Play
as Ludo: If you play as Valens in his quest, your friend Ludo is playable
on your school.
Play
as Valens: When you complete the game as Ursula and begin a new game, Urlan
is replaced by Valens.
To make the Valens quest a lot
easier, level up Ludo and save all of his job points until you have 40 then
get Upward Slash. This move does the most damage of any direct attack,
causes extreme bleeding that is capable of doing up to 50 damage a turn
(including half turns where someone just passes), and it can also attack at
a diagonal-like spear attack. Unfortunately Ludo leaves your party somewhere
in the Windward Steppes and you have to fight him later.
Hint:
Getting good items: Walk the beach of Imperia in the early morning to find high level
equipment and weapons. Stand on the beach and press A. If done
correctly, you should see a window with a treasure chest on it, and a
message telling you that it is searching. There is no limit to how much you
can find; you can acquire a lot of items if you have the time.
When you kill somebody out of
the dueling ring, a coffin will appear where they died. You can attack it to
get all of that person's items. Note: This will not work in a dueling ring.
In The Southern Expanse, go to
the coastline and press A. You will see a window appear that will
look for treasure. This is a great way to get items.
Hint:
Easy money: To get more Dinars, join the tournament, Break The Bank in The
Wandering Soul at The Wastes at Steppes. There are a lot of treasure chests
that contain about 1,000 to 2,000 Dinars. Moreover, the entrance fee is
free. Join this tournament to get more Dinars.
Hint:
Free level 28 characters: Enable the "Higher level enemies" code. This also
results in higher level recruits. Enable the code several times, then leave
the town you are in so that you are be able to re-enter by walling in. Make
sure at least one recruit is at level 28. If not, repeat the code. Go to
Trikata in Imperia and find the channeler Maille, and the Murmillo Eldred.
Make sure you have the required amount of popularity points. They should
both only be temporary recruits. Lose enough Dinars so you do not have
enough to recruit them. Press A on either one of them, and it should
say "Do Not Recruit". Press A again and you will get keep
them. You can also do this trick with Kaethe in Syrna, and Madair and Toulta
in Cro Beska.
Hint:
Caltha: Secret arena: On the right side of Caltha is a secret arena (just before the
bridge) that only appears at certain times.
Hint:
Imperia: Secret arena: There is a secret arena on the beaches of Imperia. To find it,
walk around on the beach and press A as if treasure hunting.
Hint:
Imperia: Hidden encounter: A hidden Imperia encounter can be fought by running around
through Imperia at night. On the road leading down to the beach between
Caltha and Cro Beska, you will encounter Mutuus walking alone. Get in his
way and he will tell you to get out of his way. Get in his way again and he
will tell you that this is your final warning. Get in his way a third time
and he will tell you that he is going to teach you a lesson. . Before you
get in Mutuus' way for the third time, make sure to save the game; any death
during this encounter is permanent. You will be taken to a wilderness
encounter screen where you will have to fight five Imperials, ranging from
Centurions to Murmillos, Peltasts, Samnites and Secutors (any mixture
thereof, the selection is random and different every time). Choose your
fighters based on countering Mutuus' crew and you will succeed. Your reward
is a large amount of experience points.
Hint:
Nordagh: Hidden encounter: A hidden Nordagh encounter can be fought by running around
through Nordagh at night. You will encounter Galverg at night on the road
between Orrin and Roanor. Get in his way three times. Note: Save before the
third time. Your opponents will vary but will always include Galverg, who is
very strong, has a counterattack skill, and a very high defense. When lining
up your fighters, make sure to select Zod the bear and a Peltast (or
Gungnir). Place them opposite from Galverg with the bear in front and the
Peltast or Gungnir behind the bear. It will take Galverg two rounds to close
for melee. Use both turns to throw spears into him from afar. He will be
down up to one half of his hit points before he takes the first swing at
Zod. Backstabs are also very effective with Galverg. Spear throws are
recommended, and when he arrives and hits Zod have Zod hit Galverg with the
Swipe attack, petrifying him. Your reward for completing this wilderness
battle is a large amount of experience points.
Hint:
Southern Expanse: Secret arena: In the Southern Expanse, there is a secret arena with several
leagues you can attempt. If you choose Hell Gate you will encounter an
endurance fight for Gladiators 18 and above. The first four fights consist
of four Summoners of the same realm; first air, earth, fire, then water. The
last fight is a Summoner named Sarenenutet (the same summoner you killed in
the Saraa Izel quest Mysterious Tablet). Kill him and you will receive some
interesting items that you will never find in any store. After completing
the fights, go to the far southeastern corner of the desert. You will
encounter Usus. He will tell you a small tale, then each warrior you
actually used to fight the Hell Gate league will each receive an attack
called Hell's Fury. This is an area affect attack that does massive damage,
killing nearby enemies instantly. To find this league, try running around at
night, pressing A (as if searching the beach). Note: You must be
standing still while pressing A to search.
Hint:
Sigi the Galdr optional quest: In the first region of Nordagh, speak to Xandl the weapon shop
owner in Mordare to hear about the missing witch, Sigi the Galdr. To find
her, walk around the area north of Roanor to get a random battle that has
Sigi surrounded by six Mongrel Shamen. Defeat the Shamen and return to
Mordare. Speak to Xandl once again. Sigi will give you the Signet Of The
Valkyrie and Xandl will give you 463 Dinars and two weapons, a Flamberge and
a Tschehouta.
Hint:
Death of a recruit: Recruiting warriors for your school is crucial to winning
battles. Be careful though; if a recruit dies in a random battle outside of
a town, he or she will be permanently dead. If they die inside a tournament
inside a town, they will be revived after the battle is over.
Hint:
Army of undead legionnaires: Start in Nordough. Get the Talisman Of Unlife and get the first
legionnaire. Then, go to a nearby town (The Pit) and expel them. Make sure
you do this after dark (when the moon is less in the shadow on the sundial
than the sun by a sliver). Save the game, then go back to the tombstone.
Recruit another and expel him at the school in Fluich. Next, recruit the
final one and recruit them all from The Pit. You must recruit all the same
name undead legionnaire except for the last one.
Hint:
Defeating the Dark God: Defeating the Dark God is tricky, especially when he has three
forms. When you are facing the knight attached to the god, use a high level
Summoner or undead Summoner with strong summons. You should also use Eiji
and her Long Shot moves and Vallens and Ursula. Have Eiji stay back and use
Long Shot. Have the Summoners use their strongest summons and have Ursula
and Vallens attack the knights. You will eventually win. In the face section
of the battle, the faces summon undead cats and wolves. It helps if you have
Ursula equip the Deaths Head weapon. Also use combos and you might inflict
instant death. Keep attacking the heads with Ursula and you will win. The
dragon is very difficult. Use Eiji's Long Shot attack and have a Summoner
summon strong summons. Do not attempt to get close or you will suffer an
instant death bite attack from the dragon. Use long range fighters (Gungirs,
Archers, and Summoners). If you have Eiji at level fifteen and have a strong
bow, you will win quickly.
This Boss has three forms. The
best way to defeat the Knights of the Dark Arcane is to enable the
"Remove equip limitations" code. Equip Ursula with the Death Heads
Club to fight them. They can kill your weak players easily, but use Eji, a
Summoner, or an Undead Summoner (or both) and another Archer or a long range
unit. Faces of the Dark Arcane are difficult, but you can use a similar
strategy as done with Knights of the Dark Arcane. Have Ursula use three or
more hit combo attacks on the faces, and do to Death Heads Club's effect.
They should die in one hit. The faces summon Carrion Wolves and Panthers;
kill the heads quickly if you do not want any of your prized warriors to be
lost. The Dark God is a dragon, and is extremely tough. Use ranged units and
summons on him to defeat him as fast possible, as he inflicts major damage.
Hint:
Random battles: Like all RPGs, gaining experience and Dinars (gold) is best
achieved by fighting random battles. Tournaments may give better results,
but most cost money to enter and in the beginning, you will be spending your
cash on weapon/armor upgrades and recruiting warriors. You may have to run
around for awhile outside of the towns, but there are enemies wandering
around out there.
Hint:
Winning points battle: To win a points battle get all gladiators close together, and
with a Peltast, use exploding javelins. Friendly fire also counts for your
points.
Hint:
Accessory cart: Accessories are an important part of your warrior's outfit. Find
the man who sells accessories who is standing by cart in the first area of
Nordagh, in between Orin and Roanor.
Hint:
Get Munio's gear for Valens early: First, the opponents that you are currently fighting in the game
must be at least level 22 or higher. Either level up your characters until
your opponents are that strong, or enable the "Higher level
enemies" code. Then, go to the Ononhaar Arena in the Windward Steppes
and enter the Middleweights Ghazan division. Check your opponents. Exit out
and continue doing this. Sooner or later, Valens will appear as an opponent
to your team, except that if he is level 22 or higher, there is a chance
that he will be wearing any combination of Munio's sword, shield, or armor
(the three best items for Valens). Do not get discouraged if you cannot seem
to find him. It may take up to forty five minutes of entering and exiting
the league to get him. When he does appear as an enemy, enter the battle and
kill Valens. When he dies and his body disappears, there is a chance that
his body will leave behind a chest. Inside, if you are lucky, is Munio's
items. If not, try again. Also, this same arena also features Urlan, Ludo,
Ursula, Urlanuber, Ludouber, Ursulauber, and Valensuber as enemies, along
with an undead legionnaire named Undead Melee.
Hint:
Christmas background music: Set the system date to December 24 or December 25. Select the
"Rogue Gallery" option, then "Background Music". You can
now select an option to hear Christmas music in the background.
