Glitch:
Bomb Da Base: Act 2 mission: No body 8-Ball: When you go to pick up 8-Ball and he hands you the sniper rifle,
equip it and shoot him in the head. You will lose the mission, but walk back
into the blue circle to restart. When 8-Ball comes back out again, he will
have no body, and just a head.
Glitch:
Chaperone mission: Get Maria in your bedroom: Take Maria to the rave as usual. Then, get out of the limo and
jump into the sports car that is parked outside the rave. When the police
arrive, Maria will get into the car with you. Drive her back to your hideout
in Portland and enter the garage. When you get out, Maria and you will fall
through the floor and land on your bed inside your hideout. The door is
closed. Make sure you have a gun, as the only way to get out is to shoot
Maria, which fails the mission.
Glitch:
Too many cars in garage: If you put too many cars in your garage, your file will try to
become corrupt. However the game stops this from happening. It will delete
most or all of the cars in your garage. There is no way get back the lost
cars.
Glitch:
Shoot at point blank range during rampage: On any rampage mission with the sniper rifle, you can jump down
to the street and shoot the targets at point blank range without them firing
back at you.
Glitch:
Enter subway station: If you jump off the subway, land on the stairs, and slide down,
you can get into the station, even if it is closed and barred.
Locations
Note: Button presses are
described in PlayStation2 version format. Use the equivalent button on the
Xbox controller when playing that version.
Portland:
Get to Staunton Island early:
Use the following trick to get to Staunton Island before the bridge is fixed
and before the subway is open. Go to the bridge to Staunton Island. Go past
where the blockage cones are located, to basically be on the bridge. Enable
the "Flying car" code, then the "Tank" code. Make sure
you are all the way back to get enough room to take off using the tank (as a
plane). Start firing the cannon backwards and accelerate. Keep firing the
cannon backwards, and just as you get to the edge where the bridge has been
broken, you will take off. Try and get back on the ground. If done correctly
you will now be on Staunton Island. Note: When you cross the bridge, the
"Welcome To Staunton Island" screen will appear to confirm
success. Note: You can use nearly any car, but the tank has a better ability
to fly higher.
Steal an Ambulance from Sweeney
Hospital. Go to the bridge and enable the "Better driving skills"
code. Drive your ambulance on the road towards the bridge and press L3
just before the road starts to dip down. If done correctly, you should make
it across, but your ambulance will probably tip over and explode. Make sure
you are out of the way, then run into Staunton Island.
Note: When on Staunton Island
you can not do any missions. When you die, you will be transported back to
the hospital in Portland.
You can fly over to Staunton
Island by enabling the "Tank" and "Flying car" codes
after dropping off 8 Ball. However, only activate the "Tank" code
when you have walked onto the broken bridge. You cannot save the game over
in Staunton Island, and if you die or get arrested you will be transported
back to Portland.
Enable the "Better driving
skills" and the "Flying car" code after you drop 8-Ball off
at the hideout. After you drop off Misty at the Luigis Sex Club 7, go to the
fire station and get the fire truck. Do not disable the codes. Instead, go
to the bridge and jump the gates. Drive off the bridge slowly until there is
a big shadow mark, then hit the gas. Once you start going in the air press
the Up for about one second, then release. Keep doing this
continuously. Once in Staunton Island you can easily go to the lift bridge
to go to Shoreside Vale, however the lift bridge is more difficult than the
Callahan Bridge.
Steal a Mafia Sentinel and go
the Callahan Bridge. Aim the Sentinel towards the break in the bridge and
floor it. The car will leap over the gap in the bridge.
Get a Banshee (one location is
in the glass-windowed building next to 8-Ball's Bomb Shop) and go to the
bridge that leads over to Staunton Island. Get on the edge of where the
bridge starts, and drive up past the obstacles. Enable the "Flying
car" code. Drive fast to get across the opening; start near the bottom
of where the bridge starts. When you approach the opening, press Up
to fly. Note: This must be timed correctly.
Portland:
Faster taxi:
Complete 100 taxi missions, (drop off 100 people), and a Red Faster Cabbie
will be unlocked at the taxi building in Portland (near the tunnel
entrance). Note: Drop off 100 people total, not at one time.
Portland:
Easy kills:
Start in your hideout, get the bat, and steal a car. Go on the walkway and
drive up to the steps near China Town. You can kill as many people as
desired and get easy money. Watch out for the cops and triads. Do not use a
gun to kill a triad member, or your wanted level will go up. If this happens
and it is only one star, and go on the tracks until your wanted level goes
back down.
Load up on as many guns as
possible or enable the "All weapons" code. Go to the Diablos phone
box where you receive your missions. Run around the corner until you are
beside the stairs to the monorail. Stand with your back to the wall. From
here you can take out as many people as desired without worrying about the
cops killing you. The cop cars drive recklessly back and forth trying to get
closer but they cannot reach you. Only the helicopters can shoot you, but
are easily dealt with.
Drive to the docks turn after
all the caravan trailers. Keep going straight ahead then turn left. There
should be a large boat (the same one that you destroy in the "Bomb Da
Base" mission). Run up the ramp onto the boat. Shoot every pedestrian
you see and your wanted level will rocket up. Stay on the boat and wait for
the police to arrive. Any cars that approach will run straight into the
water. The officers will also run into the water. Your only worry will be
the helicopters, and with the "All weapons" code enabled, they can
easily be disposed of.
Portland:
Get away from felony:
If you have six stars or less and you want to get away from the cops go near
Luigi's in the red light district. Opposite the subway is a building which
has glass windows. Go into this building and the Army or cops will not
follow. You will be safe, but if you go out again you will get shot.
Wait until the monorail
arrives, then quickly run up the stairs and get on. You will now see the
train traveling around the island with FBI and helicopters chasing it. The
train is indestructible and the helicopters cannot hit you if you are
inside. After awhile on the train, your wanted level will go down.
Portland:
Hidden package: Take the pill that is in the Portland docks, hidden between two
mobile homes. Then, run towards the ships until you find the building with
the stairs. Run up the stairs to get on top of the roof. Across from you on
the roof is a package. Run as fast as you can and jump just before you fall
off the end. You should make it if the pill has not worn off yet.
Go to 8-Ball's. Once there,
find a tunnel and drive through it. In the middle of the tunnel, you will
find four old ladies. Run them over if desired. The hidden package is in the
middle of them.
Portland:
Hidden missions: There is a place on your map the do not show where you can accept
a mission. Go to where The J (Joey's) was located. Go directly north from
there until reaching the next building (which is very close) . There should
be a phone there. Answer it if it is ringing to get the mission for someone
named Morty.
Go to the Bitchin' Dog Food
building during the day. The phone outside will ring and you can receive
missions from Morty.
Go to Momma's Resturante Tony's
contacting site. Go to the steps that do not lead to the parking lot. Across
from those steps, you will see an alley with a van parked there. "TOYZ
'N' THE HOOD" will be marked on the side of the van. Get in it to
activate a mission that allows you to blow up Mafia Sentinels, and will
result in $1000 for each Mafia car you destroy.
Go to the Hepburn Heights
Monorail Station. Keep walking past the staircase, and around the corner and
you will find a "Toyz N The Hood" Truck. It will ask you to
destroy Diablo Stallions for $1000 each. Do not get out of the truck or the
mission will end.
Portland:
Rampage locations:
In Diablo turf, very close to
Luigi's club.
On top of the train tracks.
In the same location where
the flame thrower was in the Trail By Fire mission.
In Mafia turf around Toni's,
by those two parked Mafia cars above the ground.
In between two small
buildings across the street from Supa Save store.
By the Callaham bridge in
Triad turf, across the old school hal.
Portland:
Easy money: In Portland, near Toni's place, is an alley with a parked van
marked "Toyz". Get in the van to play a rampage mini-game
involving an RC car with a bomb attached to it. You get $1000 for each Mafia
car you destroy. This game can be played as many times as needed.
Portland:
Finding prostitutes: Wait until it is 21:00 or later at night. Go to where Luigi hang
outs (the Red Light District).
Portland:
Flamethrower: Get a decent car, such as the cab or something that is not too
heavy. Drive from your hideout in Portland to the end of the road to your
left. Turn around, and drive on the grass under the monorail tracks. On the
left section of grass will be a jump made out of concrete. Jump off it, and
try to land on the monorail tracks, or at least on the stairway so you are
facing the same way that you were driving. Drive in-between the tracks, as
you do not want to take a chance at getting knocked off by the monorail. You
will soon see a glowing circle on your right, which is the flamethrower.
Drive over to it, and park next to the ledge-type object below it. Jump onto
the hood of the car and take the flamethrower. Save the game at this point,
as it may be difficult to get it again.
Go on the raised railroad (do
not get on a train) and walk to the Head Radio building. Jump on the
building to find a flamethrower.
Go to where you had to blow up
Mike Forelli (St. Mark's Bistro) and go to the stairs that lead to the train
tracks. Ride on the tracks you should see a flamethrower on a building.
Portland:
Molotov cocktails: Go to 8-Ball's auto yard, and take the path leading to the
garage. Before you enter the garage is a path leading left. Take this path,
then go straight until you find train tracks. Turn right following, the
train tracks. This leads into a tunnel. Keep going until you find a group of
bums. Run over and kill them. They will leave Molotov cocktails and a hidden
package.
Portland:
Paper body targets: Go by Luigi's club, but turn in the alley to your right. There
will be three paper body targets located there.
Portland:
Drive on elevated train tracks: In the highest area of Portland is elevated train station. The
path leading up to the tracks is large enough to fit a car.
Portland:
Get on Chinatown rooftops: Go to the jump that has a parking lot before it. Enable the
"Better driving skills" code. Go off the jump against the wall and
try to make it on the train tracks. Go a little father and you will see a
building close to the tracks. Go as fast as possible to jump from the tracks
to the building.
Portland:
Police station fort: This fort will take some time, so be ready. You will also need
several cars (preferably Coaches). Go to the Coach station in Portland near
Joey's place. There should be a few Coaches at this location. Take these
Coaches to the police station. Line them up in front of the police parking
lot wall, end-to-end, but leave the entrance to the police station open
because Army tanks will eventually block that for you. Next, take the
ambulance that is usually parked next door at the hospital. If it is not
there, just walk some distance away and one should appear. This will be the
"bomb". You can use anything for that, but the ambulance is the
easiest to get. Park this near the stop lights. Next, go up the ramp located
on the side of the police station that is closest to the hospital. When you
are up there, start shooting pedestrians as they appear and your wanted
level will soon skyrocket. Once the police show up, kill them for some
money. Now it is time for the "bomb". When police officers speed
down the road where you parked the "bomb", they will usually get
caught up just around the stop lights, either by traffic or other officers.
Take out a strong gun and blast the "bomb". That should take out a
large number of cops and give you some real money. Beware of the Army though
-- they pack M-16s which can kill you almost instantly if you have no armor.
If things get a little too hasty, enable the "Lower wanted level"
code. Note: This can also be done at other locations.
Portland:
Kill a lot of police: In Trenton (near Joey's Place) is a location where the police
almost never can get you. When you look at the map of the area where Joey
is, notice the road leading out of the two box-like things on the map.
Follow this road until you are near Atlantic Quays. On the right will be an
area with a gate that will open. Enable the "Better driving
skills" code, then jump the gate or wall to get in there. The police
cannot get in there except with a lucky flip or jump. You can press Select
many times out of the vehicle until the camera angle above you appears.
Enable the "All weapons" code and get out the flamethrower to kill
many pedestrians and cops when facing the walls. Be careful, if you have
five stars and walk slowly around the gate, you will be shot a lot by the
FBI. There is a way out -- walk on the hay structure next to the building.
Walk a little on the roofs and jump off. You also can find a hidden item and
armor on the far end.
Portland:
Free law enforcement cars without risk of felony: At the dock in Portland, where there is an area that has yellow
stripes, if you can manage to take the police car, the Enforcer, the FBI
car, the Barracks OL, the Rhino, an ambulance, and a fire truck, there will
be Grand Theft Auto 3 icons that have the name of each car above
them. Walk into one. The crane will bring that vehicle off the ship and put
it into the area with yellow stripes.
Portland:
Car dealer: When you are getting off the bridge going to Portland, take the
first right. Follow the curve then turn right. Next take the first right
again into a parking lot. When you are in the parking lot, turn left and go
between the buildings. When between the buildings, turn left. When you get
out of the building, turn right to find the a garage that you use to collect
cars. When you get all the cars, you will get a big cash bonus and unlimited
amount of cars that you delivered.
Portland:
Rock: On the high bluff just past Salvatore's Gentleman's Club, you can
see the lighthouse. Enable the "Flying car" code, get a Banshee or
other fast car, and it will be possible to jump/fly to the lighthouse. Note:
It is impossible to escape from the rock. You will slide into the water if
you stop moving.
Portland:
Big Dipper: At night (when the weather is clear), go to Salvatore Leone's
Gentlemen's Club in St. Marks. As you reach the end of the driveway, go up
his steps to his house. Walk straight (you may need to use R3 to
navigate), then look closely to see the Big Dipper.
Portland:
Garbage can death: Get a car, enable the "Better Driving Skills" code, and
go to the construction yard (next to the gas station, fire station, or
8-Ball's bomb shop). Get back as far as you can (away from the car crusher).
Speed up towards the crusher and press L3 to jump in it. This may
take a few attempts. To make it better, enable the "Slow motion"
code two times.
Portland:
Restore power-ups: Walk into your garage and let the camera pan out. Your power-ups
will have regenerated after you leave the garage.
Portland:
Destroy full winged Dodo: Enable the "Fly car" code and get a tank. Turn the
turret around and find a long straight path to take off. Go to the crusher
in Portland and fly around until you see a full winged Dodo. Ram into it or
turn the turret and shoot it. The Dodo will explode and you will be at
wanted level 4. You can also shoot the Dodo if you stand on the cement
platform behind the crusher. When one flies over, use the bazooka to shoot
it down.
Go to Portland via the tunnel.
Just after you exit the tunnel, go up to the cement overpass where you can
look down at the car crusher across from 8 Ball's. Turn around and look to
the right of a radio tower with your rocket launcher. In awhile, a full
winged Dodo will fly over. For about one second it will be low enough to
blast out of the sky. It makes for some great special effects, especially at
night.
Portland:
Take over a garage: When you are at the Atlantic Quays, drive all the way down to the
last garage (at the opposite end of the road where you drop Maria off at).
You can drive straight through the door. You can fill it up with Tanks (cars
will disappear) in case one is needed later.
Portland:
Sniping location: Enable the "All weapons" code multiple times. Switch
your weapons to the sniper rifle. Take a car and go to the nearest train
station in Portland. Go onto the middle of the tracks where the trains do
not pass. Keep walking and look for a building that is almost touching the
tracks. There is a flamethrower there, highlighted in purple. Make sure a
train is not coming, then jump onto the building. From here you can snipe,
throw grenades, use a bazooka, or just shoot people without being attacked
by the police. The police will gather below you and you can shoot at them.
The only thing that can hit you are the helicopters, which can be killed in
one to four bazooka shots, depending on where hit.
Go to Portland next to where
Joey's missions were with any wanted level. Open the gates and go in. Once
you are in, the police cannot get in unless you open the gates for them. You
are only vulnerable to helicopters.
Shoreside
Vale: Secret boat: At the airport, go to the runway that veers to the right. Get to
the end, then jump down on to the ledge to your left. Look in the water to
find a speeder.
Shoreside
Vale: Two speed boats: To get two speed boats, go to the airport and get in the Dodo
Cessna plane. Drive on the runway but do not take off. When at the end of
the runway, disembark the plane and run to the speed boat that you can see.
Get in and drive around for a few seconds. Drive back and you will see a new
speed boat. Note: You must drive the Dodo to get the speed boat.
Shoreside
Vale: Mysterious force: Drive a big truck such as a Flatbed to the end of the unused
runway in the airport. Take the boat below the unused runway. Drive it out a
ways then turn around. Run the boat aground up the ramp. Next, drive the
truck against the boat and keep pushing it. Push it west towards the back of
the airport. Be patient, as you will have to push it for awhile. Try to keep
it in the middle of the runway by pushing different parts of the boat. When
you have pushed the Speeder to the helicopter pad, start pushing it to the
edge of the water. When the boat gets to close to the edge, it will start
sliding extremely fast back down the runway all by itself.
Shoreside
Vale: Shoot down Dodo: Drive to the Cedar Grove neighborhood. Behind the Cartel mansion
is a mountain with a gray bottom and a top that turns green. Steal a police
car and drive up the mountain. It gets fairly steep -- find pockets of space
and pull through. The top is needle sharp. Get out of the car before it
rolls down. Stand on top of the mountain, which has a great view of the
city. Wait awhile, and you will hear an engine noise from above. Look up and
a full winged Dodo will be flying. Use a rocket launcher to hit it. It will
explode in a mass of debris and light. You now will have four stars.
Shoreside
Vale: See inside of plane: Go to the airport in a fast car (Cheetah, Inferus, Banshee,
etc.). Then, wait until a plane leaves the runaway or lands. Drive up to it
and get directly underneath. You should be able to see the inside of the
plane. Although it is hollow, you can see the windows.
Shoreside
Vale: Reenter Cartel mansion: After completing the last storyline mission (rescuing Maria), the
Cartel mansion will be closed again. You can access it, however, if you are
in a Cartel Cruiser (large ugly chromed trucks). There is armor in the
garage and a package in the pool out in back.
To get inside the Cartel
mansion early, carjack a Cartel Cruiser (blue four-door pick-up). Drive to
the gate and it will open. There should be a hidden package somewhere by the
house
Shoreside
Vale: Hidden packages: Out on the tarmac at Frances International Airport, near the
police helipad, is a parked police car. This is useful if you are found
car-less after crashing the Dodo or in a similar predicament. There is also
a hidden package on the helipad. There are also vans scattered about, and
one is in the terminal area. If you drive around the terminal (the big,
spider-like building) you will find a hidden package.
Go to the front of the Cartel
hideout in the day and face the opposite direction as the guard is standing.
Go forward, and you should see a house on your left. Enter that yard and
check the front porch. There should be a hidden package located there or in
the backyard. Be careful not to fall in the pool. After getting the hidden
packages, check in front of that house's garage for a car you can steal.
Shoreside
Vale: Hummer checkpoint mission: There is a small dirt park at the edge of the island on the
residential side. You can, if you feel lucky, drive off the road going past
the mansions and land there. Or, you can drive the switchbacks down, take a
left to go towards the water (you should be descending), take a left, then
take a right onto the dirt road at the bluff. Follow it to a Humvee that has
another checkpoint mission. Note: the Hummer can climb near-vertical walls,
just switchback your way up, going right, then left, and so on.
Shoreside
Vale: Import/Export: Leave Cochrane Dam (the dam itself) going towards the industrial
side. Immediately after leaving the dirt road, there should be an opening in
a wall. Enter it, get out, and walk up to a whitish area on the wall. This
is a list of cars to steal. Swipe them, return them to the garage door next
to the list, and once all are collected you will be able to walk into the
garage and pick whichever one you want.
Shoreside
Vale: Flamethrower: Go to the industrial side, then climb the hills until you are
past the police station, towards the dam. There should be an opening in the
wall, with a jump facing you. Go up to the jump, and turn right. Do not
jump. There should be a corridor of crates and objects. Accelerate down it,
and jump off the jump located there. Your car will land in a group of
storage garages. There is health (free), armor (free), and Molotov Cocktails
($5,000) and the Flamethrower ($25,000) scattered about. If your car is not
totaled, there is a road hidden behind the end garage on the Molotov side
that leads up to the police station; or you can just make the small jump off
the trailer.
There is a Flamethrower under
the bridge in Shoreside Vale, on the lawn next to the statue opposite the
airport.
Shoreside
Vale: Hidden bazooka ammunition: Head north across Cochrane Dam. Make the right turn when you get
across, then take the first left to get on the street behind the houses.
Enter the back driveway of the house on the corner, then go behind the
garage and face the house. Jump on to the roof of the house, walk all the
way around, and on the other side will be five more bazooka rounds.
Shoreside
Vale: Ammunition and items: Go to the police station and go around the back. You will see two
rows of garages. Jump down and go to the row on the left. You will see a
open garage, with Molotov Cocktails and a Flamethrower that you can buy, and
they regenerate. Opposite, there areanother two garages open with health and
armor.
Shoreside
Vale: Remote Detonator: Enable the "All weapons" code behind the middle of the
three signs facing Francis International Airport.
Get a car bomb at 8-Ball's Bomb
Shop in Shoreside Vale. You will get a remote detonator like the one in the
ice cream truck mission from El Burro.
Shoreside
Vale: Finding prostitutes: Wait until it is 21:00 or later at night. Go to area where the
police station and the hospital are located.
Shoreside
Vale: Francis International Airport messages: Go outside the main entrance to Francis International Airport and
look up at the electric sign. It will read 'Welcome to Francis International
Airport. Please do not leave luggage unattended. Follow 1 for long and short
term parking. The time is (the actual time)".
Shoreside
Vale: Secret police bribe: There is a hidden police bribe near the parking lot in the
airport where the hangars start.
Shoreside
Vale: Shoot cone off statue: Outside the subway in Francis International Airport is a
vandalized grave with a "In memory of those who fought for our
freedom" inscription and a statue with a large red cone on his head.
Use a Rocket Launcher to blow it away.
Shoreside
Vale: Cars driving off bridge: When part of the bridge rises, tap a car with your car. Most of
the time they will casually drive off the bridge. This also happens if you
shoot the cars.
Shoreside
Vale: Secret walkway on bridge: On the Shoreside Vale lift bridge, find a piece of cement that is
slanted. This piece of cement holds a beam on the bridge on the far left or
right sides of the bridge. Once it is found, get your car and place it so
you can jump on the car to the piece of cement. Once on top, find the blue
walkway. Jump towards the walkway to get on it.
Shoreside
Vale: Stuck under bridge: When the bridge lifts up, walk very slowly off the edge. You
should land on the underside of the bridge. No one can get to you down here,
but you also cannot get back up.
Shoreside
Vale: Walk on dam: Go up to the first or second sniper posts. Make sure you have no
weapons out and run rapidly by tapping X repeatedly.
Shoreside
Vale: Sniping locations: Get on to the bridge that leads to and away from Shoreside Vale.
Then, go straight and stay on the main road until you reach an intersection.
At the top right corner of the intersection is a lot you can pull into. Go
into it. There will be a small ramp, a 18-wheeler trailer and some storage
crates. There are stairs on the side of the warehouse building. Go up them
until you are on the roof of the warehouse. Once there, you have the best
vantage point in the game.
Go to the back of the police
station. There should be a parking lot there. Behind the parking lot is a
group of garages. There is a line of garages you can jump on. Park your car
next to the barricade that is in front of the line of garages you can jump
on. Jump on your car then jump on the garages. Next, jump down. You can
shoot people from here. The only threat to you are the police helicopters.
Just shoot them down with a rocket launcher.
Shoreside
Vale: Get a tank into Catalina's pool: Get a Cartel Cruiser and open up the gate in front of Catalina's
house. Park the Cartel Cruiser next to where the end of the gate is once it
is open so it cannot shut. Enable the "Tank" code. Note: Make sure
you are not in the middle of the road or the tank will probably fall on you.
Take the tank and head into the open gate. You can blow up the Cartel
Cruiser you parked if necessary. Go around the right side of the house
through some bushes and trees and drop into the pool. You can do this
multiple times, but make sure you do not die before you save or all the
tanks will disappear. If you get stuck under tank if it falls on you, enable
the "Destroy all cars" code.
Shoreside
Vale: Rainbow: Go to Cochrane Dam just after it has been raining and the sun is
coming out to see a rainbow.
Shoreside
Vale: Cone for a hat: Go to the subway entrance at Frances International Airport and
look up at the statue in the water.
Shoreside
Vale: Hidden city: Enable the "Tank" and "Dodo City" codes. Fire
the tank turret backwards continuously until you fly. Fly high enough to
escape the boundaries in the game. Fly high over the closed tunnel near the
dam and the observatory. Then, look for a tiny levitating town. Note: Some
games freeze up at this point.
Shoreside
Vale: Stupid cops: This trick must be done before the Cartel Ship mission. Get
yourself to a wanted level then travel to the Cartel barge. If the cops are
chasing you, they will park their car near the corner of the sniper building
(with stairs). As they run, they will shoot at you. They will run off the
bulkhead, waving their hands in the air while falling.
Shoreside
Vale: Posters: Go to the airport. Once there, go to the gate that you have to
break through. Stop and look at the booth directly next to the gate. There
will be four posters hanging inside the window. One shows a woman in a black
dress that says she always liked to be taken up dark alleys. The next one
features a woman in a white bikini with a caption of fun bags at the bottom.
The other two are the same as seen on billboards. Use the Sniper Rifle to
zoom in and get a better look. The other booth near the parking lot in the
airport also has these posters.
Staunton
Island: Get to Shoreside Vale early: Obtain a Cheetah in Staunton Island. Then, go to the bridge that
connects Stanton Island and Shoreside Vale. There will be a cement rail
which separates the two highway sides. Get up on that rail in the middle of
the bridge. Enable the "Flying car" code, then drive slowly about
one quarter way down the middle rail. Stop, position yourself straight, and
floor it off the end of the bridge. Once in the air, turn slightly to the
right or left to land on the road (and not the middle rail).
Enable the "Better driving
skills" and "Flying car" codes. Get an ambulance then go to
the bridge to Staunton Island. Go up to the straight part, then hit the gas.
Go straight off the edge and when you get about two thirds of the way
across, hold Up (or Left Analog-stick Down). If done
correctly, you will go up and over the other side of the bridge.
Enable the "Flying
car" and "Tank" codes. As you go across the bridge to
Shoreside Vale, shoot the turret from the back of the tank for a boost
across.
Note: If you do the Dodo car
trick to get to Staunton Island, you can just take the tunnel to Shoreside
Vale instead of flying it again.
Get a boat from the dock at
Staunton Island. Enable the "Better driving skills" code and drive
the boat to the pipeline. Press L3 or R3 and the boat will
jump over the pipe.
Enable the "Better driving
skills" code at Staunton Island. Go to the hospital in a car. Jump on
to the roof, then jump over the hidden package. Turn right and keep going
straight. You will hit a wall and go through it. You will end up in the
tunnel that leads to Shoreside Vale.
Enable the "Better driving
skills" code, then start off from the entrance to the hospital. Walk up
the stairs, then steal a nearby car (faster cars recommended). Then, speed
up to the nearest corner, and quickly turn around. You should now be riding
back towards the hospital. Press L3 to jump across the gap onto the
lower roof of the hospital. Then, drive into the blue glass building. Your
car should pass into it, then fall. Your car should fall through the
mapping, then land in a tunnel. Drive left in the tunnel. Do not turn, and
keep going straight. You should come out in Shoreside Vale.
Go to the hospital in Staunton
Island. Across from it will be the college campus. Get a fairly fast car and
line yourself up with the overhang on the hospital's roof. Gather speed and
jump to the roof. Once there, drive to the left corner. The game should
glitch and you will fall through the wall and into a tunnel leading to
Shoreside Vale.
Use the following steps to get
a jump trick bonus and get to Shoreside Vale before you should. When you get
to Staunton Island, get a sports car. Any of them should work. Go to the
hospital. When you get to the road leading into the hospital parking lot,
you will see a retaining wall for the parking lot. The wall and the parking
lot for the hospital should be to your left. Turn the car toward the small
wall near its corner, back up, and then hit the gas. Hit the wall straight
on. If done correctly, your car's front end should slip under the wall.
Continue accelerating and turning your wheel. The car will slowly sink into
the ground. Only sports cars will sink all the way. You will eventually fall
into black and the car will spin through empty space. You will land in the
tunnel that runs between the islands. You will receive a double insane stunt
bonus and will have landed on the other side of the wall that blocks
Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale. You now can go to the Airport or the
rest of the island.
Get a small car, such as the
Banshee or a Kuruma. Drive into any subway and out onto the tracks,. Just
drive until you get to Shoreside Vale. Note: You will not be able to do any
of the missions yet.
Go to the subway (number 13 on
the Staunton Island section of your map), then jump onto the train. You must
watch out for passengers at the station. If there are none there, do not get
off or you may be waiting for quite awhile for the next train. You will know
that you are in Shoreside Vale when you see lots of people walking into you.
Steal a boat and take it to the
north-east until reaching the "wall" in the water. Find a location
that is not steep on the coast. Drive the boat onto the road. Steal a U-Haul
type truck and push the boat on the land until you are past the wall. Then,
push it back into the water, get in it, and you can now use the boat to get
to Shoreside Vale. Note: You cannot get onto land anywhere except at the
airport.
Go in the subway by car, and
being careful to miss the train, drive to about halfway between the islands.
You will come across a locked car that seems to be somehow lodged into the
wall. After you meet Ray Machowski, you can enter this car. You can then
drive forward and it appears as if you fall in to some water before landing
on an underpass. From then on, you can drive forwards and turn right for an
easy entry onto the third island.
Find the docks on Staunton
Island and get a boat (preferably a police boat or a speed boat). Go around
Staunton Island. Avoid the bridge used to get onto Staunton Island. Find the
location where there are pipes in the water that prevent you from traveling
by boat from island to island. Where the pipes are connected to Staunton
Island, the shore forms a slant. Back away from this slant in the shore,
then get a lot of speed. If you hit the slant at the correct speed and
angle, you should ramp over the floating pipes (near the Rockford
neighborhood).
After dying, you will resume
the game at the hospital. Go up the stairs and enable the "Better
driving skills" code. When you get onto the road, pick any car of your
choice. Press L3 and jump onto the platform on the hospital. Drive
straight into the green wall, and it should drop you onto the underground
tunnel. You can now make your way to Shoreside Vale early.
Staunton
Island: Returning from Shoreside Vale: Assuming that you have cheated to cross to Shoreside Vale before
it is normally unlocked, get the Dodo at the Shoreside Vale airport. Instead
of jumping the bridge with a car to return to Staunton Island, use the Dodo
to glide easily across the gap. Save it in a garage, and you can use it time
and time again to get around.
Go to the square of garages in
Shoreside Vale with a very fast car. You will see a dirt road near the
water. Enable the "Flying car" code and floor it. Your car will
fly in the air towards Staunton Island.
Staunton
Island: Secret race-type mission: Go to the Super Saver Grocery Store in Newport. Enter the
Stallion in the parking lot to get the secret race-type Multistory Mayhem
mission, where you must go through check points.
Get a Stallion and go to your
hideout. Turn around so that you are pulling out of it. Take a left to the
stop light. Then take a right at the stop light. You will be making like a
U-turn. Go straight until you see the white parking garage to your left.
Park the Stallion in front of the garage and get out. Get back in the car to
get the Multistory Mayhem mission. You will have five minutes to collect
twenty checkpoints, with four on each level.
Staunton
Island: Mini remote controlled car with bomb: Go to the police station on Stauton Island. There is a flight of
stairs leading from the parking lot to the road. Directly across from the
flight of stairs is a building with strange pyramid shapes in front of it.
Walk towards that building. Turn left when you get to the shapes. Keep
walking until you find a small alley/parking lot on your right. Walk down
the alley and turn right at the end. There should be a mini van parked here.
Get into the van and you will get a mini remote controlled car that has a
bomb on it.
Staunton
Island: Easy kills and totaled cars: There is a street with buildings across from each other which are
lined in glass. Load up on guns (or enable the "All weapons" code)
and go on the second floor of either of these buildings. Keep killing people
to raise your wanted level. Then, as police cars arrive, you can either roll
a grenade off the edge and blow them up, or enable the "Destroy all
cars" code. If you stay away from the edge, you will not get hurt.
Sometimes you do not even need to do any work -- when your wanted level is
5, the FBI cars will come zooming up and often times tip themselves over
explode. Helicopters also cannot shoot you, so you can also destroy them
easily.
Staunton
Island: Easier taxi, ambulance, vigilante and firefighter missions: Staunton island is a good place to do these missions. The problem
with Portland, is that when you leave, you will be an enemy to just about
every gang in the district, and the Mafia have car-destroying shotguns.
Shoreside Vale has lots of hills, especially in the Ceder Grove/Witchita
Gardens area. Staunton island, however, is all flat. The gangs that hate you
sometimes do not shoot at you too much.
Staunton
Island: Molotov Cocktails: Kill yourself or go to the hospital. From the stairs, continue to
go straight until you see another pair of stairs. Go to the left and you
will find some Molotov Cocktails.
Staunton
Island: Shotgun: To get a free shotgun, go to Ammu-Nation and buy a cheap pistol
for $250 (or bring a pistol from your hideout for free). Run up to the
counter as close as you can and shoot the teller until he falls to the
ground. You will usually be able to get his shotgun.
Go to the restroom in the park
where you meet the man. Face towards the bathroom. Turn around to see a
statue. Go up the steps and behind the statue will be a shotgun.
Staunton
Island: Easy ammunition: Save the game at your hideout, then go to the bridge between
Staunton Island and Portland. Go down the second turn to your right. The
first building has six panes of glass. Smash them and go to the top floor.
Enable the "Higher wanted level" code until you get six stars,
then wait for all of the cops to appear. Kill them, then use the "Lower
wanted level" code. Go down and collect the guns.
Staunton
Island: All weapons: Successfully get to your garage in Staunton Island. All types of
weapons will be floating in green bubbles, as well as health.
Staunton
Island: Park checkpoint mission: In the park is a Landstalker parked near the lake, next to a
house. Enter it, and you should have a fun checkpoint mission in the park.
Staunton
Island: Enter stadium: If you have access to Shoreside Vale, go to the airport and get
the Dodo. Fly above the stadium and pull back. Get out to enter the stadium.
Staunton
Island: Triple or more insane stunt bonus: Take a right from your hideout then take the first left. Take
another right and head down this road. When you reach the end, drive down
the road which is the furthest left. Go down this road a fair bit then turn
around to face the opposite direction that you just drove from. Accelerate
down this road, dodging cars. Do not worry about the pedestrians, Hit the
grass hedge at the end. With some luck you will do about three flips. This
works best in a Banshee.
Staunton
Island: Hidden stadium message: Use the Tank with the "Flying car" code enabled, or
just use the Dodo plane to fly past the stadium in Staunton Island. Look
inside the stadium and you will see "COCKS" in large white
letters.
Go to the stadium on Staunton
Island. Go up the stairs to the front gates of stadium. Once there, take out
a sniper rifle and use the scope to zoom inside the stadium. Look at the
bleachers on the left and right sides. They say "COCKS" on them.
Staunton
Island: Hidden Internet café message: The Internet café on Staunton Island is called "TW@",
which is an abbreviation for "twat".
Staunton
Island: Cloning garage: Drive certain cars into the garage by Pay N Spray and 8 Balls
Bombs. More cars of that type will appear on the second and higher floors.
Staunton
Island: Extra cars in garage: Put two cars in the garage. The next time you try to put another
car in the garage, a message will appear. Take that car and smash the
drivers door off. This will not cause damage to car once it is in the
garage, as it will be restored to mint condition. Next, ram the car into the
garage. Get out, walk to the garage door, and it will open. Quickly press Triangle
and drive the car inside. Note: The garage will make strange noises, but
when you save it should shut. You can do this until no more cars can fit
inside.
Staunton
Island: Get on top of Kenji's Casino: Once you have mastered flying the Dodo, takeoff to the right and
follow the coastline of Staunton Island. Once the casino is in sight, find a
floor with a big block pyramid. Fly to the bottom of the pyramid. Once on
that floor turn the Dodo right towards the side of the roof. Make sure the
wing is near the rain-type of gutter. Get out of the Dodo and jump on the
wing to the roof. On the very top, jump over the bushes and trees. The areas
that are solid can be found by newspapers. If no newspapers are there, it is
not solid.
Obtain a Yakuza Stinger. Go to
the road that faces the front, where it says "Kenji's Casino". The
side is slanted there. Look in back and reverse towards the casino. Enable
the "Better driving skills" code and jump. It splits half way up,
so you must jump again.
Staunton
Island: Stuck on bridge: Park on the seam where the drawbridge to Shoreside lifts up (just
past the last light pole). The bridge will open, and your car may fall down.
You should land on the pilings and infrastructure of the bridge. From here
you can snipe pedestrians (remember to lead slightly), or shoot down police
helicopters. You cannot escape from this location.
Staunton
Island: Civilians drive into water: Get a police car and turn on its siren. Drive along the road
opposite Asuka's apartment building. All the cars will not only move aside,
but will also drive through the gap between the tracks into the water below.
Note: Make sure the cars are next to the gap on the left, and that you
approach them from the right.
Staunton
Island: Start a gang war: Go to a place where the Columbian Cartel hangs out. Try to shoot
one of them with any gun. When you do, they will start attacking. When they
do, a gang called the Yakuzas will start attacking the Cartel because you
are in the Yakuza gang. To know who is on your team, if you see someone all
dressed in black, they are on your team. If you see someone dressed up like
a cowboy, they are a Cartel member. You can help your gang fight the Cartel.
However, the cops will start chasing you will not chase the other people
that are fighting. Also, when people walking by watch the war, one of them
will say "Look everyone its the movie".
Staunton
Island: Hidden package: There is a hidden package on the hospital roof on Stauton Island.
The package is on the corner of the building directly across from the
stairs. To get the package, park an ambulance parallel, right next to the
building where the package is located. Then, park any "van"
perpendicular to the ambulance. Then, park any "car" next to the
van. Finally, just jump onto each vehicle to get to the roof. The hospital
parking lot contains plenty of vehicles to choose from.
Staunton
Island: Best hideout: Go to the other half of Staunton Island, where the casino is
located. Look for a tall building with the letters "AM" on it.
Walk up the steps and around the railing. Follow the railing and it will
lead to a set of steps, which lead to two more sets of steps. Cops will not
follow you in and it has a perfect sniper spots.
Staunton
Island: Good sniper locations: Steal a Dodo from Shoreside vale and fly it to Staunton Island.
You may need to circle the island a few times to get to the correct
altitude. Once done, fly towards the casino. Look for the top roof with the
pool and try to crash land there, on Kenji's private pad. If successful, you
will be in a great sniper locations. Only helicopters can get you. If you
try to go into the pool you cannot because is almost as if it is frozen.
Get a fast car and go the road
that curves up and around. Drive away from it on the right hand side of the
road. When you reach some billboards, stop and turn around so that you aer
facing the way you came from. Then, drive onto the paving next to the
billboards so you are facing into traffic. Accelerate hard and when you get
onto the curved road do not turn. Go straight off and with luck you will fly
through the air and hit a billboard on a roof. Once there you should find a
sniper rifle and some body armor.
Find the multi-story parking
lot near your hideout. Go to the second level, get a small car such as a
taxi, and park it parallel to the wall. Get it as close to the wall as
possible. Jump onto the car and sniper citizens from that location. The
police cannot shoot at you, and you will not have any problems from
helicopters.
Go to the stadium in Staunton
Island. Go to the top of the stairs and start killing people with the sniper
rifle. Your wanted level will go up, but only helicopters will appear. Note:
Enable the "All weapons" code to destroy the helicopters with the
rocket launcher.
Go to the bridge in Staunton
Island that connects to Shoreside Vale. Drive up it on the left side (into
oncoming traffic), but do not hit any cars. When you reach the top, stop and
very carefully get out of your car. Walk to the berm and do not fall off.
Look right and you should see a balcony on the left lower side that is
connected to the bottom of the bridge. It is blue and has railings. Take
your car and go down the bridge. Turn around drive up it, and go to where
you got out and looked at the balcony. Drive your car off the berm so that
you will hit the building right there. If done correctly, your car will
bounce onto the balcony. This will take some practice. Once there, you can
snipe people as long as desired. However, to get down you will have to jump
to the ground.
Staunton
Island: Get into the police building: Get a police car and go through the gate to the right or left of
the police station to where the Enforcer and a squad car is parked. Turn
around and face the police department. Then, run to the left of the slope
going down to the garage, and run up the steps to the wall of the building.
Go around the police building to the left through the little gap in the
short wall and follow the narrow walkway. Then, after a few steps, you can
go through the wall of the building. The ground here will be blue and
blurry. You can see the cell from which you had to bust out that man in the
mission. If you walk towards the cell, you will drop throughtthe ground and
will land on the street next to the police building.
Staunton
Island: Finding prostitutes: Wait until it is 21:00 or later at night. Go to where you get
form the Shoreside Vale bridge to the Portland Island bridge (by the park).
Staunton
Island: Grand Theft Auto 2 pictures: Go to Staunton Island and find between the two big parallel
streets the "tw@" place between big windows. If you have trouble
finding this area, start from one end of the street and drive down until you
find it -- there should be signs in the room that say "tw@". There
should be a lot of computers in there, and some of them will have pictures
from Grand Theft Auto 2. Use the sniper rifle to zoom in on them.
Go into the Internet cafe and
look at the two computers on the right side of the steps going up. The one
on the left is playing Grand Theft Auto and the one on the right is
playing Grand Theft Auto 2.
Staunton
Island: Scrolling messages: In the downtown area are scrolling messages that promote the
movies from the billboards, music albums, etc.
Staunton
Island: Hidden message: Go to the Bedford Point neighborhood, then go to the
intersection. There will be a building with a staircase and a underground
parking lot to the left side of it there. The right side has a small
driveway. Go through it. To the right will be a big wall. Enable the
"Better driving skills" code and jump the wall. You will be in a
passage with a lot trees. Go as far as you can in the direction opposite to
the building you came in. Look to the left to see a sign that reads
"You weren't supposed to be able to get here you know". You can
exit out on a ramp that is against the wall in there.
To get to this location another
way, there is a parking lot in Staunton Island that you fight crazy guys
leaping from vans with explosives attached to them. Park a tank up against
the back left wall of the parking lot. You can see a ramp that leads down to
the other side. Stack cars, jump over the wall and run to the left. You will
come to a sign that reads "You weren't supposed to get here you
know".
Go to the carpark where you
found a hidden package behind a parked Kuruma, near a rampage. From the blue
garage doors, accelerate with any car straight at the wall with the
"Better driving skills" code enabled to jump over the stone fence.
On this side of the fence, you will find a message about the hidden area.
Staunton
Island: Pervert: On Staunton Island, go to Liberty Campus. Find the man with a
large black coat that is holding a pad of paper. Kill him with any gun
(sniper rifle recommended). When he is lying on the ground, use the sniper
rifle to zoom in on the pad of paper he is holding. You should see that he
drew a picture of male genitalia urinating.
Got to the stadium in Staunton
Island. Go up the stairs to the gate. Press R3 to look at the
bleachers in first person view.
