
skeleton. Get close to some guards and summon your creature. Then, attack
your creature three times with a weak weapon (so it will not die). Your
creature will start to attack you. The guard will start to attack the
creature. If he does not, lure your creature into attacking the guard.
Your creature will do a little damage to the guard, then die. Repeat this
process untill the guard is dead, then loot his body. Note: The other
guards will not arrest you for looting the guard's body.
Hint:
Good weapon: Fill a Black Soul Gem with a Human Soul. Take a weapon that is
not already enchanted and give it shock damage, fire damage, or frost
damage. Then, give it weaknes to whatever damage you just gave it. When
you swing the first time, it will do the fire, frost, or shock damage then
give them a weakness to it. The second swing will do a lot more damage.
Hint:
Nocternal's Cown: After you complete the last quest of the Thieves Guild, the
Gray Fox will give you the promotion of Guild Master, and the Nocternal's
Cown. Nocternal's Cown will let you see living things as energy even
through walls. Note: When you equip Nocternal's Cown, you are the Gray Fox
-- when guards see you they will try to arrest you. Nocternal's Cown also
lets you carry more items and increase your Sneaking skill.
Hint:
Ring of Grey: Get a large amount of money either through a duplication glitch
or normal game play. Go to Skingrad and speak to the Orc butler in the
castle. You may need to raise his disposition first. Buy the empty house
from him. Next, go to Colovian Traders and buy the upgrades for the house.
You may not need every one, but you can buy them all. Go to the house. Go
to the very top floor to the master bedroom. When you enter, there will be
a bed around the corner to the left. Go around the bed and find a chest on
the floor by the wall on your right side, and a bookcase on the back wall.
Jump on the chest, and then on the bookcase. Look to the left, and there
will be a scroll on a ledge behind where the bed is located. Read the
scroll to get a riddle. Go to the very bottom floor to what seems to be a
wine cellar. There will be a column in the middle of the room with garlic
hanging from it. If you look above it on the rafters, there is an
hourglass. Pick it up to complete the quest. You will get several precious
stones, and the Ring of Grey which has +5 to several abilities, including
Sneak, as well as Detect Life 50 ft. This will help you see where all
people are, therefore making it easier to avoid detection.
Hint:
Skeleton Key: Once you are level 10, you can do the Weird Shrines. This
shrine gives you a lockpick key that never breaks and sets your Security
to "Expert". To get it, you must go to Leyawiin south of
Imperial City. Then, travel north using the right road (that does not lead
to Bravil). You will find a shrine called Nocturne, where there will be
some people praying. Go up and activate the shrine. The statue will talk
about some thieves who stole her eye. From here you should be able to get
it on your own. However if you are having some trouble, go back to
Leyawiin and talk to the guard. He will tell you about Webaa-Na. You may
have have encountered him before if you did the quest to become a
knight-errant. Talk to both Webaa-Na and his friend. They will admit
nothing. Walk away and in a little while they will start talking about
trolls or something. They will stop because you are in the room. Hide and
listen to them talk about it. Once you have heard them talking, they will
tell you the location of the eye. It is in a cave. Go to the cave,
retrieve the eye, and go back to the Nocturne Shrine. You will get the
Skeleton Key, which greatly helps lockpicking because it does not break.
Hint:
Stat boost: If you complete all fifteen of the Daedric quests, the final
prize is a major stat boost. You can choose any of the three major skill
sets; Combat, Guile, or Magic. Each gives you a 10 point permanent boost
to the related stats and some of the related skills. It is extremely worth
it considering all the other good items you will get while doing the
Daedric quests. You can activate up to 14 at once if you are at a high
enough level. The final quest requires level 21+, and you must have
completed all of the other Daedric quests.
Get a Sigil Stone of your
choice and either an already enchanted item or regular item. Enchant the
item with a Sigil Stone. Then, use the "Duplicate items" glitch
on it to get a permanent stat boost to whatever the item was meant to
increase. Repeat this with the same or different enchantment to
continuously get stat boosts in that category. You can then sell the extra
copies for extra gold. Note: Do not try to duplicate more than 250 copies
of an item or the game will freeze.
Hint:
Enemy and item levels: Every enemy outside the cities and some inside will level as
you level. For example, if your at level 10 and are fighting Boars outside
the city, when you reach level 15 you will be fighting a Troll. The same
goes for missions such the Forlorn Watchman. If you do the quest at level
10, you will fight Ghosts on the ship. If you do it at level 20, you will
fight Wraiths. Do not waste time trying to level up just to beat one
opponent in a quest because they could be set to always be three levels
above you. This same style of progression also works with armor and
weapons:
Note: The armor and weapons
usually do not appear at traders until you are two levels above them,
sometimes longer. Also, any "secret" weapons such as the Umbra
and the NPCs with them or wearing the "secret" armor are level
locked. They will not get any more difficult because usually their levels
are already about 22 t o30. However, as you become better with a blade (in
the Umbra's case), the better the attack will be.
Hint:
Easy house: Go to the city of Anvil and make your way to the inn. Inside is
a man whose name starts with a "B". He is selling his
grandfather's old manor. You can purchase it if you have 5,000 gold, which
is very cheap considering that most houses are 15,000 gold and are not as
good. The house (at first) is ugly and haunted. However, after completing
the quick quest the house will be fixed up without any additional payment.
Hint:
Easy gold: Go to the Mages Guild in Chorrol. Once inside, join the guild
if you have not already. Now, look around. There is a display case table
either hard or very hard on the first floor that has what looks like a
glowing white dot inside. Break into that display case. Because you are
already in the Mages Guild you can take whatever you want. Take the
glowing white dot. It is a flawless diamond worth 100 gold with a weight
of 0.1. Use the "Duplicate item" glitch on it until you have as
many as you wish to sell. If you have any strength at all, you will be
able to carry around 50,000 gold worth at least. Go to any jewelry or
weapons shop and sell them. You can have around 100,000 gold in about ten
minutes. Note: Make sure not to sell your last diamond, as you may not be
able to buy it back to get more money.
Hint:
Easy items: Go into any store, but do not break in. Find a location where
it is dark enough so that when you crouch down, the eye becomes see
through. Then, find items laying around the store (weapons and armor shop)
and punch them into the dark corner. Crouch down and pick it up
undetected. This is usefull for advancing in the Theives Guild.
If you try and kill important
people (for example, counts and leaders of guilds), instead of dying they
will become unconscious. There is a way to use this to your advantage.
Find someone important in the game. Try to kill that person in one shot (a
power attack with a sword is recommended). They will fall unconscious.
Once they are down, immediately go into sneak mode and keep pressing A
while aiming at them to try to steal from them. Eventually it will work.
Note: Press A as fast as possible because if you do it while they
are getting up you can get caught. You will have no bounty on your head
and no one disliking you any more than they did before.
After buying the house in
Skingrad, go to the top floor. In the room will be a deer mantle. Jump on
top of the mantle, then jump again onto the loft design in the back
corner. You will find an old note that has a riddle on it which leads to a
treasure.
Hint:
Endless health: Use the "Duplicate items" glitch on a potion of
strong health (to get 90 potions). Repeat the duplication to get the
desired amount of potions. Open your inventory and go to the strong potion
of health. Press Y to quick link it to one of the Analog-stick
directions. When you are low on health, just tap the quick link direction
to use a potion. When running low on health potions, repeat the
duplication process.
Hint:
Avoid becoming over-encumbered: An easy way to lose weight to avoid being over-encumbered is to
make potions.
Hint:
Knock man off roof: Go to Anvil light house. It can be fast traveled. A man named
Ulfgar Fog-Eye should be waiting at the top. If he is not there, wait a
few hours. You can knock him unconscious off the roof over the Iron Gate
surrounding the area. He will only fight you the first time you attack him
and knock him unconscious. After that, he willingly lets you beat him
unconscious. On the first fight he will run away when he is near
unconsciousness. However after you finish him off, he will not try to
escape again. He is fairly easy to defeat in the first fight and is good
training because he does not fight back after he is first knocked
unconscious. This may require a few attempts, but try to get him close to
the gate just before the finishing blow, where he is knocked a few feet
back. He will not call the guards unless during the first fight, when he
attempts to retreat, you allow him go outside the lighthouse.
Hint:
Escaping from jail: To do this you must have a very high rank in Stealth. When in
jail, walk to the jail door. Duck and wait for the guard to pass you. As
he passes and the eye turns transparent, pickpocket him and take the key.
Note:The guard may notice and attack you sometimes when not done
correctly.
Commit a crime and choose
"Go to jail". When in jail, go to the jail door and wait for the
guard to walk by. If you are skilled enough, you can take the key from him
and break out. If he notices, he will open the door and start hitting you
with a silver mace. This is your chance to kill him with your fists. Then,
take the silver mace and whatever else he has. Go out the door he left
open. You can now have some fun by either trying to find the evidence
chest, getting your items, then trying to break out, or you can just run
around and kill guards. This can help with your stats, but can also make
every one hate you.
Hint:
Launch items from chair: Take a large item and set it on a chair. Then, sit in the
chair. You will launch the item across the room. Try this watermelons.
Hint:
Make stolen items authentic: When you steal items, most of the merchants will not buy them.
Use the following trick to authenticate them. Get in the jail and escape.
Take your items authenticated or pay for your days in jail and you will
have the items authenticated again.
Hint:
Skip the Persuade/Bribe mini game: To skip this annoying and expensive game, go to the Arcane
University or Frost Crag Spire (if you have the download) and make a Charm
spell. Set the Magnatude to 100 and the Duration only 2 seconds. This will
make even the most hateful person in the game have a disposition of about
73 at the lowest, and you will never have to bribe again.
Hint:
People switch beds: Wait near in a place where there are more than one person is
sleeping. They will all get up at the same time and may switch beds with
each other. They might even walk down to another floor or to the other
side of the room just to go to another bed.
Hint:
People sleep on top of dead bodies: Go to where someone is sleeping and there are more people in
the room. Kill him without being seen. Someone else may sleep in the bed
they died in after awhile. You can keep doing this repeatedly until no
more more people are alive. You will have a pile of bodies on a bed. This
works better if the bed is against the wall.
Hint:
Reducing pauses: The game uses the hard drive extensively to cache (copy and
reuse) game data. This is done to optimize all loading the game does. It
has been found in rare cases on some Xbox 360s that the cached data can
get overly fragmented. This exhibits itself by the game taking a long time
to load anything from menus, dialogue, sounds, objects, levels, and more.
To solve this problem, reset your Xbox and hold A as the game is
booting. If any button is held while the game is loading, it will clear
its hard drive cache and create a new one. Once you see the Bethesda
Softworks logo video, the game is already loaded, and the cache should
have been cleared. Note: This does not effect your game in any way other
than loading. You will not lose any saved data.
Glitch:
Note: Since the game's original release, there was an Xbox Live
update for The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. If you wish to use the
glitches, do not download it. It patches a lot of glitches, including the
"Duplicate items" and "Unlimited gold" type glitches.
Glitch:
Duplicate items: Equip any set of arrows. Draw your bow back. While it is drawn
back, press B to go to your inventory screen. Select any other set
of arrows you own and press A(2). Find an item to be duplicated and
drop it. Return to your weapons screen and drop any set of arrows.
Equip a bow and a quiver of
arrows. Hold the arrow back. As you are holding it back, press B to
go to your inventory screen. Select the arrows that you are using and go
to the item to be duplicated. Press X to drop the item and leave
the equipment screen and resume the game. The item that you dropped will
be duplicated. You can pick up all the duplicates and use or sell them.
The amount of copies of an item you make depends on how many arrows you
have equipped. For example, 10 arrows allows 10 copies. This works with
most, but not all, items or weapons.
Get a bow and a decent amount
of arrows (50 to 70). Equip them. Draw the bow back without firing. Press B
and go to your inventory. Select your arrow set twice. Go to the item to
be duplicated and drop it. Note The amount of arrows you have determines
the number of items you can duplicate.
Use a melee weapon. Swing you
weapon and in mid swing press B. Go to your arrows and equip them
twice. Then, go to the item you wish to duplicate and drop it. Resume game
play and it will be duplicated.
Note: If you have used this
glitch to various items that you do not need and have left them laying
around, you may experience slow gameplay. To solve this problem, pick up
any of the items you tested with and drop them all together. All of the
items will be stacked into one item. For example, pick up 30 shirts drop
them all together to create one shirt that is described as ''Shirt(30)''.
Glitch:
Duplicate items and flying paint brushes after game update: In order to do this you must do the following things. Before
you update the game you must save 100 times with 100 duplicated items that
are either armor, weapons, potions, or ingredients. Then, place 15 paint
brushes in the air and stack them on top of other, but space them so that
you can stand on them. You must not use the duplicated items, only the
original. After you do that, stand on the tallest one and save 100 times
on it. Turn off the Xbox 360. Turn it back on, then update the game and
load the saved file. You should be still floating in the air with the
paint brushes. The copied items should also be there. If they are, you can
use the glitches. You cannot do this if you already updated the game
before doing this.
Glitch:
Permanent enchantment: Use the following trick for duplication or a permanent
enchantment. You can duplicate a drop-able item, and if that item is
equipable with constant effect enchantments you can make them permanent.
However, the item once made permanent cannot be re-equipped . But each
enchanted item is different. You can use the duplication glitch to make as
many as you desired, then sell them. Use the "Duplicate items"
cheat with a bow an arrows to duplicate the items to make permanent. Equip
one of the items you want to make permanent. There must be an unequipped
version still in your inventory for this to work. Use the "Duplicate
items" glitch again. However, drop the unequipped version of the item
you have equipped and want to make permanent. The equipped one and the
others will drop and you will never be able to equip that item again.
However if you check your stats the items bonuses will be permanent. You
can duplicate anything that can be dropped, including Grand Soul Gems with
Grand Souls captured.
Note: This glitch only works
with wearable items. Take any wearable item with a magical enchantment
that you wish to make permanent and duplicate it twice so that you have
two of that item. Pick up the item and equip one. While you are wearing
that item, duplicate the one you are not wearing by at least four. Note:
the number of arrows used determines how many copies are made. Both items
will drop on the ground in stacks of two. You are now no longer wearing
that item, yet you still have its effects. Note: These effects are
permanent. Do not attempt this with any item with an effect you may want
to remove later, such as Water Walking, Night Eye, etc.
Glitch:
Super character: There are three steps to get a super powerful character. You
can even do this at the begining of the game. First, go into an Oblivion
Gate and go to the top. Save the game in front if the Sigil Stone. Keep
picking up the stone until you get one with Fortify Strength 7 points.
Duplicate the stone eight times. If you have a rare piece of armor (for
example, the Umbra Ebony) and do not want to get rid of it, duplicate
every piece twice and take one set of armor. then, enchant a necklace or
amulet, two rings, and a full set of clothing or armor (such as the Umbra
Ebony as mentioned earlier) with the Sigil Stones that fortify strength.
Your character should be very powerful and attacks against you should be
very weak. However, you must have the armor equipped for this to work.
Glitch:
Invincibility: Make sure you are far enough in the game so you can get a Sigil
Stone from a tower. Save the game before taking the Sigil Stone, then take
it. Check if it is 20% Defense On Self . If it is not, load the game you
just saved and keep doing the steps until you get a 20% Defense On Self
Sigil Stone. Then, do the "Duplicate item" glitch on it five
times and use it on five pieces of armor. If done correctly you should be
invincible to weapon damage. Note: This can be done with 20% magic
defense. Advantages including being able to stand in front of an enemy and
let him hit you; your Armor skill will increase. If your armor gets
damaged, just repair it to increase your Armorer skill. - It is also much
easier to complete the Imperial City Arena.
Get two sets of armor (armor,
helm, gloves, greaves, rings, amulets, etc.). Use the "Non-random
Sigil Stone" hint until you have a 10% Shield Sigil Stone. Then, find
another Oblivion Gate and get a Sigil Stone with Magic Defense of 10% or
more. Use a duplicate item glitch to make about sixteen of each Sigil
Stone. Enchant one set of armor with the Shield stone, then the other set
with the Magic Defense stone. Then use the "Permanent
enchantment" glitch to get a 100% shield (which blocks melee damage)
and 100% Magic Defense (which blocks magic damage) to become almost
invincible. If you get cast with a weakness to elements skill you can get
damaged. You can also do this with any other effects desired, such as
Chameleon.
Glitch:
Unlimited gold: Go to the Talos Plaza District of the Imperial City. Find a
house owned by a men named Dorian (Dorian's House) in the southeast
section of the district. Break into his house and find him. When he tells
you to leave, kill him. To loot him, do not press X to take all.
Instead, take each item individually, finishing with the gold, which will
not run out once it hits 8 pieces. Just keep selecting the gold he is
carrying and keep pressing A as usual. Do this repeatedly, and the
number of gold pieces remaining will freeze when it gets down to 8 gold
pieces. It will not go any lower, but will just keep giving you as much
gold as desired. Note: After you break in and he tells you to get out,
talk to him. Go to "Persuade" and bribe him a lot. After that,
kill him. He will now have more money to loot, which makes it easier to
get more faster.
Note: To get unlimited gold
from Dorian easier, use the following trick. First, bribe him until you
cannot do so anymore. Then, hit him with your weakest weapon. preferably
your fists. Then, quickly hold block and talk to yield to him. Because he
is your friend, he will stop fighting. Then, talk to him again. His
relationship will have dropped because you hit him, allowing you to bribe
him more. Make sure you do not hit him too much or he will run away. Once
his health gets low, the guards will probably charge you. After spending
your time or paying them, go back to his house. Notice that his health is
still low from your attacks. Wait exactly 24 hours and his health will be
reset. repeat the entire process to get the desired amount of gold. Once
you select the money from his pocket it will not go away, leaving you with
unlimited money.
Visit the Talos Plaza in the
Imperial District and find Dorian in his house. Talk to him and select the
Speechcraft icon to learn that he likes-boast and coerce and
dislikes-admire and joke. Instead of making him like you, make him hate
you. Bribe him until around 60, then make him hate you. Keep repeating
this as long as your patience lasts. Note: The more you do this, the
quicker it will be to increase your money. Kill him but do not let him
run, etc. or he will contact the guards. Search him and take all his
possessions except for his money. Exit the search screen and re-enter it.
Then, keep pressing A on his money. You will be allowed to retake
it without it disappearing.
Go to Imperial City Talos
Plaza. To the left of the Septim Hotel is a house belonging to Dorian. Go
inside. He will probably be to the right of the staircase. Walk up to him,
and bribe him as much as you can, giving him as much gold as possible.
Then, kill him. Be careful, because he will run when close to death. Once
he is dead, pick up each item individually by pressing A. Make sure
to pick up his gold last. When you do, keep pressing A on it and
you should get plenty of gold.
This trick allows you to earn
free money extremely fast. Go to Kvatch where all the citizens are. While
on horseback, talk to the female Orc and sell her your equipped sword. The
message "You cannot unequip this item" will appear, but it will
still give you the money. You can do this as many times as desired for 200
gp each time. This only works with your sword, and any other items will be
sold as usual.
After becoming a vampire in
the Dark Brotherhood quest line, proceed to complete the "Cure For
Vampirism" quest. After giving the Counts' wife the potion, he will
want to wait a day before he will talk to you again. After that day, when
you talk to him he will reward you with 500 gold. However, you can keep
talking to him and select "Reward" each time. You will be given
500 gold each time you talk to him, even if you leave and come back.
However, when you do go back make sure you select his room lock and bribe
him fully so that the guards do not get called.
After you have completed the
vampire quest, talk to Count Hassildor of Skingrad. When it is time to ask
for your reward, he will give you a hefty 10,000 gp. If you continue to
ask the Count for the reward, he will continue to give you your reward.
Repeat this many times as desired.
Note: You must have a horse
and an expensive weapon, the more expensive the better. Get on your horse
and fast travel to Kavcth. Once there, equip your most expensive weapon
and get on your horse. Travel until you find a little camp on the road to
Kavtch. Talk to the Orc merchant while on your horse. Barter with her and
go to where you can sell items to her. Once there, you can sell your most
expensive weapon and keep selling it repeatedly. It will never disappear,
and you can get as much money as desired.
When you become a vampire,
seek the Mages Guild help in the Arcane University. You are sent to
Skingard to talk to the count. The count tells you who to seek out in
order to get the cure. Complete this mission and the count will tell you
to return in a day The cure is for his wife. She dies after she takes it.
After a day he gives you a reward. In the conversation window that
appears, select the reward Tab once it goes black, indicating that you
have used it. Rapidly tap A repeatedly and he will keep giving you
gold. Note: you must complete this task before the mage's second or third
task because after that the Count of Skingard will not talk to you.
A woman will approach you in
the Imperial City and ask you to see a man. Go to this house. He will tell
you that he and his group are vampire hunters. Follow the the Virtuous
Order quest line. You will find out the man you are hunting is not a
vampire. Do not kill him. Talk to him and he will say that the man that
sent you is actually the vampire. Go to the bookstore. The man will tell
you about a cave. Travel there and wipe out all the vampires. Take their
vampire dust. Once you have killed the main vampire, return to the
Imperial City. You will be rewarded with a ring, but he also tells you
that the order will compensate you for every vampire that you kill. All
you need for proof is vampire dust. Use the "Duplicate items"
glitch on the vampire dust to get as many as desired. Keep talking to the
man about vampires and he will keep rewarding you as long as you have
enough vampire dust. This results in 250 gold for each vampire dust you
have.
Use the "Duplicate
items" glitch inside a store. Make sure that the item you duplicate
is worth alot. Sell all but one of the item that was duplicated then
repeat the process as many times as desired. It is possible to make up to
50,000 gold in a few minutes.
This trick requires a Black
Bow, a Bow, and two different kinds of Bows (for example Steel and Iron).
Also the "Knight of the White Stallion" must have been
successfully completed by talking to the male in the castle of Leyawijn).
After completing the "Knight of the White Stallion" mission, you
can sell your Black Bow to the male in the castle of Leyawijn. He is one
of the court. Every bow will give you 100 gold. Save your game because if
you hit the male by accident the guards will be all over you. Stand next
to the male so that you can speak with him. Use the "Duplicate
items" glitch to duplicate your bow next to the male (when he is
sitting in his throne). Pick up every bow that you have (the more arrows
the more bows). When he says that you are over numbered you can continue
picking up more bows. After picking up every bow, throw one on the ground
(to make sure you do not sell all of your bows). Speak with the male and
sell your bows. When you choose one time for yes, you can continue by
pressing A. It is possible to sell 125 bows for 12,500 gold in five
minutes. The more arrows you use to duplicate, the more bows will drop.
Note: Do not use too many or the game will freeze.
Buy a horse from anyone at
Cyrodils Stables. The stables are located outside of any town. The marker
looks like a cup. When you buy a horse, fast travel to the city of Kvatch
and not to the Oblivion gate to the marker below that. Get off your horse
and equip your most valuable weapon. Then, get back on the horse. Ride the
horse and look to your left until you see an Orc with little black curls.
Talk to her. Go to "Sell Items". She should have 200 gold,
depending on your Mercantile. If your Mercantile is high, she will have
700 gold. Sell your equipped weapon repeatedly to get 700 gold each time.
You gain up to 5,000 gold in five minutes.
Quick travel to the Talos
Plaza District of the Imperial City. Walk towards the statue in the
middle. Turn right and pass under the archway. Go into the first house on
the left (Dorian's house). Run in quickly and kill Dorian, as he will run
outside to alert the guards. Search his corpse and you will find that he
has an assortment of clothing, Dorian's House Key, and a random amount of
gold. Select the gold and press A. The amount will decrease
slightly but will still remain. You can continue pressing A for as
long as desired. Do not press X to take all or the game will
freeze.
Glitch:
Unlimited steel arrows: Go to Bazur gro-Gharz's house in Cheydinhal. He sleeps about 5
a.m. to 6 a.m. Kill him while he is sleeping. Then, check his body. To get
unlimited arrows you must take the arrows first, then keep taking them in
quantities of twenty. The game will glitch and you will have unlimited
arrows.
Glitch:
Stray arrows: Enter the basement of the Fighters Guild in Chorrol. Stand in
front of the dummy and pull back an arrow. It will appear to be
transparent. When you let go it will shoot in a random direction. This
effect does not disappear unless you reload your game or save and load.
Glitch:
Unlimited lockpicks: Note: This will work in the patched version of the game. This
trick requires any weapon of your choice (for example, an Iron War Axe).
Select and equip your weapon. Duck swing, but before the attack animation
is over, enter your inventory and select any type of arrows (no more than
200). Then, drop the item of choice. Note that some items cannot be
duplicated.
Glitch:
Clavius Vile quest: When you play the Daedric quest "Clavius Vile" and
you either give the Umbrea sword back or to Vile, the system sometimes
freezes as soon as you make your choice. To counter this, fast travel
anywhere, but do not move. After the hound is done talking, fast travel
again, but do not move. After the second fast travel, the quest should be
completed and you can continue. This may require a few attempts, but it
should work.
To do the Deadric quest (Clavius
Vile), you must be level 20. In the quest you must go to a ruin called
Vindasel that is located southwest of the Imperial City's waterfront
district and kill a girl named Umbra and retrieve a sword called the Umbra
sword. If you have obtained the sword before the quest, you can still
complete it even if you are not at level 20. If you talk to the statue
after leaving its offering, you will get a journal entry stating that you
must be level 20 to begin the quest. However if you have the sword with
you, another entry will appear, stating that you have the Umbra sword and
you should go back to the shrine and give it to Clavicus Vile. After you
give him the sword, he will reward you with an enchanted helmet called the
Masque Of Clavicus Vile.
Glitch:
Nightmare Darkly quest: Umbra: For this to work you will need to have retrieved Umbra's Sword
and assign it to a ready-use slot. Speak will the female Argonian at the
Bravil Mages Guild to receive the "Nightmare Darkly" quest. When
you begin the quest you will be stripped of your entire inventory and
cannot defend yourself. However when you enter the Test Of Resolve you
will be presented with a few weaker weapons in the chest to the left.
Instead, use the ready-use slot to equip Umbra. You will be able to easily
kill the minotaurs.
Glitch:
Main quest: This trick requires ten to fifteen paintbrushes. they can be
found anywhere in the game, particularly in boxes, shelves, etc. You can
use this glitch even if you have not started the main quest yet. Once you
acquire the of paintbrushes, go in front of the Temple Of The One in the
Imperial City Temple District. Climb you way to the top using the
"Floating paintbrushes" glitch. Once you are close to the top,
jump on the roof. You will go through, landing inside The Temple Of The
One. You can see everybody else but they cannot see you. Walk close to
where the door would be if you were inside it normally. You will see the
top half of the same door you are in front of. Select it to enter the real
interior of The Temple Of The One. Notice the hole in the ceiling where
the light comes down. You will see a red sky. Walk outside and and two
Oblivion Gates will be opened. Your quest will be updated, stating that
Dagon is here and that you should talk to Martin. Even if you are not
close to completing the main quest this glitch will still work. Go inside
both of the Oblivion Gates and get the Sigil Stones. Later you will end up
crossing over Dagon. Kill him then talk to Martin in the Cloud Ruler
temple.
Glitch:
Keep bound armor or weapons: First, make a spell that disintegrate armor and weapon on self.
Alternately, make one of each -- then any spell that bounds armour and
weapons. Unequip all armor and weapons. Then, bound helmet then damage it
using the spell Disintegrate Armor. After that, repair it then equip
another item in its place. Equip a normal helmet or hood, then drop the
bound helmet after the time for the bound helmet runs out. Pick it back up
and it is yours to keep. The same thing can be done with any bound item.
For example, bound axe, disintegrate weapon, repair it and equip any hand
weapon, then drop the bound axe. The better your Conjuration skill, the
more powerful you armor or weapon will be.
Glitch:
Unnamed sword: Use the ''Duplicate items'' glitch on a paint brush. After
getting at least twenty paintbrushes, go outside of ''A Fighting Chance''
in the Imperial City market district at midnight. Drop a paintbrush.
Notice that it will float. Get on top of the brush and repeat the process
to form a set of stairs. After you get high enough to reach the top of the
Fighting Chance store, get on top of the building. You will see a chest
that is locked. The lockpick level is very difficult. Lockpick it and look
inside to find an odd sword without a name. The sword has no attack and
breaks easily. It cannot be sold.
Glitch:
Walk through wall: In Imperial City waterfront, you can walk through a wall and
run down it from one side to another. You can see out, but no one can see
in.
Glitch:
Get behind Arena gate: Get into third person view in the Arena. Go left when the gate
drops and jump on the ledge where the other locked gate is, While pointing
toward the gap look left and right a few times to wiggle through the gap
to get behind the gate. You cannot get hit and can just conjure skeletons
to do all the work. Do the same thing to get out.
Glitch:
Berserk skulls: At the beginning of the game you must make your way through a
series of caves. Toward the end of those caves (just before you get
outside), there will be some ropes hanging from the ceiling with four
skulls attached to them. Shoot the far top and far right skull with your
bow. This should make that line of skulls go berserk.
Glitch:
Staying in jail forever: Note: Save your game before attempting this. Do something bad
so that the guards will go after you. When they catch you, chose go to
jail. While in jail, stand next to the cell door while in sneak/crouch
mode. The guard should walk by after a few minutes. When he does, press A
to pickpocket him. Keep stealing from him until he catches you. This time
the guard will not ask you to go to jail, pay the fine, etc. He will just
try to kill you. The guard however cannot open the cell door. He will just
keep running toward you, but cannot do anything. You cannot hurt him
because you cannot punch through the cell door. If you go to your bed and
select "Sleep your sentence", it will say that you cannot
because enemies are nearby. You are now stuck in jail forever, or until
you load another game.
Glitch:
Lock pick: When picking a lock, there is a way to get it to automatically
picked virtually every time, regardless of the lock's difficulty. Do the
very first spring manually. Once it is in place, do the following. As you
press the Analog-stick to go to the next spring, press X
button a split second afterwards. The arrow should be in between the first
and second springs as you press X. If done correctly, you will get
the lock open on the very first try.
Glitch:
Floating paintbrushes: There are paintbrushes stored in random containers at various
locations. If you take one out and drop it, it will not fall. It will just
float in the location you were looking at when you dropped it. You can
drop them in sets of two or more and use them as steps to reach high
places. You can also use them as barriers between you and enemies.
Glitch:
Entering Arcane University faster: Get about five or six paintbrushes, then go directly outside
the Arcane University wall. Keep using the paintbrushes like stepping
stones until you get over the wall. Once inside you can go anywhere but in
the lobby. If you want to finish the mage quest you must do the
recommendations. You will need your mages guild key to get into the places
inside.
Glitch:
Sit on air: When Lucien Luchance is dead and the woman wants you to ask her
about the Night Mother between 12:00 and 3:00, sit and wait until then.
There is a bench near her. Sit there, and at the required time talk to her
while you are sitting. You will be teleported to Bravil. If you go into
third person mode, after she talks to you you should be sitting without
anything underneath. When the others enter the crypt, press A to
get up and follow.
Glitch:
Cannot fast travel anywhere: Make sure you are a part of the Thieves Guild first. This
glitch will be easier to undo if you save your game beforehand so that it
can be reloaded. Do something to where a guard chases you. When he
confronts you, select "Resist Arrest". Run to any person in the
Thieves Guild that can take your bounty away. When you get to that person,
make sure that the guards are still by you and are chasing you. Before the
guards can get to you, talk to that thief and select the "Take Off My
Bounty" option. After he takes it off, the guards will still be
chasing you. Go up to a guard, hold Block, and select
"Talk" to say that you surrender. This is in the game because if
you hurt a friend and he starts hitting you, it allows you to tell the
friend that you are sorry and he will stop. The guard will stop hitting
you. Go to your map and try to fast travel anywhere. The game will say you
cannot because guards are chasing you.
Glitch:
Bonuses from quest items retained: There is a mission in the mage's guild that requires you to
enter a mage's dream name "Through A Nightmare, Darkly" for
Henantier. As soon as you enter, the text states that you lost all your
items but will keep your skill levels. However if you have a quest item
such as the Ring of the Vipereye or Boots of Springheel Jack, you will
keep the bonuses, even after you get out of the dream and get your items
back. The items will not be equipped but the skill bonus will still be
there. You cannot re-equip the items, but you can equip other rings or
boots and get their bonuses as well.
Glitch:
Easy block experience: After using the "Invincibility" glitch, join the
arena. Enter a fight and hold Block with tape for an hour and a
half. Check the game occasionally during this time for when it levels up
from Journeymen to Apprentice, etc. because it will pause. You will gain
experience for block and whatever weight armor you are wearing (light or
heavy). Because of the "Invincibility" glitch you will not be
harmed by your opponents blows.
Glitch:
Quest items remain after theft: If you steal a quest item, for example the Ahdarji's Heirloom
(a ring of a countess), and get caught, you will lose all the stolen items
except for item that is the whole because quest items cannot be taken out
of your inventory except to further the quest.
Glitch:
Immortal bodyguard: First go to the Mages Guild and get the quest where you have to
save a mage by the name of Erthor. Go to the cave where he is located.
Fight your way through the zombies until you reach Erthor. Talk to him and
tell him that you saved him. He will thank you and will let you have
anything of his. First, tell him to follow you. Then, go to the back to
the little cave where you found him. You will find a treasure chest with
some gold inside. Take it while he is watching you. He will say that you
have violated the Mages code. Go back to where you got the mission from
and talk to the Mage that told you to do this. She will say that you must
go to the Arcane University. That means you cannot complete the quest.
Erthor is with you until you make amends and complete the quest. Do not do
the Mages Guild quest, and you will have an immortal bodyguard. When he
dies it will only say that he is unconscious. He will return to life in a
short amount of time. This is useful when closing Oblivion Gates. Note:
When you do this and do not make amends, you cannot finish the Mages Guild
quest.
Glitch:
Leave level boundary: Use the following trick to get outside the boundary in
FrostFire Glade. When do the quest Tears of the Savior (finding Garridans
Tears), go to where you must put the refined frost salts on the door (in
the cave). Go through the door and go to your right. Go up the steep slope
on the left side of the tree sitting in between two rocks. Keep tapping Y
on the left side of the second rock (on the left side of the tree). Once
you move a certain distance you will stop jumping. However if you quickly
pull Away then Forward again (you may have to do this
multiple times) you will eventually jump and do a little slide and go
further up the slope, Do this multiple times while adjusting your
character accordingly. You will eventually slide through a gap between the
big rock and two little stones. You will then be outside the level. Be
careful about dropping down the second level of the outside map, as you
will not fall, but if you walk forward toi quickly it is a 90 degree
downward angle. Try walking sideways slowly and you will eventually get
down as if you are walking on a slant.
Glitch:
Imperial City: Jump on top of buildings: You must have your Acrobatics up to where you can roll around
(Journeyman). Go to the Imperial City. Go to any of the gates leading to
the Imperial Palace (for example, the Taloz Plaza, the Market District,
etc.). Just before the gates, there is a gap in the stone along the
sidewalk that leads down to some water. Jump up on the stone and roll
across the gap, but do not turn around. Just pull back and back flip back
over the gap. Keep rolling back and forth and eventually you will shoot up
in the air as you roll forward. You can control yourself up on the roofs
for the buildings. This may take some time, but it works best if when you
roll forward you are moving toward the gate to the palace.
Please
select the first letter of the game's title below. If the word
"The" appears at the start of a title, ignore it and search for
the second word in the title:
